Edit:To be clearer the kids in year 6 used to get given jobs at lunch time and for the whole week that was my job cause the year 3’s were making businesses where they would sell toilet paper flowers and stuff it was stupid

Like “it’s too early for kids to talk about gender and have thoughts of their own” but you can totally trust them with everything else apparently.
Edit: I will bring this issue here actually. (Just this comment section)
Let’s be honest. Kids aren’t really given that much attention. They’re supposed to act a certain way, behave a certain way. And that way is decided by an adult who is taking of them in that moment and their own mood. Sure there’s a proper way to behave, but rarely do care takers care about that. A kid’s feelings are usually dismissed so the adult can be more comfortable. When a kid cries, everyone will try to stop them for the sake of stopping them, not because they are actually trying to assess the situation and make the kid feel better. Most situations are led by adults.
This sketch is such a good example of that. This is how teachers behave. And I’m not gonna take the time to analyze the behavior, but I will say that my original comment is relevant.
Adults are concerned over kids and teens learning how the world works with classes on race, and introduction to gender, literary works, etc, because they think kids are too young and fragile and what ever excuse. But everyone always seems to forget that kids learn and persevere. They’re stronger than everyone thinks. They understand what the teacher asks, they can analyze what it means for them to pick up that chair. They can do so much. But people refuse to see that kids are literally people.
So yea, people says “kids are too young to learn about gender and race” but they’re old enough to do everything else.

Once it was finished she asked me if I could get some other kids for her who needed to do the same test. I get so embarrassed after I come back empty handed and telling the teacher I couldn’t find it in front of the whole class. And then she sends another person and they find it- it’s the most embarrassing thing ever.

The really exciting ‘little job’ would be to go to other class rooms and take there recycling bin to the BIG recycling bin.
Really on everyone wanted to do this was because they got to skip class and you needed this ✨special✨ key to unlock the gate where the bins were😅😂

In sixth grade, I was always the “good kid” and my science teacher would always send me downstairs to the cafeteria to get her snacks, anything from cookies, soft pretzels, or potato chips. Looking back, I should’ve gotten myself a snack while I was downstairs 💀
