Y'all got the whole fact twisted. The truth is in fact it's TPLF/ Woyane not Shabiya who effectively weakened and ultimately defeated the huge DERG army. Hadn't it been for TPLF's methodical and scientific way of warfare style for a cause, today eplf/Shabiya would've been reduced to a small hit and run terrorist group roaming around the Sahel desert if not completely wiped out by the mighty DERG army. DERG made a monumental mistake underestimating TPLF, a more determined take-it-to-death guerrilla fighters. Instead of applying the-lesser-evil principle, hence dealing with TPLF which fought for the people of Tigray as well as rest of Ethiopia regions autonomy rights under one nation- ( a federal system that is), stupid DERG chose to deal with Shabiya, a group that was financed and sponsored by Arabs mainly Egypt, a historical enemy, whose only ambition has always been the constant destabilization of Ethiopia. Once stupid DERG made that infamous secret agreement with Shabiya to block international humanitarian food to enter for starving people in Tigray which as a result thousands of tigrean mothers and children perished, consequently any slim chance to work with TPLF died with it once and for all. DERG chose a group that fought to secede from Ethiopia thus destabilize it over a group which fought merely to change the status quo- a new and fair for all political, social and economical system. Today, despite the adversity, TPLF aka EPRDF has changed the status quo once for all and more or less kept the Ethiopian nation intact under a federal system where as eplf aka higdef work day and night to destabilize Ethiopia by being a proxy for Egypt. The people of Tigray will never ever forget the infamous secret deal made between the two enemies( DERG and Shabiya) that killed thousands of innocent tigreans!!! That's the truth.

TPLF was founded by ShaEbiya in 1975 and never controlled any city or village in Tigray up untill 1988 only when Nadew Ezi was defeated by Shaebiy then Derg brought all his Armies who were sleeping in Tigray to Eritrea to fight shaebiya.
