Look, shipping them is fine until it is strictly kept in the fandom. People sometimes act like shipping actors is a first degree murder level crime and that’s just plain stupid. They KNOW how fanservice works and of course people are gonna ship two good-looking people no matter the gender. I had a close relation with a guy like that, we were both in the military overseas, I'm black he is white. Then I was transferred to a new duty station, but it was a fun 2 years together. We kept in touch as best we could, but we ended up on different side of world. We both married and started our own families, but it was a blast serving with that guy.
In the age of the internet and especially during this pandemic... no better time to get back in touch. Maybe convince him to watch The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
