    Who else already tried Knife Throwing Method by Ralph Thorn?

    • @TheRealRomansThirteen
      @TheRealRomansThirteen 8 месяцев назад +3

      Be honest though did you ever try out with the duct tape? I read the book I watched the film hours and hours of it. He used to get these insane throws from incredible distances. I think you can still find the pdf online for free. That's an old name. He was the first one to introduce combat knife throwing. A lot of people still think it's impossible to throw a knife and use it as combative tool. Adam I'm telling you with your accuracy every knife is a bullet.

    • @TheShurikenZone
      @TheShurikenZone 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@TheRealRomansThirteen Anyone who says there's no room for throwing blades in real combat... especially when firearms are not involved... is nuts. Shurikenjutsu is fairly well documented, certainly, and modern no-spin knife throwing is no different, fundamentally. As you said, especially with Adam's skill, those knives are terrifying.
      Adam, I've not tried the Thorn method, per se, but I've watched a lot of the footage, and I feel like I've learned a lot from it; Thorn was quite a trailblazer. I'm looking forward to the video.👍👍

    Ralf Thorn certainly was cool and got me started in No Spin. Fedin put even more backspin from the hips to the style. Both got away from neutral balance knives to bias weight to the back...or even front, but not neutral in the middle.
    I had a heck of a time working it all out, but then that was before you and Tom Tom put out your content. The Combat Thrower was another good source. Now there are loads more adding their take, some better than others. Wish I had started 25 years earlier!
    Anyhow, it is a great fun sport for anyone. Best piece of advice is get some decent weight arrow style knives. Medium to heavy for girls, and heavyish for men, just never feather light weight rubbish. Ah, so you do know of R Thorn, this guy taught me no spin throwing literally from watching his videos from 2010, it's is a very deadly skill you got if one has the determination to become good at it, it took me hundreds of hours accumulative time over 12 years it must have, dunno how many hours exactly but it takes time to become as good as this

      It IS The best for combat purposes, but one has to be very determined, because it isn't easy, you make it look easy 😆😆😆, I could make it look easy, but telling you guys, it isn't easy, pals that tried to learn it gave up after a few weeks because it is was too damn much work and too difficult, as said it takes a certain character learn a skill like this, for the majority it is easier to carry a handgun, six year old kid could kill with a handgun, doesn't take much skill, despite how much the up play awww, the training you need to handle and firearm

      I only made several videos of when I first cracked it back around 2012, I still have them, should get them up on YT Channel,
      but I am a lot better now, nowhere as great as Adam, but good enough, more than adequate at 7 yards;
      I researched that Maximum is about 7 to 9 yards is best to attack with a throwing knife when the target knows you are there; because beyond 9 yards they can see the knife 🔪 coming and can dodge it

      I swear by it; it has become as instinctive as breathing Bud, I would go so far as to say it is the only throwing method guys ought to be good at,
      Master R Thorn with the duct tape to balance knives is great advice for beginners, but he was right in saying that balance or whatever you throw doesn’t matter to a Skilled thrower;
      You get to the point you can throw and stick anything in 🥢🍴🥄🍽️🪥🧹🪠😆😆😆

    Is this the technique you use? I am trying to understand the differences between this method and SKANF. The finger sliding down spine the other finger springs? I can stick less than 3 meters, at 3m nothing and I can't figure where I am making the mistake. Thank you again for your time and responses .

    • @AdamCeladin
      @AdamCeladin  7 месяцев назад

      From start go with simple baseball technique like Ralph did and work on step back drills around 2,5 meters, it's best technique anyway, skanf throwers don't have almost no results in comps technique is too over complicated IMO looks mainly cool on video and that's it,)

Or throwing knives, but with the same weight, sharpening and blade profile. Just not with the same gel as last time XD. Preferably with boneless meat. , in clothing, if it were possible to also cover it with a piece of soft ballistics such as Kevlar Zdrowia i Sily

    You yourself have said that the no spin throw is only useful up to around 6 or 7 meters, and that a very well trained expert could maybe hit accurately up to 20 meters. You also operate under the assumption that you always carry knives in your hand ready for throwing. I think you vastly underestimate an enemy's ability to close a distance of 6 meters quickly. You'd be shot or stabbed 9 times out of 10 before you could draw your knife and raise your arm for a throw. As a fun hobby or sport, this is great. But as a practical combat tool, i think there are a thousand better options.

    • @stephanieherman2861
      @stephanieherman2861 6 дней назад

      i guess adam carries his knives always with him bro. when he leaves his house he always takes the keys, the mobile and a set of knives with him.
      fun aside, one question to you. lets say you are about to attack a guy carrying a dagger that is 6 meters away. how likely is it that you feel the urge to close the distance to that guy. i mean he is carrying a dagger. it is probably very dangerous if you get into hand to hand range. and then how likely is it that you expect getting hit by a perfectly sticking dagger when you are 6 meters away. you will probably be very surprised.
