Already Episode 5!! and you are still here!!!
In this Episode I will open the tank and discover a bad surprise, the tank is in a very bad shape. Also the fuel pump and the fuel gauge having defects, time to replace them. Luckily the BMW K100 & K75 has an aluminium tank that means a lot of handwork but you will be surprised how the tank will look inside after this episode. Afterwards I modify the tank outside to get the minimalistic look of a cafe racer.
However we don´t stop there, we continue where we left of in Episode 4: The frame rear end. I buy long metal pipes in different sizes and shape/bend the pipes into the for me perfect proportions and design. I will show the angles I determined to fit best and we go right into welding it all together. The beautiful art of welding will be highlighted with classical music.
The amazing resources that mother nature provided us with and the decade long engineering to create metal, a welding machine, cameras and the clothes I am wearing come all together to form this Episode 5 in the year 2022.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am a big K100 and cafe racer fan. I always dreamed of owning a motorbike one day, however as a medical student I had not the time nor the savings to buy a bike. After I finished university I just couldn´t wait any longer so I took it into my own hands. I bought an old BMW K100rs from 1983. The overall condition was good, however it didn´t pass the main inspection (TÜV). I wanted to take the bike for some rides before I start the transformation, so I immediately begun to restore and upgrade the bike according my desires. The problem was that I really had not experience in bikes, only some Mofa and scooter tuning experiences. The next problem was I didn´t even had a workshop. So what I did is I built a workshop and then the bike.
This BMW K100 cafe racer series is about the journey through all this. I hope you like this series. I would really love to get a feedback if you liked it, feel free to share it.
I hope you stick around the entire series, very exciting parts coming!
My mission is to build the greatest BMW K100 cafe racer out there and there was no other option left for me than building an entire workshop just for this project. In Episode 2 I will take you through the entire building process of my K100-workshop. I truly love details and good quality work and hopefully some of the details shown in my videos could be helpful to you, whether if it is about the BMW K100 (engine works, frame modifications, hand-shaping a carbon seat, wiring the Motogadget M-unit blue, Tank modifications, rebuilding a throttle body, restoring the forks, etc.) or about the workshop (how to build a bench, how to build tool walls, how to build a cafe racer garage, how to cement, etc.). In Episode 3 we will really go hard on the bike and disassembly starts. Episode 4 & 5 will be all about how to modify and old 1983 BMW motorbike into a modern cafe racer. Episode 6/7/8 are currently in editing.
I wish you all the best and thank you for watching I truly appreciate it! You could really help me in leaving a subscription/like or a comment. Any interaction with you inspires me to do better. And who knows where this journey could bring both of us. Sometimes it is only a little spark or an idea that changes one life´s destiny as a whole.
    Best regards
    Luk

Hello from the USA! Great build and super awesome to see you taking so much time taking care of your K100. Currently building out my 87 K75, nowhere near to this extent of care. Super inspirational!

      Hey Sheehuavah Moua 🤝,
Oh thats so cool that my video reached all the way to the USA 🇺🇸 and how cool that you are converting a german bike over there. I tell you, this bike is so easy to maintain. The engine is wonderful and long lasting. And the café racer version of this bike is spectacular 🙌.
Thanks for the comment Sheehuavah 🙏🙏 very very appreciated.
Best regards and I wish you a great builder experience

      Hey Marcos Cerberus 🙋‍♂️,
Thanks a lot for commenting on the cafe racer series 🙏🙏. It was unbelievably much effort I invested into this BMW K100 conversion, but if one wants a good result one needs to invest her/his whole heart and that is what I try to show on my channel that we all can do more than we believe we can if we truly commit. Often we hand things over too rapidly before really engaging in it with trying to solve it with what we have. I would not so much say talented but rather disciplined and consistent:
-->"Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.
I hope to see you in the upcoming episodes Marcos Cerberus 🙏🙏 and if you are building your own BMW K100 cafe racer at the moment I hope this series is helpful to your build.
      Best wishes from Sweden

      Hey Göran 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️🙏,
Great to hear from you, it's always a pleasure!!
I'm editing part 6 while writing you back. I hope you will also find episode 6 entertaining. In episode 6 I will reveal the floating frame (has never been done before on any K100 conversion, so I'm really stoked in showing something really new 😊).
And you are right, much love went into this rear end 😁.
It would be great seeing you again Göran 🙋‍♂️.
Best wishes and regards from here
