I really like it. I am going to try to make one for my granddaughter. It is easier to wear than the regular scarf. Thanks so very much for your instructions.
Hi! Thank you for your comment! You are very welcome. I have knitted quite a few and had good response from both users and parents. My kids love them =)
Great video, very clear and simple. You purl a way I haven’t seen before - think I will try out that technique while working on this project! We’re experiencing a cold spell in my area and I’ll feel much better taking my son out with something to keep his neck warm. Thanks!
Wonderful tutorial!! Easy to understand and follow. I will begin making one today for my daughter and and one for my nephew. Tusen takk! Greetings from Osterøy! 😊✨
These neckwarmers are safer for children to wear...many schools discourage regular scarves as they could get caught in playground equipment. Thank you!
Hi! I have had many requests for adult size for this pattern. I will add adult size to the written pattern shortly =) Great to hear that you like the video =)
When you say near the end that you can twist the stitches at the gap between the neck tube and the picked up stitches, what do you mean? Can you explain?
If you follow the link in the video descriptin you will be directed to written pattern for it. It is knitted in the same way as the blue. Only difference is the stitch type on the front and back piece=)
Hi! You add your working yarn the same way that as when you run out of yarn and start with a new ball of yarn. I usually hold the end of the new yarn in my right hand and start knitting. After a few stitches it is secure and I let the yarnend go.
I see that you connected them together after you knit and purl the neck part, and used another circular needle. Is it possible to use a stick needle for the other side? Or do you really need to have two circular needles. But I don't know how to add one more needle 😂
Hi!! I am also comfortable with straight needles and have completed the neck part now. Please tell me how to proceed further. Can I stitch the two sides of the neck part after completing the total knitting?
You can use double pointed needles the same way you would do on a cuff for a sock or a mitten. The rib part is just like a wide cuff =) You can have a look at one of my sock or mitten videos to see how if you are unsure about how.
If you follow the link in the video description field, you will find the written pattern with more information. I have used DK yarn. It should make 22 stitches in 10 cm with needle size 3,5 mm. I would go for that, but have in mind that some knit tight and get more stitches in 10 cm and some knit loose and get fewer. Being new to knitting, I would take time to make one swatch using the above yarn and needle size. You only need 25 stitches and knit 5 cm to be able to get a good measure and then you will know if you are close enough to the gauge or if you need to go up or down a needle size =)
Hi! Sorry for not being more accurate about that. Swatch is done in stockinette or garter as the rib "pulls together" so much and is difficult to measure accuratly =)
Hi! I used two 50 gram balls of DK weight yarn. Thank you for your request. I have now updated this info in the written pattern too =) You are welcome!
Sorry!!! I mean slip the first stitch! My english isn't that great and that sentence was a bit too norwegian in both construction and choice of words =)
@@bergofnorway hey don't worry about it! I figured it out later as you showed it later in the video at around 14:30, but thank you so much for your fast reply! Thank you for the tutorial, i have one question. How do you start knitting the second side after you used the yarn to cast of the first side? Because there is no yarn to start knitting with 🙈 or i didnt do it correct
Hi! You are verey welcome! You are absolutely right, there is no yarn to start knitting the second side with. What you do is take what is left of the yarn you used to make the first side, or start with a new ball of yarn if needed. Hold the loose end so that you are able to put a little tension on the yarn without loosing it when you begin. Then you start knitting as if the yarn were attached to the work the way it was on the first side. Hope this was understandable =)
Hi! You find the written patterns om my web site. Link In video description Window under the video. I have used 84 stitches on one i once knitted and it was used from age 1 to 2,5. Hope it helps😊
@@bergofnorway thanks for replying ...that's helpful.. but I just found out my circular needles are too big for making small hat or neck warmer ..all my circular needles are same length.. I'm stuck now..😣

Lovely knitting. These type of neck warmers are a good idea for little children.
Your English is great, and your voice is pleasant to listen to.
Thank you so much. Yes, they are safer and easier to put on and off for the children than regular scarves. So happy you like it =)

@@karenbarakat3535 Hi! It will be ready this weekend and added on the same page as the children sizes =)
When you say near the end that you can twist the stitches at the gap between the neck tube and the picked up stitches, what do you mean? Can you explain?
Twisting the stitches makes them tighter and help closing gaps between stitches. To see how, search twist knit on this channel =)
Thanks very much for this tutorial. I would like to knit the orange one in your video. Do you have instructions for that model, please?

Hej!
Please mention the size of the needles, will 10 number needles be okay?
Hi! You find link to written pattern in the descrpition below the video window =)
How do you start the beginning of the back. Once you've picked up the 6 new stitches, you need a working yarn, how is that done?

I just used the needle I had easiest available. No need to another circular =)
@@bergofnorway thank you for replying, i finally understood how to knit this. This question was posted a day after i have tried to learn to knit. 😅
I have a question. I am not comfortable using circular needles yet, I'm wondering if I could do the cest part on straight needles?
