    Know your own game, if you have a repeatable action and dont mess with it on the course you will reach your maximum potential with what you have. My 14 year old hits it's miles but gets killed every weekend by seniors who are 60 yards behind him, they strive to get the best out of what they have, he strives to get the best out of what he is not yet capable off.

    I play with people who do this. They embrace their fade / slice and it repeats and is reliable. In fast, summer conditions a fade will settle much more quickly than a draw too. On a good ball-striking round they can go low.

    I'm sitting at about 15.5, so know bad shots are part of my game for now. A few things really challenge my attitude on the golf course... slow play, losing a ball in the fairway after a well-struck tee shot, three-putts , and having to chip twice to get on a green. The first two can't be helped so I try to shake it off, but the second pair are unforced errors that just highlight the need for more practice; short game is key. Where in teh US can I get some of those Wadda Playa drugs you mentioned? LOL

    A controlled fade is more precise than a controlled draw over many repetitive shots. However, a controlled draw is also a great way to play a golf course. Controlled trajectory is the key.

    • @ralfschmitt2341
      @ralfschmitt2341 11 месяцев назад

      The key to success is to control your shots. Does not matter if draw or fade, as long as you can control where your ball will end up. Thats the hard part 😁

    Looks like he’s driving 260-270 effortlessly - that’ll get it done! My not so power fader is more like 220 - so I really fight to straighten that bad boy out. When NOT to embrace the fade.

    • @duffer0309

      Play your fade and play the tees that work for 220 yards off the tee

  • @edge21str
    @edge21str 11 месяцев назад

    A consistent shot is the most important thing. If that is a low spin draw, a high spin fade or a straight shot right really doesn't matter that much. As long as you know where it goes and you can drive it over like 220 yards, you can get a pretty damn low handicap.

    I have a fade because i swing over the top but have somehow gained enough clubface control to reduce my slice.
    Should i keep trying to eliminate my over the top move in my downswing, which I've always seen as a flaw, or just accept thats what i do?

    • @thehairygolfer
      @thehairygolfer 11 месяцев назад +2

      My back wont work. My neck wont work. My turn is pure shite. I've hit that same shot since 1995. Tee up on the right, aim down the left and hit a little block cut into the fairway. The only thing I changed was learning how to hit a draw with my mid irons to a left flag I fancied. Keep fading Bro, perfect that with the driver and 3 wood and you are money!

  • @somerandomguy706
    @somerandomguy706 11 месяцев назад +1

    I will say, I think choking down a little less would get the club path a little more around and straighten the ball flight out. It's consistent, though, so probably right that it's not worth the bother.

    In my mind there's 2 tiers - mistake avoidance and shot making. Can ezpz break 80 with just the mistake avoidance mentality... Keep balls in play, 2nd shots need to be near the green and you need a reliable short game. Tier 2 is same as tier 1 but hit the ball a bit further and hit more greens, ideally more than 11... Par & better becomes a reality. whaddaplaya

    I've noticed that neither of you make what most would regard as a "full" backswing. There's no "club pointing at the target" at the top of the backswing.
    I guess less distance on the way down, less can go wrong. Commit fully to the downswing. Accept the distance that that generates.
    Don't try and hit your 7 iron further. Use a 6 iron.

    • @GolfSidekick
      @GolfSidekick  11 месяцев назад +2

      Playa you got it right.
      When i was a kid, there was always nonsense in Golf Digest (evil) about at the top of the swing the club should be parallel and point at target or whatever they were saying, so I realy tried to model that.
      But working with a coach, I understood, as soon as I go too long, then I either overextend my upper body and collapse into the left leg OR I hinge my wrist just a little bit. The over extension and hinge come at the same time to me, as it feels like I'm getting more out of my swing, more distance....
      But if I stop my swing short, i stop the over extension at the top and by default, if I stop short, I can't hinge that wrist to get parallel or below.
      And as you say, less can go wrong. It is MUCH easier for me to sync up the rest of my body instead of lagging so far behind with my body. When I go too far, hinge the wrist, then syncing back up and having a square face is impossible. I don't know how I played golf like that for so long...just have good hand eye co ordination. By stopping short, I have brought my bad days down to mediocre days.
      Now I don't fear those days where you think you can't swing a club anymore - I just feel like I'm hitting half swings and I can't screw it up.

    playing to a fade is one thing...what I am seeing here is playing to a slice.....fades don't move 40 yards to the right....change that to an actual fade and he would drop below 80 easily.

      @scottwilson4492 11 месяцев назад +2

      Most drives were fades That started in the left rough and found the left side or center of the fairway . His irons had even less fade . Of course a few went right rough but he never lost one ball. Watch the video again since he clearly broke 80
