Watched all 3 of these .Thanks for putting these videos up Jason. Actions speak louder than words. Learning is so much more fun by just watching.
Just a fantastic series. Learned a few things as well. Just a fantastic wedding shoot and made some beautiful photos. Excellent job!!
Incredibly impressive Jason. You have an amazing combination of skills... camera skill, check...posing/directing skills, check...artistic and creative eye...check check. You're top shelf.
Thank you very much!
What an amazing wedding venue and the results of the photo shoot are stunning - another stunningly informative video. Thanks Jason for including us, your You Tube followers.
Thank you and you're welcome..:)
Ah Jason, I just loved this trio of videos, full of information and great to see how you work, it was a long day but glad you shared it with us.Keep on clicking.
Thank you brother!!!
Is always helpful to have a nice and willing couple to work with... You always spend more time with those clients.
Just binge watched a bunch of your videos. Wish I had you at my wedding! Love how you make it so easy for the couple to work with you. Great work and very entertaining photographer!
Thank you! I should've been your photographer!
Jason I really enjoy watching these videos. Especially the way you teach/pose/direct ect. Love it Jason!!!
Thank you brother!!
Jason Lanier what ISO were you at ... at 13:43 ...the subjects looked clean but there was noise in the sky and Sony doesn't produce even at high ISOs does it? unless it's insanely high. I ask cuz I m considering buying a Sony mirrirless
Jason Lanier hey... is that a battery grip on the Sony camera?
Beautifully done Jason... You are truly an artist. I've learned so much from watching you work brother, thank you... Big thumbs up as always + favorite.
Variation is bliss 👍🏾🇸🇪🇺🇸🙌🏾 and The energy like always 🙏🏾
Very nice series. Looks like you were having a blast. Beautiful couple and venue!!

Great video and AMAZING Holy Santa Maria Guadalupe images, as always Jason. You knocked it out of the park. Im sure the bridge told all her friends about you and hope this gig landed you a lot of gigs after that.
Fantastic and very educational video... thank you very much Jason!
You're welcome brother
Hey Jason, another great video! Nice work! Anyway you could post a few of the low light samples on your site? Still wanting to compare the photos with my lowlight on Canon 5d III, almost ready to make the Sony move!
Hermoso trabajo el que haces Jason Lanier!! Beautiful work that you do Jason Lanier!!!
Amazing Work! You are making me want to be a professional photographer so thank you for always inspiring me on every one of your videos that I have watched! Blessings 😀💝🎁📸
Hi Jason, another set of informative videos of you sharing your work flow and expertise-thank you. Would I would really love -if at all possible- is a video of you showing us the finished product i.e. the finished wedding album. I bet that would be awesome to see and hear your comments how you put it together etc. Thank you again for sharing your work, you keep posting and I'll keep watching! :)
This tells me , its all about knowing how to pose the couple ! The couple had no clue , it was all Jason's experience of knowing how to pose them
Watched all 3 Jason and you and your team are just wonderful, I've learnt so much at my age amazing, all because of you thank you so much, I've just got to get a Sony camera now lol thanks for all your hard work regards
Wow , amazing night shots :) Awesome job !!
Amazing shoot love it !!!!
amazing shoot. you Sir inspire me!
You are a wikipedia of poses and have the talent to visualize shots in advance- well done. Yes, the gear is important but its useless without creativity. Great videos.
+AviB Thank you!
This was a great series Jason, thanks. You did mention that you used a huge amount of different camera gear, so could you perhaps please do a short video explaining why you chose each camera in each situation? I'm definitely interested in why you chose to use the A77ii when you did, in place of something like one of the A7's (I'm an A77ii shooter, so I'm happy, just wondering why). Thanks again.
Thank you so much, for being so open about your tech, learned a lot from yours videos!
That was great! I watched all three segments and you've given me alot of Ideas for an up and coming wedding I am shooting. The Photix Mitros is a beast. I have one and have used it time and again at events and formals and most recently shooting weddings. It delivers every time and to be able to control the ev on my second flash is awesome. It's also cheaper than the Nikon one. I also have the Macro 105 2.8. I first bought it to do commercial shooting but when I used it at a wedding for some ring shots, I was hooked. And like you, I used my video light to illuminate the rings and shoes. (And yes I got that idea from one of your previous modeling videos.) I get alot of inspiration from watching your videos. Thank you for being you and showing us how it's done.
You're welcome bro. I'm so glad it helps...:)
Weddings can be so tough to shoot, especially at reception . Thanks for the video.
You're welcome..:)
thank you for sharing this experience with us and making it look so easy ,all the best from Sarajevo.
Jason, you are the wizard of light bro! So many WOW moments, I aint even trying to list them lol!Thumbs UP!~John
love all your videos bro. the best.
you know she is exhausted... dragging that dress all over. LOVE THE SHOTS
I don't regret buying my a6000 because of you thanks for the videos and keep up the good work 👍
you have a nice talent to put these lights alvays on the right place !
I love shooting with artificial lighting (flashes, LED's, flashlights, you name it). even on broad daylight because they expand your possibilities a lot and they can be used to look natural just to balance shades. excellent job you did there, congrats!!
Just saw all 3 videos. Awesome work. Only question is do you shoot ETTL on your flash or manual? Only asking because to be able to change on the fly i would assume would not be the best idea? I'm just curious because i am looking to get into the wedding game.
Jason Lanier really enjoy from Chennai India best wishes from Pro Vision Photography
Jason, sweet wedding shoot. My fiancees Niece is getting married in May 2016. I am not photographing the wedding. But I am planning a fun, qwerky couple shoot before the wedding. I have learned a lot just from these videos. Thanks. I have grown to respect all your work. We both enjoy the abandoned and haunted place phtotography. Your wedding photography is an inspiration, as is your modeling shoots.
Thank you!
+Jason Lanier Hey Jason, when you're shooting then through that narrow way under the light, what camera is that?
Awesome, thanks for sharing! You mentioned the a77ii, will there be a video where you use this camera and show some final images? Would love to see some shoots from you with this special camera! Take care
Thank you! This video has footage and shots taken with the A77ii...:)
+Jason Lanier okay cool. Thanks for the quick answer and don t stop doing these crazy and inspiring videos for all of us!
+Streetboarder89 you are very welcome..:)
Jason. I was in a dilemma between Nikon D5300 or Canon Ravel t5i or A6000 but seeing this video and I make the decision I'm going with Sony A6000
im pretty sure hes not getting paid theres no need for vr when the bodies are stabilized now
awesome video and photos. What is dome diffuser on your flash head? have you tried magmod magsphere? shopping around for diffuser on my flash head.
Jason, is that the new A99??? Please tell me me it is :))) Awesome shoot as always.
I loved it jason. what's a beautiful location
Great video! What VIDEO CAMERA was used to record this video?
Great Video!!
Hi Jason,
How can your shots be so full of light when shooting in the alley? Are you using any off-camera lights? Or you have changed some in camera settings?
Damn Jason you really inspire me......!!!
In low light how to stabilize shoot without tripod?what shuter speed and iso ? Great wedding shot .
good job !!!!!
Thank you!
hey +Jason Lanier which part of the shoot did you use the A7s??? from and to? and is it worth getting the original and not bothering with the much more expensive mark ii... i really hate noise for some reason and A7s will be much more pleasing than anything else right??? lol cheers and very good videos, love all of them. thanks mate.
+philip mitchell Get the A7Sii. Better ISO, 5 axis image stabilization, 4k video, and a much better grip and build than the original...:)
+Jason Lanier thank you buddy...! And image quality is ace also.?? Here all the stuff about the resolution isn't good enough for stills...! For us that don't know a great deal we really do not know what to get... We know you speak the truth so I guess what you recommend or what you advise as being "the camera for, our needs" I know get the gear that works for you...! Lol but the camera plays major roll in what we want to creat. I.e me shooting with as little noise, more crap light, darker night shooting, but then do we have to consider the trade of between resolution and pixels. Thanks for replying and hope this one makes sense...! In +Jason Lanier we trust haha. Request for you to go out with 3-4 cameras and shoot the same scene with all three...! Give us what we can then do with the files after ie big canvas, little canvas, just for the Internet.!!! I'm wanting a full frame a Sony and nothing else, but I'm getting frustrated as me personally like to go on recommendations too. Thank u
Hi Jason great work really inspiring. Can you tell me which brand of flashgun are you using?
I've seen Phottix and Nissin that use transmitters built into the flash. Can you add your advice. Thanks David
+David Brown Phottix..:)
Jason, at the 2:15 mark, other than your one back light, is that all just ambiant light behind you the lenght of the ship?
Amazing, high iso values outside?
I personally can't praise the Phottix Mitros units enough. They are so robust and reliable I've taken them into caves with me here in the NE US. That means lots of water, mud and tight spots.
so much Sir good work
When you say "poor man's light stand" what light are you placing on the ground behind the couple? What is it called where to buy?
Nice photos
Hi Jason,
This is Amit here from India and I'm just a big fan of you. I'm a new bee in photography, can you please help me to know from where should I start and how can I click as nice as you...
How in the world are you getting such good white balance? I use the 5DII and I'm constantly struggling in mixed lighting conditions.
Jason. What are some of your camera settings for the shoot? Best, William
Jason - how are you lighting up that observation deck box behind them?
I am wholesale stealing that flash trick. That is so amazing looking. Sorry, not sorry, but sorry.
Just got my first flashgun what accessories should I get first? Triggers, diffusers, stands?
Good stuff
Jason, what flashes are you using in the video?
Hi Sir, did you shoot on a99? I shoot weddings with two a99 and I still love them. Not a perfect camera but do the job.
Hi Jason
What do you think about Profoto TTL remote for Sony? Will it apear some day, if, I think would be great for Sony shooters and then maybe for myself bcs I thinling to become a Sony shoote.
Best regards

Hey Jason, I was wondering... have you considered using a "L" bracket for your camera, and shooting with a monopod --- with a Arca-Swiss ball head mount. I'm now finding out that ---- as I'm getting older, it's more critical for me when shooting in low light situations. And lately, I can see the difference... I got the idea from photographer, Joel Grimes. Anyway, take care and continued success!
Darrell of Meine Sicht Fotografie
Thanks for another great series of videos Jason.
Just wondering in regards to the off camera flash used on the ground behind them, how is it set? Do you set it to a fixed mm and at what power?
Bravo!
What did you do to your ISO and Apature that keeps you off flash in this kind of lighting, Sir?
I think better you would buy Barn for rotolight neo very awesome don't miss it .
Led illuminator which you are using?
awesome which camera a7rii??
is the Sony 77 mark 2 your favorite camrea verses Canon 5d mark 3 or Nikon?
Thank you very much N LULE
What Shutter, ISO, and Aperture did you use? Or recommend?
0:35 love it 👍🏻
You are great !
10
What's the floor light flash?
What were you bouncing the flash on ?
I just noticed something. When you use SLTs, you use the VF, but when you use mirrorless, you use the LCD. Why is that?
+fotoinajuicebox I am going to guess it is harder to keep the the SLT steady at arms length.
was about to ask why lanier is not using the rotolight,,, and its 2015 hahaha , been on your channel too deep man!
Try not to mess it up for her mike. 😄👍🏻. Great video thank u sir
which device was used at 0: 56s?External flash??
LONG BEACH!!
what a beautiful location
Sometimes it feels like Jason do not let couple feel free and do a bit of their poses, or at least it is just in a video.
+Jason Lanier, what would you do, specifically at @7:40 shot, if the groom was much shorter than the bride. How would you pose them?
How do you rent the Queen Mary?
photogasm xD
Hi jason, i have a sony a7ii and was shooting on studio today, but dont know how can i do it, because the evf is digital and when i go high with the aperture , i can't see to focus, anyone knows what should i do?
turn off live preview.
thanks for the help :)
how much Iso u used?
Dude we should connect I use a sony a6000 I would love to chat and ask some Qs :)
i like too witch how u shooting and i learn lat
13:45 what's causing all the grain????
+Jared Singleton its the editing program that he use to enchance the picture.
+Francine Vo Or it's just a lot of noise caused by using a high iso that you disguise by turning the image black and white.
I think he was using the A600 for these shots. He is using flash so I don't think its the high ISO. If you are a low ISO while using flash you get the noise on a crop sensor camera. That's my assessment.😉
@@MegaRay68 Look at the background on the pictures- it's brighter than on the video. The ISO is increased, no matter he used a flash.
Pictures looks grainy.
+Mark Prince Molina its from the program that he use to edit those picture.
Noise. Probably due to high ISO or uploading jpegs to the video.
