    I started learning to code at the ripe age of 36 and got hired at 39 all the hard work was worth it, actually life-changing. Great video.

    Answer about the recession, I just asked this question, and here is the answer I got. Apply to any industry involved in food and daily need amenities, they will be hiring. Are local supermarkets HEB hiring like crazy. Whereas some other tech companies laying folks off or doing hiring freezes.

    I'm not 30 yet but I'm close and I am unemployed and a career switcher. In my previous profession (medicine) I was always inspired by people who switched into it later in life. I'm one of the strange ones who switched out of medicine into something else. You have to be really humble as a career switcher. The advantage is you typically are much "wiser" than the average, eg. better work-life balance, career goals, etc, and have a lot more real-life examples to pull from for behavioral interviews.

    @bobby, thanks for this! was just contemplating CSS variables yesterday (Sass) and reading that regular CSS added them. now if CF had a lesson on how to do MVVM compared to MVC...

    I am 42 and unemployed. I’ve many years experience in customer service. I want learn to code, I am also ready to move anywhere (I am Italian) I’ve just started by myself learning HTML and CSS. I am a absolutely beginner but I am enjoying it. I want to enroll to a full time bootcamp. Any suggestions? Italy it’s quite close-minded about that.

    If I'm doing coding just for the stable career and monetary reward, how do I hide that in an interview when asked why I switched careers?

    • @CoderFoundry
      @CoderFoundry  2 года назад +1

      That is not a bad motivation but also make sure that you speak That you really enjoy it as well.

    My opinion only. My assumption is most people over 40 are not unemployed, they are most likely underemployed or never built a sustainable career. This may the last chance to switch careers, while somewhat healthy.

    Unless you are good at exams, don't do it - each interview will consist of an test similar to a degree level exam, with a 100% pass requirement.

    • @CoderFoundry
      @CoderFoundry  Год назад

      You absolutely can train for interviews. Don't be dismayed. People do this every day.

    • @CoderFoundry
      @CoderFoundry  2 года назад +3

      Yeah, we meet people who feel 40 is too old to start. So we made the picture as a metaphor how people feel about 40

    Bizarre to have a thumbnail of an 80+ guy when talking about 40’s

    • @CoderFoundry
      @CoderFoundry  2 года назад +2

      It's a metaphor. Some people view 40 as really old. We do not. Some people few 40 as too late to change careers or learn to code. Hence the reason for the card.
