A friend of mine said the same thing once. He bought 100 scratchcards and "won" 40 euro.
So.. he was down 60.
I dont like scratchcards much. Winrate is way too low. Gotta be superlucky if ever want to hit big prize that covers all cards ever bought. Chances are way too slim.
The lottery in the States were it is legal are the big winners. Remember the majority of people that play lose money 💰over time Gambling unless you hit a big win and those are few and far between. if you hit a couple of numbers near the winning #'s (eg you get a 26 and a 28 with a winning # of 27) the most you will get is a free ticket, and it seems to be a 1:20 ish odds for that

Mathematicians tell you on a whole sale basis this type of playing results in the largest losses. It is best to play consecutive tickets in the same pack. This is in 1:208 for example....a 20 pk of tickets will yield will 10 wins (this is over hundreds of thousands as a lead) . So for each ticket you buy you have a 50% chance to win. However if you buy two in a row you have a statistical return of 100%. Some lottery games even have settings built in to insure the 10 wins in those consecutive 20. So when someone buys like you do..1 off each roll/pack, you never increase your odds above 50. This is why you just suffered this huge loss. Whereas if you would’ve purchased off the same roll you would’ve likely received the entire packs winners. And since each game also has a breakdown of large to small wins, you increase your overall chances of a large win if you play consecutive tickets. For those Mathletes out there, please recognize I’m calculating overall odds , not individual ticket odds. Those do not change and are predetermined. Hope that makes sense. Anyway....
