I'm so glad that so many people are now playing through this game a few months before the remaster comes out, and I'm all for it. This series is amazing, and Soul Reaver is my favorite PS1 game of all time
@@mepose420 i started playing it after seeing some youtube videos about it and love the vibe of this game. Before i only knew the title, minimal english and remember wondering what a "soulreaver" could possibly be.
What a memories, my first game on the series but the best one of the whole franchise is the first Blood Omen (1996) which I hope some far far away day see a remaster with a fastforward time mechanic for the full moon caves and some button dedicated to switch weapons and spells without the need of enter a menu, the graphics are not outdated because of the top down perspective so in that regard a polish on the graphics should not be so hard to realize, the real problem I guess will be acquire the license.
I really hope they overhaul it. The ideas were their, it was just the gameplay that needed updating. Keep everything. The werewolf form, the blood fountains. All of it. Just 3D the whole thing.
@@Dehslash9 Neither. Legacy of Kain Has always been in many ways unique. Held back mostly by technological limitations. Given the supernatural creature aspect and the very clear potential for horror. I think it's gameplay would be much better if you mix elements of the original Devil May Cry for atmosphere. And God of War/Hellblade camera angles. You have vampires, a grim reaper esque creature, grotesque mutations, and a dying world. Make it creepy.
@@Dehslash9 Witcher style I could see. Not so much Elden Ring. The issue comes down to the character and the presentation. In Elden Ring, you play as a weak nobody who isn't supposed to be able to compete, hence the struggle for success. Playing as Kain, you are playing as a serious and well known threat. I experienced this while playing Darksiders 3. Sure I was playing as a horseman of the apocalypse, but I sure as hell didn't feel like it, compared to the other games. If you have a badass character, make him the badass in gameplay as well as story.
i'd highly recommend you check out Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, i think you'd love it, it's an excellent game. i'd recommend the GOG version as it comes with the unofficial update pack which fixes various bugs etc.

@NephoraTV i particulary like the "abyss" soundtrack. I think it's enigmatic and meditative.
I wish more goths and alt people would play this series. It has an amazing story from a time when that was much harder to accomplish in video games.
I don't know how I ended up on this channel but seeing someone play Soul Reaver makes my heart sing.
