Jonathan Curtis has got this series of videos regarding snare drum hand technique. I highly recommend to any beginner or intermediate drummer to scroll back his channel and watch all of those videos. (I can’t speak for advanced drummers - I’m not one - but I’m pretty sure that even advanced drummers may find something useful in those.)
As an intermediate drummer myself, I sometimes am under a false impression that I know a certain subject - such as double strokes - and I know it well. And yet I always find these little but critically important pieces of information in these videos that I either didn’t know of or did know of but wasn’t paying enough attention to.
All I can say is that whenever I watch (and apply to my practice later) Jonathan’s deeply analytical technique videos, my own technique gets better and better every time.
So do yourself a favor - find and watch all of those videos. You will not regret it!

I’ve watched 3 of your vids on technique; singles, doubles and buzz rolls over the last few days and every one of them has shone my flaws. 45 yrs of off and on drumming….
I watched the doubles yesterday and today I pretty much have it down. What I did I before on doubles was gripping thumb and first finger-relying on bounces. Sounds decent but hard to control. Now I’m doing it with middle and ring fingers for the second accent. It’ll take a couple months, at least to internalize it, but I’m dedicated to getting it right.
I’m most afraid of watching another video cuz it’ll expose another weakness but bring it on the same.
I just wanted to say I appreciate the time you take to make these videos.
    Thank you sir!
