Welllllll, maybe best WWII fighter! It's my favorite, but the Lockheed Constellation is hands down the most beautiful prop airplane ever created! IMHO and of many others. I love radial engined a/c.
@@infledermaus I agree with you Mr. Bat....the Connie is truly a most beautiful design...but a transport and airliner....when it comes to fighters...it's the jug !!!!!!!
Yep my dad used these in war. My dad was one of the first in the european theater. He was a very brave man. He crashed one twice. Once he hid in a haystack for 3 days. On the 4th day without water some came in a jeep he thought it was the other side. But he was dying so he put his hands behind his head. Walked towards it. Lucked out it was our side.
P47 has very elabrate turbo super charger. Some where 2800hp p47d 472mpr m made to kill me262 540mpr jet p47 n 2500 mile range 2000lb of bombs 440mpr they all had 8 50. Less 05% of missons shot down. Thats 1 lost every 200 missions. B17 over germany was 9 missions shot down
Pretty sure this is the P-47 that was partially restored in Tulsa,ok.in the early 80's by Ken Sternberg Aircraft ,it was wrecked in Barstow,Ca.by David Talichitt.(don't know if I spelled his name correctly..This aircraft was at Harvey Young Airport..Sternberg and David T.had a falling out and he had all his men come to Tulsa clear the place out of the P-47,P-38,acouple P-39s and Spitfires..And they stole all my tools at that, wasn't around at the time. The P-47,was almost finished with an overhauled engine and painted real zinc chromate green..I know this cause I worked for Sternberg for 2 years early in my aviation career and have plenty of pics of all these aircraft in various stages of restoration..I do believe Sternberg was a little shady with David Ts..money but pretty sure there both now in aviation heaven..Read a story about David passing a few years back. But Sternberg couldn't of lasted to much longer as he was the heaviest smoker I ever seen in my life,so much so that the windshield of his car on the inside was brown from him hacking up all the time. This P-47 was one of 6 I do beleive that where retrieved from Peru in the 70's..True absolute story..
Good God almighty, it's no wonder the Luftwaffe got the snot kicked out of it. It was like entering a hockey player in a figure skating contest, might as well just cut the Hanson Brothers lose on the Ice Capades, every time one of those figure skaters got slammed against the boards the body parts would just go flying, all that blood all over the ice, oh the humanity.
I can't believe that guy is standing on front of the plane & prop when he is reverving for full power. If that plane jumped off the one chalk. Obviously he has the brakes on too, but still he would be sliced cheese.....
It's actually an illusion caused by a short depth of field lense/aperture setting on cheap auto focus cameras and smartphones. He is actually standing left of the port wing tip and has a fire extinguisher at the ready. Standard procedure for all old warbirds, should there be an engine fire. The aircraft are way too valuable and rare.
In my humble opinion . The most BEAUTIFUL AIRPLANE EVER BUILT...In second place....the p 51..

It has a crude thuggish beauty that I love but the De Havilland Hornet takes first place for me for beauty
IMHO - The F4U-4, P-47, P-38L…then the P-51D..
A very nice aircraft, but the Corsair was the best looking aircraft and the sexiest" looking airplane.

Aluminum overcast and D-day stripes. The best camouflage.💪
Absolutely gorgeous!! The Jug is definitely one of my favorites!
Iconic colour scheme. What a monster. Great video.
It's a privilege to simply admire and love the 'JUG'.
I was there that day. Amazing museum. I just started volunteering there.
Love this airplane! I've actually worked on it, during my time as a museum volunteer. Great museum, highly recommended. Love the sound of round!
My favorite WWII fighter! Thank you for posting this! What a treat!
I love that most of the exhaust gases actually come out of the turbocharger at the rear.

She's stolen my heart as my a time favorite aircraft. Close second is the P-51, but something about the Jug P-47 just does it for me
All engine! Magnificent!
Big Bad Beautiful Jug !
My grandmother made flaps and ailerons for Republic. She likely made these, if they are original.
Fantastic airplane. Thanks for sharing.
Fred is looking down right now thanks for this video
I just saw this same plane fly over fort Carson 20 minutes ago!!
I go to Reading PA every year for the ww2 show and would love to see a P47 there.
One bad ass fighter a flying tank.
oh hellyeah! I feel entitled to one....lol Salute to the brave warriors who flew these.

Love your analogy.
Lets go! A new video!
Great video - but you DESPERATELY need a wind baffle on your mic... 😱
It's always my go to...the 47
Is very beautiful
Great video buddy 👍
I like the checker nose.
Me too.

I think that’s the markings of 84 Squadron that was based at Duxford not far from where I live.
Can't hear anything over the loud whining of something in the background.
That’s called an APU
Yeah it's called kids😅
The greatest fighter-bomber ever built,my favorite airplane!!!
Da' Beast awakens!!!
A MASSIVE MAULER !
I'm surprised the brakes held it still!
sounds like cool!!!!!!!!!
cool upload 😎 👌 thumb up
Wow that low pass at the end was so cool! What's better. A P-51 or P-47?😎🤙🔥

Cool plane and hi colo
does running the engine on the ground cause overheating? just wondering.
Am I the only one that thinks being that close up looks terrifying, one mistake and the guy is mince meat
If there's one airplane I would love to fly if I could. It would be the P-47.
a beautiful nightmare!
Wind noise, par Exsalonce!
An awesome airplane!
Lousy camera work.
Hand built in Evansville Indiana 2:57
Nice video but the audio is as you've heard, terrible..
That's a BITCHIN' Jug!!!!!
