Ron gave him a test in their 2006 car and Lewis took that it with both hands and rang the neck off that thing...and then put it in the wall. Not only did it not ding his confidence, but he gave Alonso a run for his money during the entire race weekend. It is always about finding the limit, master it and move it further every chance they get. And so does Kimi. I cannot wait for the next time he gets in the car.

I was astounded by the amount of curb that Kimi was taking. And not just using lots of curb, but doing it with quite a lot of precision. He was pushing the car right to the edge and made it look fairly easy. He looked comfortable. The kid definitely has a ton of skill. That crash will be the kind of mistake he'll quickly learn from. He will be a force to reckon with in F1.
I think he was driving with confidence. I was a bit on edge the entire time, because he was taking every curb right to the gravel. A lot of good signs for a couple of laps. He made a surprising amount of mid-corner corrections, though. I’m pretty sure he spun, because he applied throttle too early. You can hear the engine revving right before the spin. All in all, this is classic Antonelli. He is very overeager in F2 as well - a bit like Tsunoda.
Ideally, he’d have replaced Sargeant or at least do next season at Williams. He can make some progress if they load up the FP1s for the rest of the season, but nowhere near some real experience
Kimi is the next Charles LeClerc, not the next Lewis or Max. But... nothing wrong with that. If I'm honest, he was INCREDIBLY spikey in his driver inputs (not good). I was astounded at the speed in spite of those inputs. Will be interesting seeing what comes of him.

That crash shows the issue Lewis is saying with the instability of the rear end in that mercedes.Is just bit Antonelli without warning like Lewis has been saying about the unpredictability of that Mercedes on high speed corners thats why he has been having problems to get the maximum out of the car in a 1 lap situation.
Crash or no crash Im convicned that he still has the juice. What he did today in a handful of laps in a car he never drove IRL is praise worthy. Besides a lot of people had problems in that corner.

Antoneli got balls.. He was going to have the fastest time if he didn't crash for the second time in five minutes. Also his crash wasn't like some huge mistake I don't even know why he crashed. After sector 2 he was 7 tenths ahead of Hamilton’s lap, 1.5 seconds faster than his own first lap. The guy was sending it the whole way.

He didn't warm up his tires properly, that's why he lost grip. That's why he said he should have built up his lap.
To me it looked like he picked up a bit of dirt just before the corner, he was quite far left on/over the white line which I think contributed

It's only practice where everyone is running different setups and it was quite early on in practice.
I think the kid is being overpressured, is he as good as Lewis was when Lewis made the jump to F1? I don't think so.
