Apparently the 2A isn't clear enough. I think they could have went further to say "all possession based weapon laws are unconstitutional and invalid"
That would eliminate all permits, weapon bans, and everything in between. Which the original wording is meant to be but apparently people don't understand it. The only valid weapon laws are related to the use of said weapon. Guns, blades, clubs, and all between. Cannons, grenades, machine guns, tanks, fighter jets, whatever you can afford. If you can afford it, just don't use it for crime and "we good".

I would argue that the key difference with the American Revolution was that it wasn't a revolution at all but rather a separatist movement. It spawned our constitutional republic in its aftermath but the objective wasn't to replace the system (elected state assemblies etc) but to separate them intact from British control. It worked precisely because it wasn't trying to radically alter social structures, just loosen them up a bit.

Yes, we must avoid civil conflict but that means we all have to make our voices heard.
We likely all know friends, family, etc. who fear to speak up or we fear to speak to. Only way, I see, we avoid a path of destruction is to make conversation happen locally/nationally. When words stop flying, it's only a matter of time until bullets start flying.

  • @brianedminster7556
    @brianedminster7556 2 года назад +45

We are indeed at an uncomfortable place in our nation's history. Those not wanting violence believe we need to 'vote our way out of this', while it (unfortunately) is not entirely outlandish to believe that in the key elections - voting may not 'work' anymore (it's all about how the votes are 'produced/counted') - and means to challenge/fix this take either too long, or are broken as well.
I sincerely pray that cooler heads prevail, but unless we can get this all to stop by just refusing to comply - I fear it'll eventually come down to violence, and that means some of us will die at the hands of tyrants, regardless of the greater outcome.
I will grant that a well placed bullet can 'change history', but really - only in the way that a skilled surgeon can remove a tumor, and still not cure the greater cancer.
We need to 'fix' the cancers (and yes - I use the plural because there is no one thing that has brought us to this point). The destruction of our Republic has been underway for a LONG time, more than decades - and in earnest for over a hundred years. It's just been picking up steam in the last few decades, and some of the passengers are just now realizing that we're on a run-away train, that the track ahead will not support the speeds we're attaining, and it appears that the bridge is out.... We might not have enough track left to stop - even if we slam on the brakes now.
So what to do then? Is a Convention of States the answer? If so - what changes need to be made, and that can be agreed upon by sufficient number of states? And worse yet, who's to say that our Congress will abide by these changes (whatever they may be), given that the original document is only adhered to when convenient, or the meaning is twisted to serve their purposes.
Gentleman, we are living in the times that try men's souls. Know what you believe in and why, as well as what ideas and ideals you are willing to fight and die for. Not to rag on your organization's name, Mr. Lovell - but we need an army of Warrior Philosophers too. I pray that enough of use are both Poets and Philosophers that we can preserve the Republic we started with, and that have the wisdom and fortitude to excise the cancers that afflict it. Stopping this run-away train is only half the battle. We need to fix the tracks that carry it safely as well.
Buckle up - I fear we're in for a rough ride, no matter how things go.

Limit the power of the federal government. The biggest is to end the corruption in this cronies capitalism. Un elected corporations should not have more power over our lives than elected officials. End the Era of militarization of our police forces. The list goes on and on. Actually much longer than those listed in the Declaration of Independence. We have squandered what we were given. Voting still works. You have fallen for a massive demoralization psyop. They want to decrease the number of right wing voters by convincing them that the elections are rigged. I voted for Trump twice but I haven't seen any convincing evidence of actual, provable fraud. He didn't even win one single case in court and frankly that speaks volumes unless your world view is entirely colored by conspiracy theories that EVERYONE is somehow involved. I'm of the opinion now that Trump is a narcissist who only cares about himself, about his wealth and about his power and fame. He has very few actual principles and achieved very little as a result despite having a rock solid base. He even violated the Constitution with his bump stock ban which set the precedent for the ATF/Biden to ban firearm attachments via executive order or a change in regulatory language. He also openly supported red flag laws and said that in red flag cases the government should take a persons guns BEFORE there is any due process. His 2016 campaign relied heavily on the revelations brought by Wikileaks...yet his regime got Julian Assange arrested in the Uk and started the process to get him extradited to the United States. Julian Assange has committed no crimes other than actual journalism that was entirely within the public interest. Trump said over and over he was going to drain the swamp but instead he hired and promoted as many swamp creatures as he could including John Bolton, Mike Pompeo, Alex Acosta, etc. He never fired Fauci despite overwhelming cries from his supporters to do so.
The fact is there were A LOT of people who fell for the Corporate Press 4 year long campaign against Trump. At the same time there were a lot of conservatives(such as myself) who have serious problems with him. If you think Trump is the best we can do you're fucking crazy. They didn't need to rig actual votes. All they had to do to get rid of him was have the COVID19 death toll on screen of every channel every hour of every day, hide the Hunter Biden story(which is true btw), and promote every gaffe he made. Trump spent way too much time on Twitter.
And yes, I know you didn't mention the 2020 Election/Trump specifically but you and I both know that's what you're referring to. Republicans have been gaining ground in nearly every state and control a majority of state legislatures. Heck, look what just happened in Virginia and New Jersey! A Truck driver beat the New Jersey Senate president! He didn't even have a website!
Your vote matters. Every vote matters. If you don't vote, you deserve the perils of history that will come your way as a result.

I would say that in this country you have people who do not hate the trappings of what America is, but instead want to control those trappings to empower themselves and punish those they feel never should have had those things in the first place. And when you have politicians openly supporting groups that have committed crimes from robbery, assault, arson and murder by raising money for bail and the law looking the other way, how can you say we aren't there yet? What is the metric by which you measure something like this? Either way, I am grateful someone has an optimistic view of things because I don't see it getting any better anytime soon.

May not get better until fault is acknowledged on either side of the equation. The shame of the Virginia 7th’s flag being marched through the capital building is a desecration equals to any of the crimes mentioned above. The failures of the reconstruction period of the 1870s and subsequent reinforcement of a financial aristocracy with the 1896 Supreme Court decision granting 14th amendment protection for personhood of corporations, led to the travesty that is the citizens united decision of 2010. I hear so many of my countryman derided “Government” and understand this to be an abdication= “WE” are the government. So as to those who would control; I see equal attempts to control the trappings from both extremes. The hope I feel at the end of this video is a willingness and perceived ability to work on consensus toward just action with men like theses. My stances of issues hinted at or stated by them are in opposition to theirs ie. Government does can and has helped. As a native Rhode Islander I believe strongly in the separation of Church and state. And that “Humans Law” is not a substitute or denial of “ God’Law” but merely an agreement to seek in practical application that which is self evident.

“Conservatism” is about holding ground - maintaining the status quo. This is purely a defensive strategy. Conservatism is progressivism driving the speed limit. If you want to restore a constitutional republic, it won’t happen by embracing conservatism - we’ll need to become something MUCH different.

Oh man I wanted to crawl out of your cameras and actually answer some of the questions myself👊🤣. I was born in Venezuela but the United States has father me since I was a kid. We the people are very hypocritical. We don't really like to see others using their rights, even when it does no harm to us.
Freedom says I can do what I want, unless I harm others.
Freedom says I can cross a street where I feel like it.
Is it the right thing to have police ticket those that jaywalk?
Freedom says I can smoke a plant if I choose.
Is it the right thing to have police arrest, take property, etc. if I do?
Freedom says I can carry arms.
Is it the right thing to restrict that?
Freedom says I can marry whomever I choose.
Is it the right thing to tell me otherwise and/or it's not real if it is not state sanctioned?
Just a few examples that could fall under that.

When they pushed the Romans out in 66 AD they felt God was on their side and thought he would help them in 70 AD and found out that was not the case. Not sure if you mean to discourage revolution today or encourage it but it was a good objective review of how things have worked in the past with some talk of what it means for our current world. Example... with a two party system that we have here in the states, it's turning into a true democracy the further we as in citizens are being pushed apart. Two wolves and one sheep deciding what's for dinner. Our great leaders of the past warn about this time and time again. But now with the crony capitalism, combined with great technological advancements, it's almost being run like a corporatocracy. The only way I feel to steady this ship is to allow a third party for better checks and balances. But until the people understand that the media and big tech (corporatocracy) will not allow this to happen, because of the power of control, this can never be achieved. They will shut you down... until, a leader emerges with ideological change

However, most people who are currently pushing the idea, like this man you have had on, that this is not any different then previous times , or that it is less severe, fall victim to separating out country by country, viewing each of their histories as sperate. However view the situation from a true 30,000 feet, and you come to a very different conclusion.....this tyranny and power grab is not isolated to America....or to England...or to Australia....or to China. All of the worlds countries are dancing to the same COVID/forced/mandate tune witch does beg the question who is playing the music, and also states that if you do view all of this as a whole, it is not the same, and it is far worse because it is not an isolated country with this problem, it is the whole face of the earth....we need to go read the Bible, specifically, the book of Daniel as well as Revelations. They are not written to scare us, they are written as a love letter to us to let us know, fear not....yes these things will happen, and yes it will feel lonely and hopeless, but stay in my word, because I have already seen this, know this, and am over and beyond it. The nature of things requires that we speak in generalities. If I understand you, I think I agree with you.
It is not about left vs right anymore (if it ever was). It is about the people in power growing that power by transforming all of the nations into one world order. The one world elitists are doing everything they can to undermine any sense of nationalism or national identity. To foist the idea of One World Order, they need the United States to give up on the grand experiment of the government being answerable to the people, and have that spirit broken until any help at all seems like a blessing.
It was the so-called Republicans who told Ukraine that their fight was our fight (the US) as far back as 2016. This was a threat to the national sovereignty of Russia who has been resisting the One World Order of NATO. Russia is a nationalist State (as corrupt as it may be) fighting against those who want no State identity.
When Kamala Harris went to Ukraine and expressed admiration for their desire to join NATO, they knew this would push Russia into the invasion, which they did three days later.
Both sides of US politics have been angling toward war with Russia.
Russia is certainly not on the side of the freedom loving people of the United States, but oddly we seem to be resisting the same forces trying to drag every nation into the same pit of despair.
It's George Orwell's nightmare coming true: Three global states constantly at a manufactured war to keep the people full of patriotism and fear, and Big Brother in control of information and individual free expression. Just go back to work and appreciate what the government allows you to have in wages, which is just barely enough to survive. Do not aspire to anything other than the place they put you. You are a victim of the bad people overseas and Big Brother will protect you from them, as long as you contribute to the cause, do your part, and keep doing your job quietly. Your earnings will go to a good cause.
      Yeah. Right.
So again I say, why should we wait for things to get worse before we have to recognize all options must stay on the table?
