acctualy its not that smart to do it, a lot of animals and birds might react badly toward the baby animals aftherward because they smell wrong and it can end in the animals beeing rejected and ends up dying from cold, hunger or predators. like if you see a deerfawn laying down in a field DO NOT toutch it, because it can be a big chance for it to get rejected if you do and that would most likely mean it would die from hunger because those ones is most likely to young to be able to stay alive without the mothers milk
