I was once upside down and on fire! Couldn't get the harness unbuckled! A track crewman reached in and got it undone. That was the most scared I ever got in a race car. Neather I or the crewman got burned. Someone was watching over us!
When I worked in the crew for a owner driver, We had a thing we like to call nut & bolt the car . Before every race you would grab a handful of wrenches and go over the entire car. You would be surprised how many were loose.
Thursday night was nuts and bolts night , started at the front bumper and went to the rear bumper tightening every bolt and nut .. it works , you'd be surprised how many were loose ..
Dave 100% the reason I can’t actually watch them much because having been in racing my entire life there maintenance program (or lack there of )literally makes my head hurt
@@jimb_28 yep we’ve always done the same thing and when time allows two of us do it just incase the other missed something Don’t cost a dime nut and bolt the car but cost alot of money when something comes loose and that’s without figuring in the lost points
I am going to say this first off glad no one was hurt and hopefully not a lot of damage. I watch you guys and your Daddy's channel, every video. I really loved watching Joseph and his dad going at it in hot laps, you couldn't wipe the smile off my face. With that being said, its troubles me that you guys never mention him and he seemed as if he was on cloud 9 getting to race with Joseph, that's all he talked about. I love all the content for sure and love all you guys and the effort and heart you put into every video, I just miss the big family fun times that don't happen much anymore because of schedules but even when it does, its not mentioned. Again, I love all you guys and pray for your continued success, but Joseph and his Dad racing, was the highlight of that night, for sure and I know I am not the only one.
I know it’s expensive to travel with a series but the perks you gain while on the road generally work out , it’s a chance you take the same as most have done and many still do , I feel like Joseph with his talent and his great attitude along with his brothers and Jesse and their positive attitudes could pick up sponsors easily , but you have to go and show your willing to sacrifice in order to land those major sponsors . I enjoy watching the man race and I think he can be a contender for the rookie of the year honors , with that notoriety comes sponsors .
@@petecastle5762 yeah true. If they went to the Lucas oil races that they could afford to go to then they might pick up some sponsors to run a full season.
In the Air Force when we used AN type fittings we drilled .020" holes in the B nut and safety wired them after we set the torque. Don't know if that's legal in your race world though. Congrats on your new baby Joseph. This is really a cool channel. All of you are awesome and it's fun watching what goes on day to day to get the car on the track.
The baby is beautiful! Looked like she was handling it well. Y'all have a target on your backs, with all the DQ's. Joseph was definitely putting on a show coming to the front. Just glad everyone is ok. Get em next time. HTF💪🤙
Oh man,it was about to get real interesting!! I think we all know how that was gonna turn out, great job keepin the fenders on her coming to the front, outstanding! He is a great shoe!
Parker pumper will stop the glasses from fogging, works great in hot weather, plum it to the top of your helmet. Baby Andy is a Beauty!!! Happy Mothets day to all Mos out there!
And that is why us dirt racers MUST bolt and nut check every thing every race. Thank God no one was hurt! We run our regulator back side of fuel log with support bracket. Stops the bouncing and vibration.
Very thankful Joseph is okay! 😅 Happy Mother’s Day, Kayla and Shadow! 💖 In the aviation maintenance field, we use a product called ‘Torque Seal’ for witness lines. It is available in very bright colors. Good luck moving forward HTF!!! 👍🏼😁 (If you want to try Torque Seal, but have trouble finding it, feel free to give me a shout).
Its tough seeing you guys getting called out so often, especially for things y'all had no idea about or wasn't intentional, but glad to see y'all just roll with the punches and keep hunting the front
Daddy and Mama and Andi perfect picture except it wasn't in Victory Lane🏁🏆🏁 So sorry for the freak fire but overjoyed that you ALL are safe. May GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS EACH OF YOU NOW AND ALWAYS 🙏 And thank you for taking us fans along every step of the way 🤗❤️🙏

Glad everyone is okay. Good to see Mom and Baby are doing great! That motor is going to be nasty on the inside with that guy spraying the breather that long with the extinguisher. But it can be replaced. I know you guys wont be out of it too long. Bet you check those lines more often though. And maybe could build a little bracket off of one of the intake bolts to support the regulator
For glasses fogging, try this stuff called “Worley’s Wonder”. It’s actually a jewelry polish but we use it on our safety glasses at work and it makes a huge difference keeping fog to a minimum.
I’ve found that torque stripe has become a lifesaver for sure! That, and if you have the ability, use some safety wire on critical parts. Tough break guys, but I know you’ll be back and stronger than ever
Love dirt track racing and HTF channel and all their videos, but seeing Joseph and Kayla with their newborn and their awesome little family trumps all that by a long shot.
We always make a bracket on our Regulator. A buddy of mine had the same exact problem a few years back, But his burned his car up REALLY BAD, So glad it didn’t get any worse than that for you guys. Can’t win them all, and I guess it’s better to happen then, than to happen while fighting for a win in a Big Show... Good Run Fellas! 👍
Before the fire when you were showing the rest view I thought I seen sparks then... Motocross accessories have an anti-fog spray for their goggles. I don't see why it wouldn't work with glasses
you can buy cleaner for glasses that has something in it to keep them from fogging up. So glad Joseph wasn't burnt or hurt. The car can be replaced or fixed. God Bless everyone at HTF!
Welcome back Joseph, one helluva return ! Now you boys go study that rule book REAL hard and let's see if we have to go beat em draggin a couple of cinder blocks behind us LOL.
Y'all gotta nut n bolt before the car leaves the shop whether ur running local or a big race..... Just saying not dogging ya. that was a heck of an exit JJ
If they haven’t learnt by now what needs done they’re never gonna learn At this point it’s not if there laziness when it comes to rules or maintenance is gonna bite them it’s when it’s gonna bite them
Hot damn! I’ll say this, Joseph’s time ditching that wheel and throwing them harnesses off was as quick as his run through the pack! Glad everybody is ok, and congrats to the new parents!
What a shame! The car and driver were working GREAT on that track!! Sometimes if it weren't for bad luck, you'd have none at all. You will bounce back! Love the channel!
Mount regulators to the roll cage front engine loop (pipe), then run a hose to the fuel log. Takes the weight off the fuel log and the hoses absorb the vibration.
Dude, you HAD THEM COVERED. Just a little hiccup took that one away. Glad your ok. The car needs a little love and it will be back as fast as ever. But next time you smoke the field, don't take it to such extreme. LOL.
Glad Joseph is okay and if it wasn't for bad luck there wouldn't be any luck when in doubt check it out thoroughly is always better to check and double check good job Joseph could never tell it's been a while since you last raced. Stay safe and God bless.
I landscape and they have a no fog spray that comes out in foam form and let it set until dry seems work on even the cheapest pairs of sunglasses and reading glasses. Never had it on anything else
I never had any issues racing with glasses, just kept good air flow through the helmet. One trick we used to use back in my karting days when we raced in the cold or the rain was to tape a nut under the helmet visor so it got better air flow and not fog up. Racing in Canada it would be close to freezing at the end of the racing season, lol. The windshield on my mini stock would be fogged up pulling on the track however once we got driving it would clear up, lol. I imagine it would be similar with your helmet on the dirt.
Sorry about the fire, you were looking good but that beautiful little girl is still looking better. Welcome to the racing family Andie. Congratulations Joseph and Kayla
A forced air setup helps when we have visors fogging up. Helps if it'ss some where it can get a little heat we usually went under the deck behind the seat
Main thing is Joseph's all right by far the fastest car there !!! Congratulations on the cutie little baby he's a cutie, when I raced I wear glasses all my life I use Rain-X anti-fog. Even on my inside shield
I struggled with glasses racing go karts as a teen and on through modifieds and sprint cars. I had a pair of granny glasses made and they were ok until it got cold. Contacts worked for pavement races. In the end I had the lasix surgery and that eliminated all the problems. Now I have had cataract surgery and see really good. If you go the lasix route research doctors and find one that has at least 10,000 surgeries under their belt. There are plenty with that experience and more.

Speaking from someone who has been in a fire, keeping your cool while getting a 5 point harness off is the hardest thing ever.
I practice getting out of my car quickly.... never know when need to get out quick
You got that right, Jacob! And trying getting it off when you are on your side or upside down - not fun either.

Glad everyone is ok. As for the glasses, have had good results with either a 2oz vinegar in 1 quart water mix or wiping rain x on my lenses.
Wow glad everyone is ok!
My driver loves his fresh air for the helmet to help with the fogging issue. It was a blessing when we switched to running fresh air on the helmet.
try rain ex wipes or spray on the glasses to stop the fogging up. Worked for me when I raced.
I think there is like a rub or a thing you spray on your glasses that helps prevent fogging up
