That happened to me a lot then I became one of them, it's also sad because I left my ps3 friends then I can't even go see them any more because I lost my rockstar account and ps3 account (forgot the passwords and email addresses) (is there anyway for me to find out the email address since I use to be logged on to it on the ps3)

At least opressor mk1 missiles weren’t as accurate as deluxo, ruiner, viggilante and required research unlock and skill. When deluxo released it could 1v5 oppressors
The game gets boring eventually because the shooting of NPCs is always the same, and player battles suffer because of modders, griefers, homing missiles, and spawn killing. You can buy a zillion cars, but you can only drive one at a time anyway, and the garage will fill up with never used vehicles.

Man, time goes by so fast. I still remember clear as day logging in GTA Online and seeing the 3 year anniversary event thing popping up everytime I logged in during that week. Feels like it was 2 years ago or something. This game is going to be a decade old in an year.
I remember when online first released and I was playing with all my friends and we were so excited to figure out how to do a heist. We robbed gas stations and did Simeon missions for days trying to get a worthless apartment that did nothing. Part of me cherishes the memories, part of me feels like it was a large waste of my life.

In 2014, I made my GTA online character. I’ve used the same account with the same character ever year since. The very first thing I did with my character was drive my duke o death to the top of mount chilliad to meet all my buddies. 6 months ago, I was driving that same duke o death up to mount chilliad and literally just parked. All those memories came back to me. The only thing missing, was all those buddies I met up with on that mountain 9 years ago. They all stopped playing at some point. They just grew up and moved on. I was the only one left still playing. It was almost like a movie bc the sun was setting. I decided it was my time to move on as well. I pressed on the gas a little and stepped out of the car. It tumbled down the hill until I couldn’t see it anymore. I then jumped off the cliff and skydived. While my character was in the air, I said my goodbye. Turned off the game, and deleted my account for good. It was emotional because of the amount of time I spent on that game. But, with time, everything has to come to an end.

Ive told this story many times, here to tell it again I was the friend who went offline for, as of now, 5 years. I played the 360 up until 2018, when I went into a party with my friend group, and my mic didnt work. Grabbed a different mic, still didnt work. Changed controller, still didnt work. I even switch consoles and it didnt work. It was one of the saddest days, i started playing the One and a couple years later one of my old friends invited me to a party. The friend group broke apart shortly after my departure. Just wish I could go back and play GTA Online with them again
2013-2016 gta was the best. Playing rooftop rumble all night and being able to buy the bugatti the next morning was amazing. Grinding paid off back then

Then they added in micro transactions and made it pay to win. After they had the highest ever pre release sales for a game it feels like the whole industry changed to follow suit and ride the cash cow. I haven't seen a game in about the last five years that honestly made me excited to even want to pick up a copy. Despite the industry just feeling greedy and somewhat stale being one thing, then there's personal issues like just kinda growing out of gaming altogether as well. Idk if it's burn out or if my chronic depression or life in general is playong a role, but I've had like no interest in gaming for the last four years. Maybe played a total of 25 hours in those four years compared to thousands and thousands the decade prior. It's kinda sad, all those years of fun those consoles brought me only for me to abandon them and let em die on a desk untouched and unloved for years.

I remember the good times back on the PS3. There was barely any fighting. That was the last time I was on , in a normal “friendly” server. I did my final Pacific Standard Heist with some people I became friends with. We finished and ironically, it was also “New Years”. I picked up some people in my “Gunned(?) insurgent” and the rest of the server followed suit. We all went down to the Venice Pier and celebrated the New Year. We played for an hour, which was my last normal “GTA” where I actually had fun in a public lobby. I didn’t know it was it back then. I wish I did. If I knew where GTA was going I would’ve stayed longer. Now most, if not most, the friends I made over the years in this game during that time, don’t play anymore mostly because of what it has descended into. I was one of the people that said I would be back the next day. I never did. The only thing I would come back for was to transfer to PC then to console which didn’t even matter anyways, since none of the stuff I collected over the years transferred over from either one. And now, since the PS3 GTA5 online was also shut down, everything that happened; everything that me and my friends collected- Everything is just a memory now. Im starting to forget those years. I don’t want to.

Ahhh 2013 was the most fun experience I ever had. I’ll never forget the mechanic driving your car near you, armor truck, random create with beer caps, robbing the stores to get fast cash, and rooftop rumble was top tier mission to grind money.
Remember, friends come and go and we go through phases in life. Cherish the moments you had rather than sour them. You might grow apart but maybe in the future you can catch up. That or sometimes it's necessary for both of you to grow. :)

Got the game in 2014 for the PS3, made friends, enemies and went the path of the tryhard. I still am an active player to this day on PC, despite it's flaws. I've done everything in the game 10x over, i've reached 100 million legit, back on the xbox one in 2017 with some friends, grinding heists and selling crates. I have everything i could ever want out of this game, yet i choose to play it. The way this game brought happiness to me as a kid will never leave my memories. I was 11 when i touched gta online for the first time. I am now 21, have a job and am working towards several goals. Playing the game brings me back, and i wish i was still a kid to enjoy those moments. To those who have read this far and are below the age of 18: Enjoy your childhood/teenage years while they last!

I used too play with so many people hours on gta 5 I still play rank 305 thats what six years of playing with friends got me so many memories dying of laughing because my friends were tossing each other out of a boat during the night series of funding set up doing the heists over and over too get money doing Parkours can't give up that time I go back and do it all again was so a try hard tbh now I play I get killed I don't go looking for trouble in lobbys I just remember wow I am so different now just chill got two charcters tho other rank 115 I play solo now because I don't mind being alone anymore I like it anyways more fr but still had my moments everyone does

When I first got Xbox live when I was 12 years old 12 years ago the first day I met a guy playing the original red dead redemption online. I spawned in blackwater killed everyone and met a guy hiding out in tall trees and we played video games for 12 years straight since then but one day my Xbox broke and it's just so much money and so much time that I didn't buy another. I cancelled my phone bill because they're charging me so much and so I wrote his phone number down on a paper and I'm hoping one day when I get a new number it works.
It is impossible to use civilian planes in GTA anymore, because there is always the guy who with an oppressor kills you over and over again.

The Deluxo represents the end of classic GTAO, it's the last time an "overpowered" vehicle had an achilles heel, which was that it is slow. After that, the Oppressor MKII ended all fun that could've been had.
2013 is the best year, there was no special operation in Ukraine then, everything was not modern and pleasant, I will never forget this wonderful year.....

I remember the good times back on the PS3. There was barely any fighting. That was the last time I was on , in a normal “friendly” server. I did my final Pacific Standard Heist with some people I became friends with. We finished and ironically, it was also “New Years”. I picked up some people in my “Gunned(?) insurgent” and the rest of the server followed suit. We all went down to the Venice Pier and celebrated the New Year. We played for an hour, which was my last normal “GTA” where I actually had fun in a public lobby. I didn’t know it was it back then. I wish I did. If I knew where GTA was going I would’ve stayed longer. Now most, if not most, the friends I made over the years in this game during that time, don’t play anymore mostly because of what it has descended into. I was one of the people that said I would be back the next day. I never did. The only thing I would come back for was to transfer to PC then to console which didn’t even matter anyways, since none of the stuff I collected over the years transferred over from either one. And now, since the PS3 GTA5 online was also shut down, everything that happened; everything that me and my friends collected- Everything is just a memory now. Im starting to forget those years. I don’t want to.

Ahhh 2013 was the most fun experience I ever had. I’ll never forget the mechanic driving your car near you, armor truck, random create with beer caps, robbing the stores to get fast cash, and rooftop rumble was top tier mission to grind money.
That fact the you got more than 2 feet not in passive mode and didn’t die tells me your missing some things in this
i haven't even used passive mode in gta online since i started. why would you need it? lol
Remember, friends come and go and we go through phases in life. Cherish the moments you had rather than sour them. You might grow apart but maybe in the future you can catch up. That or sometimes it's necessary for both of you to grow. :)

Got the game in 2014 for the PS3, made friends, enemies and went the path of the tryhard.
I still am an active player to this day on PC, despite it's flaws. I've done everything in the game 10x over, i've reached 100 million legit, back on the xbox one in 2017 with some friends, grinding heists and selling crates.
I have everything i could ever want out of this game, yet i choose to play it.
The way this game brought happiness to me as a kid will never leave my memories. I was 11 when i touched gta online for the first time. I am now 21, have a job and am working towards several goals.
Playing the game brings me back, and i wish i was still a kid to enjoy those moments.
To those who have read this far and are below the age of 18: Enjoy your childhood/teenage years while they last!

Such a sad but true realization… starting playing when it was released and played for many years. Now I hop on and off randomly. Just not the same anymore. Not as many people on, hard for beginner players. Plus it’s becoming outdated. Hope they release a new title soon and bring the community back together!
