I know this video is a couple of years old, but I’m having to switch from Davinci to Premiere for a new job. This is hands down the most helpful PP color grading video I’ve been able to find!!
YAY! So excited for these! Thank you for walking us through your process. Didn't even realize Premiere was desaturating colors! Can't wait to use this workflow & your LUTs in my next edit!
The biggest thing is getting exposure right when you shoot the footage. If you don't, then you have to worry a lot more about correcting the footage before you grade it, involving using the scopes and all that stuff, which is helpful, but it's a lot nicer when you can do it by eye, especially for edits that need done quickly.
Tested the Alexa 35 with 17 Stops Dynamic Range is really a game changer and blew me away. To import LUTs you can also use the Premiere Pro icon right click see package content and copy the LUTs in that folder. It's way easier :) Thank me later lol
This solved a long-standing issue for me, Eric, thank you! I purchased the Colour Grading Central course a few years ago and I tried multiple ways to install the LUTs but wasn't successful. On a side note, I wasn't aware of the limit that Premiere has under the "Creative" option. After clicking on the dropdown, I get to preview/select only the first few of the LUTs that I had copy pasted in the "Creative" folder. Is there a workaround this? I just realised that the "Re-saturate" LUT isn't available anymore, do you know where to find it?
I am switching to PP from FCP and it seems that it automatically converts my log footage so when I apply a corrective LUT it seems to look off. Is that normal?
Hello, how do I set the camera and how do I set Premier Pro so that after recording in log format, all clips after editing and adding LUT have the same color even though they were recorded at different time intervals (for example, one clip was recorded at 11 and the next at 16 or on one the sun was behind the clouds and on the other it wasn't)
Thanks for the great information, Eric! I just got a LUT from Canon. There are three folders according to grid size and there are two in each folder(Log 2 and Log3). Could you please help me understand which to choose?
Great video!! So should the conversion LUT and the creative LUT always be applied on the same adjustment layer? In regards to exporting, does the video lose saturation if it's exported through Media Encoder? I always export that way. I shoot mainly concert footage. Any LUTs you may recommend for that type of video?
Thank you for sharing this and for creating the luts! I've really been enjoying them! Question. With your C70, do you use any of the in camera noise reduction/spatial filtering? Do you also typically shoot at ISO800 or do you adjust your ISO as needed? Thank you keep up the great work Eric!
Hi Eric - QQ if you don't mind, as I learn about this. I have a Mavic 3 Pro and was about to press the button on your 606 LUTs, but in the tech specs, it only mentions regular cameras and not drones. Does this mean that your creative LUTs are only for those cameras, or can LUTs be used for any camera..? Thanks for helping me understand.
What is the difference between Library > Application Support > Adobe > Common > LUTs > (then create the Creative & Technical ) Folder vs. Finding Premiere Pro (right Click) > Show Package Content > Contents > Lumetri > LUTS > then it shows 3 folders named Creative, Legacy, and Technical ?????? please if you could answer this!
thank you so much for this video Eric. Always thankful for the content you put out for all of us. I have a question, can I use the lut on my nikon z6ii? I like the look on your videos. thank you!
Super simple and solid workflow man! Everyone grades different but it was so nice seeing your simplified process. I have a few questions! Do you ever look at your scopes while making basic adjustments? To see where you whites/black and all that are, or just whatever looks right to you? Also, do you prefer the gamut rec709 luts over the standard ones canon provides? I don't have CLOG2, just CLOG3 on my R6, but not a big fan of canon's. Congrats on the LUT pack, they look great and timeless. Solid tutorial man!
So, 606 is just a creative look, so you can put it on top of anything. As far as black magic support through Gamut, if it’s the same log curve, then their black magic rec709 should work as a base before you apply 606 🤙🏼
"if you want cinematic footage you need dynamic range." (says Eric sitting in a room with extremely limited dynamic range drenched in completely clipped shadows.) LOL

Can already tell that your LUTs will remain timeless 📸👏🏼
Really appreciate that commentary 😭
Will definitely get these. They look like such a versatile collection of LUTs. Appreciate everything you do, first rate as always.
Aw man! Thanks so much, Daniel!!

Ah thanks so much!! Hope you enjoy the LUTs!!
Excited to give your LUTS a try man. Keep on with the great content 💪🏼
So stoked for you to try them out!! Hope you love them! :)

What a great video! Thank you for making this and congrats on the collab with Gamut :)

The "Re-Saturate LUT from Adobe" isn't there anymore (dead link). Could you provide it?
Please, this would be awesome!
😢
Super clear. Great learning. The video I have been looking for.!!!
I love your process ! This is the route I wanna go. Do you also match clips by eye?
So where can I download the LUT's?
Now if only I could edit my photos with these… haha! Amazing job mate!
606 presets are live too 👀 in the description 🤙🏼
@@EricFloberg 🫠 Rad!
Cheers. Browse your Finder to LUTs, right-click, make an Alias, drag it onto your desktop.
Good video Eric thanks for the share
11:41 in the video just threw me into a massive rabbits hole of searching about RAW VIDEO. Finally found a video that talks about that. WOW.

SUPER AMPED FOR THESE!! Which one have you been using for your RUclips videos? I love the warm tones!
Stoked for you to give them a try! I’ve been using Avondale like it’s no one’s business.
@@EricFloberg awesome man! Thank you! I absolutely love the colors you rock in your videos so I’m gonna try it out myself 👀

We shot Log and Raw
Eric please do an example in S-log3 🙏🏼
Check out Gamut’s S-Log3 BaseLUT and then you can a nearly identical look with 606 on top of that! 🤙🏼
Does the resaturation lut apply for the 2021 version of adobe premiere?

enjoyed the video! That resaturate lut sounds like exactly what I need. for some reason the link doesn't work.
@ericflorg: The Re-Saturate LUT from Adobe with your link is not available anymore. I can't seem to find it.

Hey Eric, would you recommend to immediately use the Luts before color correcting?
instantly liked after that intro haha
Are these luts compatible with Sony cameras?
Great video!!

Thanks, Andrei! I never look at scopes. Always just by look. I much prefer the Gamut Rec709. Calen has those dialed. The Canon ones are garbage 😬
@@EricFloberg yeah, I picked them up and tested them out already. They’re great! Quite the difference from canon’s. 🤦🏽♂️ thanks man!
Awesome work! I saw under the cameras it only listed Blackmagic pocket. Will these work nicely on the BM Ursa as well?

The link for the " Re-Saturate LUT from Adobe " isn't working...
Love these man. What do you use for Rec 709?
Thank you! I used Gamut’s Rec709, the company that I partnered with to create 606 🤝
What font are you using?:)
Cant wait to try these out! Why do you choose the gamut rec 709 vs the free canon rec 709?
Stoked for you to try them! Canon’s free one is very not good haha
@@EricFloberg Lol perfect i just got the gamut one
what's the text he use ???
Thanks Eric. How do you shoot Clog2 on the R5?
My pleasure! You can only get Log2 out of the 8K RAW on the R5
This is exciting! Btw, what font do you use in your videos?
😊🤝 Regards
Hi Eric, I just purchased your luts.
I use davinci resolve.
Do I just shoot raw on my c200 and then change the log to clog-2 in davinci?
C-LOG3 also supported? 😇
Yup! They have a C-Log3 Rec709 on the site as well!! :)
Do you shoot on CLOG 2 or CLOG 3 when you're filming A Roll on the R5 these days?
Clog3 on the R5, because the RAW is just way too massive.
@@EricFloberg Awesome! Thanks for the reply. Just bought your LUTS and excited to try them out!
Hello!
Can I use these Luts also with BRAW footage on DaVinci? :)
Yup! As long as you have the correct Rec709 for your BRAW 🤝
@@EricFloberg which would be which one? Sorry I am bit new to colograding 🙈
Hi Eric! Do you have any recommendations for affordable mics to use for RUclips?
I do! Honestly love this little voice recorder. You can clip it to a t-shirt or just hold it in your hand: geni.us/clipmic2
@@EricFloberg Thank youu
I've been editing video for years and didn't know where to put LUTs so that I didn't need to open them from a folder every time
Glad I could help 😊
Get it!!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS

Oh lord they are good. Wowser! #addtocart
Are you from Chicago based on those luts😂
lol yes
IT'S FINE. I'M FINE. 😵💫
