Genius. Legend. I welled up in Nashville 2 weeks ago at the CG after party after a brief chat and some photos.. Thank you for everything, Steve. May The Lord continue to bless you
I love this video. I met Steve Taylor once backstage at the Dove Awards probably 15-years ago (he was managing/producing Six Pence None The Richer at the time), and to my surprise, he's extremely quiet, humble, and almost shy, basically the exact opposite of his stage persona.
I met Steve many years ago. What a great guy. Writes with some of the most pop/rock sensibility of anyone. New album has been a long time coming, but I'm sure well worth the wait. Thanks in advance for more great music, Steve!
well dang..... with a Kickstarter Video like this.... and his talent starting from over 20 years ago.... no wonder he raised more than 3x asked..... (Sounds like a tour will be coming too) This is the first day I've heard of him.... and it sounds like a good day.
Very funny! Just what I would expect from Steve! Still listening to an old cassette tape of his that doesn't work so great anymore! Can't wait for his new stuff.
Chances are very few of you know who Steve Taylor is. He's sort of the gadfly of evangelical music -- my first exposure to him was when he released "I Predict 1990," when he was being boycotted by churches because one of the songs criticized and mocked people who blow up abortion clinics ("I Blew Up the Clinic Real Good"). I consider him something of a genius, but probably a niche genius. This video he made for a recent kickstarter is pretty universally brilliant though.
Oh man, watching this makes me wish I could've gotten on at the ground floor. No, not the one before I developed language capability in 1982… THIS one in 2013. As a bass-playing christian comedian, I feel like I would have personally written the check for the last song on this amazing record. From one Kickstarter success to another, welcome back Steve! #onthefritz
Awesome !! Very Funny.... Rolling up to get your "Rock Licenses" in a Honda Accord. and to top it off. Indie-Rock --- You don't have to be able to sing or play then..
This is hilarious ....if you used to listen to his music in the eighties you can totally appreciate it.....I think of him as a Christian artist David Byrne...who may also be a Christian
2023 checking in. I need me more Steve Tayor music. His stuff aged soooooooo well.
"Ohhhhh, yeah. Um, you don't have to know how to play or sing...."
Bwahahahahahah. Classic Steve Taylor! Welcome back brother!
In case you missed it. The guy sitting next to Steve in the DMV at 1:18 is wearing the same suit Steve wears in his "I want to be a Clone" video.
Um, "On The Fritz" album cover/concerts
"I need 80% more swagger and twice as much indifference" -- simply brilliant!
I never had the privilege of seeing Steve in concert back in the day, but loved the music. You go!
Two years later I came back to watch this. Still hilarious.
It's 2017. Why am I just now seeing this? WOW this was funny and great.

He was so clever!!
My first experience was in the early 80’s when “Meltdown” came out! Always thought he was amazing!

Unappreciated genius. Steve, Thank you!!! You are the best.
How have I not been subscribed? I have been a Steve Taylor Fan since... Meltdown... so a few years...

Many don't know that Steve wrote a lot of the Newsboys best songs. I can totally hear his style in their songs.

Where is The Ford, Steve? And the bumper sticker?
I met him at Calvary Chapel in Capo Beach in the 80s! Nice guy!

You need to get Cortana. ;)
this is hilarious
Is that Aubrey Plaza interviewing you?
Such a great commercial. The Republican party to hire him to actual do commercial someone want to watch.
Dead channel ?
Jesus, it's painful watching fundies attempt "comedy"
