Not to be that guy, but this is almost objectively better than Caravan Palace's live version. The vocals especially, the balance is perfect. How the hell does this have so few views?!
Just recently I checked out multiple live performences of this from Caravan Palace, love the original version, but damn this song is super hard to pull off live. The vocals with a full brass orchestra can be changed just enough that it's feels a bit more natural and easier to mask minor errors or slightly off pitch (not that it's a huge problem in this case, but Caravan Palace kind of suffers from this, especially when there's very limited reverb on the vocals when performed live).
I mean I see what you mean and I also like this version here, but: Here she is singing the entire song and also on top of her lungs to stand against the orchestra. In caravan Palace's version she is singing in staccato and a very timmed voice to imitate a cats walk. Which is very hard to do.
I have to disagree with you here. The thing I much prefer about this version is that it leans heavily into the whole swing band aspect, but the timing is way off and the precision is just not there. There's some live performances of this by Caravan Palace where Zoe's singing is nothing short of superhuman. Though I agree none of what Caravan Palace has done in the last few years is anything close to what it used to be.

Zumindest in Deutschland sind (oder waren, damals als ich noch jung war - ich hab zwar klavier und kein Blasinstrument gelernt, aber man bekommt an Musikschulen ja trotzdem mit was bei den anderen so läuft) die Landesjugendblasorchester eher nicht so auf Jazz. Und wenn man normal Klassik spielt ist es eine echt harte Umstellung mit der Rhytmik von solchen Stücken klarzukommen. Grade wenn das Orchester Blasinstrumente umfasst, bei denen es durchaus wahrscheinlich ist, dass viele nicht so oft mit Jazz in Kontakt kommen (wer Saxofon oder Trompete lernt, wird wohl öfters mal Jazz spielen. Grade bei so manchen Holzblasinstrument ist das halt dann weniger üblich). Das das alles andere als einfach ist, merkt man stellenweise ein kleines bischen (insbesondere 2:04 bis 2:14 wo die Klarinetten nicht 100% zueinander synchron erscheinen).
WTF. Wann wurde das durch Bonjwa erwähnt? Das habe ich wohl verpasst. Ich kenne diesen Song/Video schon lange und mind. genauso lange verfolge ich diesen Hamburger Friseur-Kanal, aber wann genau hat Bonjwa darauf reagiert oder das irgendwie erwähnt?
