Like “it’s too early for kids to talk about gender and have thoughts of their own” but you can totally trust them with everything else apparently. Edit: I will bring this issue here actually. (Just this comment section) Let’s be honest. Kids aren’t really given that much attention. They’re supposed to act a certain way, behave a certain way. And that way is decided by an adult who is taking of them in that moment and their own mood. Sure there’s a proper way to behave, but rarely do care takers care about that. A kid’s feelings are usually dismissed so the adult can be more comfortable. When a kid cries, everyone will try to stop them for the sake of stopping them, not because they are actually trying to assess the situation and make the kid feel better. Most situations are led by adults. This sketch is such a good example of that. This is how teachers behave. And I’m not gonna take the time to analyze the behavior, but I will say that my original comment is relevant. Adults are concerned over kids and teens learning how the world works with classes on race, and introduction to gender, literary works, etc, because they think kids are too young and fragile and what ever excuse. But everyone always seems to forget that kids learn and persevere. They’re stronger than everyone thinks. They understand what the teacher asks, they can analyze what it means for them to pick up that chair. They can do so much. But people refuse to see that kids are literally people. So yea, people says “kids are too young to learn about gender and race” but they’re old enough to do everything else.

This reminds me of one time I had a teacher and she was testing me and another child’s ability to follow instructions and listen or to understand social cues and whatever since we both had autism. Once it was finished she asked me if I could get some other kids for her who needed to do the same test. But when I said I wasn’t comfortable she said ‘oh of course that’s fine if your not comfortable I completely understand” and since that day she has earned my respect.
Omg no but it hurts when she says “someone I can trust please.. (looks at you) no, hand down please, I need someone who will actually come back to class”
Alr sad story So the last time my art teacher asked me something it was to get the walkie talkie out of her room, I got her the thing and then a week later she died. I’m still crying about it we all loved her as the art teacher.
I never let teachers choose me for their “little jobs” bc I’m always scared I’ll get in trouble for touching teachers stuff, even if I have permission xD
I’ve done so many “little jobs” for teachers , most of them consisted of going to the printer room and working the printer to get like 20 pages of the same thing then going back and her saying they weren’t the right ones then I had to go all the way back to find out the printer staff had already printed them and I just needed to talk to them 😐
My teacher used to sell ice bars and me and my friend would have the key to go get them from the teacher break room fridge before lunch, i used to love that and my teacher always told us to be careful not to be seen because she would get in trouble if they knew we were in there, it also was hard because people in the halls will ask for free ice bars and we had to run for them not to be stolen
It’s always a Maddison I swear, there is this one Maddison, she’s in like 3 of my classes, she is REALLY SMART don’t get me wrong, I’m smart too, but THIS GIRL is DEVIOUSLY SMART, the teacher asked someone to get her coffee out of the teachers lounge and Maddison whispers to me “I’ve been working as a teachers pet my whole life for this moment” assuming that she was gonna just be like “oh yes mrs wade I’ll do it for u🤓 “ she raised her hand quietly and got the keys and went to the lounge, when she got back she handed the coffee to the teacher and sat down. A few minute after the teacher took a sip of the drink and said “GREAT HEAVENS OF THE SALTY SEAS” we all looked back in confusion of her teacher slang, then she said “ugh do u guys not understand, it’s as salty as the sea” then Maddison turned over to me and said “that’s what I’ve been waiting to do” This moment I will never forget😂
“Jamie, I said someone responsible put your hand down.” As someone in a class with a twit called Jamie I felt that. The really exciting little ''little job'' in our school would be getting the stuff from the printer
For me it would be something like ‘go take the phones to the office’
Especially if the paper was warm by the time you got there! Or maybe that was just me XD
The most a teacher would trust us with would be "go get my marker from the 4th floor" how tf y'all getting the teacher's keys and shit
Going to the staffroom was such a cool thing for us
