hmm this is a pretty cool idea! I guess I just figured it could be minority spoilery but I didn't consider that some people might not. be able to see these in person before purchasing it
Yessssss needed some more graphic novel recs!! Heartstopper was also THE novel that everyone was recommending me when I asked for graphic novels recommendations! Thanks for making my TBR grow even more 😂
Orange is one of my favorite manga and anime. But it’s sooo good. And the continuation of orange is called orange future (which follows my favorite character )
Aww I love this! It gives me hope for my own (WIP) graphic novel and I hope my readers will all be like you!!! As creators we love putting our hearts into our stories and artwork, and responses like this make it all worthwhile ❤️
oOOooo love the wavy hair! I have the Steel Prince on my TBR! I read a bit of it and I feel like the illustrations were so hard to read lol. The drawings went rogue on me and I had no idea what was going on.. so I totally know what you mean! I actually had to ask my boyfriend who reads lots of comics what was going on and he explained that I need to REALLY look at the illustrations to understand lol. AAHHHH I HOPE YOU LOVE SAGA ITS AMAZING!! The TV character is my favourite haha. I read Monsters and I had no idea what was going on.. the art was beautiful though lol, YAS to death note. Deathnote was my first manga I read a couple months ago and it was amazing. alright, you got some gems. good haul!!
Fables is actually my favourite graphic novel! The art style is amazing and the dialogue is super easy to understand. its fairy tales for adults. So the "big bad wolf" is a detective and he has a thing for Snow White.. like its awesome. check it out!
I'm glad you mentioned Paper Girls. I was reading that in single issues as it came out, and it's one of my favorite titles of the last decade. I even wrote an article about it a while ago after the final issue came out, talking about the book's unique take on the coming-of-age story.
Oh boy I needed this. For far too long I only read superhero comics and last year after reading The Sandman I decided to finally beach out. I really want to read Mike Carey's Lucifer but I'm waiting for when I want a more cerebral story. I've also read Paper Girls which is amazing as well as the first 4 volumes of Saga. I really need to get on Monstress though. Everyone is loving and it sounds like it's a perfect story for me.
Just found your channel and subscribed! I love that you sound so down to earth! Some youtubers sound so fake like they're putting on a fake voice and act. Love the vibes you give off! Excited to see which books you recommend! I really enjoy Manga, but I'm recently getting into Graphic Novels as well!
I just started reading Graphic novels this year too and I'm so glad I did. My two favourite series are Monstress and The Wicked and the Divine. Also, I love Giant Days, I Hate Fairyland and you should check out Blackbird. Jen Bartel's artwork is stunning.
There is a couple of more biography graphic novels I read that I really liked: Maus by Art Spigelman, and Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi. I also really liked the V for Vendetta graphic novel, and the Watchmen Graphic Novel.
Two of my all time favorite graphic novels are actually originally webcomics but the physical volumes can be bought on amazon and they are: The Phoenix Requiem and Inverloch, both by Sarah Ellerton. The writing and art are both so gorgeous!
Thanks for the recs!! I just got into graphic novels and picked up Saga but I bought the compendium so I had all of them at once 😅 I like it a lot so far!!! I think I am going to buy Monstress next. Sounds right up my alley
Your's is the best review of Monstress amongst the ones I've seen! I lovvvv the series and everytime you appreciated something about it I was like yes! Yes! Exactly!! Yes! 😍😂😂 Suggestions: Lady Mechanika (also steam punky), if you haven't read and reviewed it already.
I need to buy more! I only have Monstress Vol.1, Saga Vol. 1-3, Clockwork Prince graphic novel and The Promised Neverland which you should read! Or watch there are only 12 Episodes but S2 is in the works.
While talking about Heartstopper (which I love too) you can read the most recent chapters, which are from the end of the third volume on the app Tapas for free (you can become a patreon too). Alice Oseman posts them there herself so it's legal and all.
Pewdiepie talked about his most favorite manga, the video title is "My favourite manga". I read it, and I love it, to the point it's become dear to me. Although its the kind of thing whether you like it or not, it depends on how you interpreting it. Maybe you would like it. Also, his book review series has introduced some of the finest novels out there.
I just bought Monstress based on your recommendation! Can’t wait to read it. A graphic novel series you should check out is Y: The Last Man. It’s so so good and has great humour! Highly recommend 👌
Steampunk you got me, I'll check monstress it is sooo beautiful!! It made me think of Cinder (lunear chronicles). Death note was one of my favourite manga back at that time. I've heard a lot about orange but never tried it yet. Thank you for your advices!
As soon as you mentioned steampunk I held my breath...but you didnt say" Lady Mechanika "..!! Monstress is awesome I agree but the artwork in ' Mechanika is stunning..try and check it out..!!!
NO JOKE ITS SO GOOD(its about too guys who look the same (youll get it when you read it) and they were born in the wrong the humen one was born in the world below and the fay (youll about fays ) was born in the world above (humen world) and the fays aunt( hawthrone) killed the humen boys (the childe and edmund) step mom and they try to defeat hawthrone and they have sister named Alexis who went with them and whick who was made to protect the childe because the parents knew hawthrone was evil!
Fun fact, when I told Marjorie that I loved Kippa when the Monstress had just started coming out, she decided it would be fun to tell me that originally her intention was going to be to kill Kippa off but then everyone just loved her so much and she started getting attached so Kippa got to live.
Ok, I have a lot of recommendations! Have you ever heard about The Witcher's graphic novels? The first one is called " House Of Glass". Weird art style, but I liked it. You should check out On a Sunbeam by Tillie Walde (sci-fi, LGBT, emotional) and The Umbrella Academy vol 1 by Gerard Way. As far as Manga, I think you would like The Girl from the Other Side by Nagabe, Marry Grave by Hidenori Yamaji ( fantasy) and The Case Study of Vanitas ( fantasy, vampires). I could go on and on about manga, but I'll stop. xD
You should watch and Read Rwby it's the best Anime And The Characters are the best I Recommend you to watch the series first and then the Manga because the manga is mostly about their backstory and During the first 2 Volumes There are 5 Manga as of right now But we are getting 4 more Next year And I feel like you would like it Btw If you do watch the series and get the manga you can read the Manga after Volume 4 or You can read it after Volume 7 But You Should Wtach the trailers first The Red and White and Black and Yellow trailers in that order
Saga is going to ruin your life. Watch. Lol I am not super into sci-fi or space shit, and I was being a hater bitch about Saga, but now...I’m in love. 🖤 I bought Montress a few months ago but haven’t read it. So excited!
its funny how you didnt mention or your didnt know that the same author of saga is the author of paper girls. LOve both, but saga is my fav of all time, you have to keep going with saga!!! it gets so emotional. Also i recommend one of brian k vaughans first graphic novel(bundle) which is Y; the last man. Its soo good and interesting, but also thought-provoking. Its about this man Yorick and his monkey aspen and how all the men get killed off and he is the last man alive. its freaking amazing and def one of my favs. Please check it out
Want some cute shit definitely read Princess Jellyfish and a classic Fruits BasketsAnother manga you should read is BEASTARS! It’s such a page turner ! It looks cute but then there are some dark twist and great character development!
I was on the same boat as you regarding Death Note. I finished watching the anime then held off on buying the manga. It's been years now so I was like: what the heck, I'll buy them. Death Note is a really smart manga (and anime). It's great to see it around booktube. Great haul, would love to see more!
I will never understand why people who mainly read books put tabs in their books. Like book marks make sense but when u fill the book with tabs like why?
I absolutely adore Saga, it gets so good and deep as it battles dark problems that we face in todays society. The nudity isn't for most but it doesn't bother me. Also, I feel like I'm the only person in the word that doesn't like Death Note, everybody raves about it but I just can't get into it at all. I'm bored with it.
Its not unusual. When I was growing up middle school was the age the so many kids were experimenting. There's a lot of different reasons kids would smoke and its the 80s which made things easier to get.
Thank you for sharing your lovely finds. I would suggest to consider showing us a page or two of each book so we can see the artwork style inside.
YESSS PLEASEE I love graphic novels!!
hmm this is a pretty cool idea! I guess I just figured it could be minority spoilery but I didn't consider that some people might not. be able to see these in person before purchasing it
@@BrittanytheBibliophile And in my country, the books are wrapped in plastic so you won't be able to open it. So showing the art style helps :)
You just google it :)
Yessssss needed some more graphic novel recs!!
Heartstopper was also THE novel that everyone was recommending me when I asked for graphic novels recommendations!
Thanks for making my TBR grow even more 😂

ooo I'm so glad to hear that I wasn't the only one that had a hard time with the drawing style!! and thank you, I'll definitely check those out ☺️
I'm glad you mentioned Paper Girls. I was reading that in single issues as it came out, and it's one of my favorite titles of the last decade. I even wrote an article about it a while ago after the final issue came out, talking about the book's unique take on the coming-of-age story.

Pewdiepie talked about his most favorite manga, the video title is "My favourite manga". I read it, and I love it, to the point it's become dear to me. Everyone just keeps on recommending Saga, I don't really find it interesting but maybe I should just give the devil his due and read it.
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I absolutely adore Saga, it gets so good and deep as it battles dark problems that we face in todays society. The nudity isn't for most but it doesn't bother me.
Also, I feel like I'm the only person in the word that doesn't like Death Note, everybody raves about it but I just can't get into it at all. I'm bored with it.
What do you mean when you say "wholesome"?? 🤔
Usually rated E for Everyone and feel good
YOU NEED TO READ ESTRANGED
Wait... So the girls in "Paper Girls" are 12 years old? Then why is one of them smoking on the cover?
Its not unusual. When I was growing up middle school was the age the so many kids were experimenting. There's a lot of different reasons kids would smoke and its the 80s which made things easier to get.
the 80's were wild I guess
“Sweet and wholesome”?
🙄
