Thank you all so much,
Kevin
My son called me from Texas some months ago to tell me that you're "the next big one" so I wasn't surprised by how good this is. Nice little group to write for though, huh? IMO the best low brass section on Earth.
2:27 Think I found my new ringtone
As a bass trombone, tuba player and an audio engineer this is quite an immaculate performance! I don't play now but Mike's tone on tuba is what I aimed as my golden standard! Though I thought his horn was too big for the solo, he made it sing! - I can't imagine how amazing it would've sounded on a bass tuba - but the depth and presence in everything else was amazing. As for the engineer, I would've never guessed the space it was recorded in - has the reverb of a concert hall while maintaining the clean and powerful sound of close micing while being distortion free- especially the tuba!
I’m a bass trombone player, tenor trombone player, tuba player, and general multi-instrumentalist. I do a lot of composing and though I’m more indie/jazz oriented and I do a lot of songwriting for vocal and instrumental pieces, I have to agree with this here. The tuba tone was incredible
Roylance and Markey make a tremendously powerful and virtuosic duo!!!! The rest of the section is remarkable too
Roylance sounds like a million bucks. Really, this whole group sounds fantastic!
I'm sure there's nothing more satisfying to have such amazing players like James Markey play your music! I enjoyed this a lot.
That tuba piece is godly
Mike Roylance is sickeningly good... the sounds he gets out of a tuba are astounding
dude, this is the most BADASS low brass piece I’ve ever heard 😤👌
If you liked this, you’ll love Jim markey’s album On Bass.
Try A beautiful sound by Columbian state trombones
John Simpsen oooo cool, definitely.
@@T-Slider without sounding like someone's dad. It's "On Base". A little play on words. You're right of course, fantastic album.
Raymond Fallon At 75, all I have left are attempts at humor, and a couple of pedal Bbs with nowhere to play them. Vaccine where R U?
If Toby Oft is chopping out by the end you know that part is brutal lol
Nice!
Played this for solo and ensemble my sophomore year of high school, very fun piece
Every second of this video is a pure gold!
Some of the most beautiful brass writing I've heard! Thanks, Kevin, for contributing such an amazing piece to our repertoire!
This is amazing.
Hey, guys. It's a lot easier to have that much fun without all those string players getting in the way, huh? Bravo!
Brass gang for life
:(
I dunno, half the fun of playing trombone in an orchestra is deafening violists
@@counterfit5 I mean... Your not wrong.. 😆

Listening to this through my Bose wireless headphones. This is awesome!!!!
Yes! 🔥
This is absolutely insane.
Truly excellent composition and performance. To be expected from these four.
I love this piece so much and have a hard time stopping my self from constantly clicking on this video first. The melody is always so stuck in my head. This really feels like a reflection. A reflection of this time maybe ? Absolutely wonderful playing, one my of Favorite Low Brass Sections.
AMAZING!!!!

Incredible piece!!
Absolutely amazing
This is just incredible! I would love to hear a DCI horn line play something like this one day.
I would love to hear this as well!
@@kevindaymusic incredible stuff. Some really high level Texas bands could do it too. Maybe in 20 years if my program can handle it I’ll do it lol.
Great work and an amazing performance!
IMPRESIONANTE!!
Nice piece and wonderful playing.
This is Insane
This is amazing Kevin!! Amazing work to you and the amazing low brass section of the BSO!! This piece is really helping me personally after the terrible news today
Beautiful Mandus!!!!!
Very Nice! 🇧🇷
That's a great work! Wish I was still playing my trombone.
Bravissimo gentlemen!!!
Better yet after multiple listening sessions which is not always true.
Bravo!
Very beautiful. I enjoyed so much. I fall in love with Brass. Thank you for share...From Iran....
YIKES!!
Wow!!!!!! What a wonderful performance!!!!!! I am very happy to meet you!!!!!
I am a pianist and composer, so I can study music through listening your great music!!!!!! I want to be your friend!!!! Will you??
Um, yes!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
👏👏👏
Tenor trombone…. So versatile
🔝
👍👍👍
Just rehearsed it yesterday near Hamburg, GER.
Not quite sure if like having the tenor at first position more than alto.
Great composition! As a big low brass fan, I feel this instrumentation is very under-utilized. Also, that tuba sound is rattling my windows. And I'm listening on headphones.
Dude! Brass gang am I right!?
Is there anyone that knows what type of iPad music stand adapter Toby Oft is using? I would very much like to buy one but I can’t find anything like it.

Is there any way we can make this available to listen to on Spotify?
Man I thought this was going to be an RKelly thing
Same here. Was kind of disappointed
that would have been pretty cool.
The only reason why I clicked. Low key a little sad.
hey Kevin,
is there a way to buy this as a pdf?
Yes, you can buy this as a PDF here.

Sounds a lot like the destiny soundtrack
Were y'all "socially distancing", or does somebody have a flatulence problem?
yes, and yes.
Great sound! (And they are "politically correct" via "social distancing". BUT - they ain't wearing PC masks.
