    I thoroughly enjoy instructional videos on various woodworking jigs, which help me better utilize my tools.

    This is the best design that I have seen. I liked how you used your jig to guide the chisel when squaring the corners.

    This is a very nice design. One needs to use the sub-base it was designed for, as well as the same size/diameter bit initially used.

    Clever. I’ll try making one. There are no plans for this on your site, but I think I can figure it out from your video. However, I would like to watch you making the bolts you show at 4:41.

      Oh, yes, I might do a jig for that soon. But it was very easy, i just cut out the shape with a band saw and rounded of the edges with a router table. I glued a small wood washer on the bottom and then sanded the whole knob. I made a 6 mm hole in the middle and a recess for the screw head. Next i pressed in the screw and that about it.

    Do I understand correctly?Should I always use the same diameter of blade I used when I made the jig? Because otherwise using a larger blade will gnaw at the jig. And if so, what diameter of milling blade do you recommend using?

    Недостатком данного проекта является то, что размер обрабатываемых деталей ограничен размерами подошвы фрезера. Если бы ползунки располагались внутри основных досок, этого бы не было. Правда,тогда пришлось бы применять копировальную втулку либо фрезу с верхним подшипником.

    What router bit is used allowing you to go right to edge, no bushings used, cheers

    • @awt
      @awt 2 месяца назад +1

      I'm not sure it's a particular bit, I think it's just the position of the fences that stops it cutting any further.

    • @DesireToInspire1
      @DesireToInspire1  Месяц назад +1

      As @awt said. Its the small fences that guide the router. The important part is to always use the same size of the bit when the jig is used.

    Hi. This was an excellent presentation. I have two questions. 1- what is the name of the liquid you put on the wood ? 2- what is the name of the bit you used to screw the insert ?

      How do I purchase the router jig

  • @sburgos9621
    @sburgos9621 4 месяца назад

    So how are you not cutting into the template guide? Is it because you made the distance from the thicker wood to the edge of the thin wood to match your edge of router base to the cutting part?

    • @DesireToInspire1
      @DesireToInspire1  4 месяца назад

      At 3:00 you can see how I trim the base to get the exact distance from the trim bit to the edge of the router base. This way i know that the base always have the same witch as the router base. This only work on round router bases.

      @@DesireToInspire1 I went back and saw that, thanks. I just finished gluing it up today and will try it out tomorrow once it's had some time to dry. I panicked for a moment yesterday when I assembled it incorrectly and it only changed size on one plane instead of both. I thought maybe I had done the build wrong since I did it my own way, but then looked again at your video and realized I had just assembled it improperly. Happy I found your video and cant wait to give this a shot. I did have several questions more actually. Since you measured from the edge of the wood to the edge of the bit I assume thins means that you have to stick with the same size bit, at least when routing the edges. Also my router base is about 3 inches wide except for one spot where it is not round but flat. I decided since the flat edge would probably be better to line up with the flat wood that I should just measure for that and turn the router so that edge is always against the edge of the jig.
