Thanks Kurt! I am leaning towards some brown leather also! I think it will go nice with the green micarta. I'm a sucker for the brown leather white stitch combo.
That is a great fit on those handle scales! Im absolutely loving that farriers rasp. It frigging rips through wood. Im super impressed you did the handle completely by hand. An awesome series I'm excited for part 3. With your leather work I'd definitely do a leather sheath.
Glad you're liking the rasp man!!! It really does hog off wood nicely. I will admit I did use the 4X36 sander to take some material off but then did the majority of shaping by hand. I'm leaning on making a simple leather sheath for this. I think it will complement the micarta nicely.
Looks great! Since it is a vintage blade shape I would keep the sheath simple. Mid brown leather with white stitching looks really nice with green canvas micarta I think.
Thanks Brett I appreciate it!! I'm a sucker for the brown leather and white stitching combo. I agree it would go well with the vintage look. Maybe a few copper rivets too.
That turned out really nice Nate. I can't wait to see what kind of sheath you come up with. Fire hose works similar to leather except it's difficult to keep track of drilled holes because of the rubber lining.
Thanks man!!!! I'm definitely excited to try working with it. I'm thinking I may do leather for this knife but will try a full cover boys axe sheath. I've been needing to make one for a while now.
Thanks Darren! The plans are to put it into service at the BBQ smoker but generally it will live in the kitchen. Though, when we have some drinks things occasionally get forgotten outside until the next morning lol.
Love the color of the handle. Turned out great !
Thanks Joey! It was a fun build. It should be useful when we get back to BBQ season!
Turned out really nice, I'd go a mid brown leather with white stitching or black leather w green stitching. Good work!

I like it Nate! I think you did a great job on it. I can't wait for part 3.
Thanks Chad I appreciate it! It's been a fun project so far!!

Good job looks very nice. If it's going to be outside, i would use waterproof materal for sheath. Darren
