Not needed, but a luxury. And if you work as a electrician every day, you are investing in yourself. Less stress, less frustration, less stress in wrist. Less stress in shoulder/back
Good Video Joe , I am sure you will like using the latest speedE ll from wiha , just to mention the LED lights flicker when the batteries are at 20% of charge , also you will note as a safety feature when you move the switch from 0.4 Nm to 1Nm and turn the motor on the lights flicker slightly to warn you that you have the higher torque switches on so you don’t do any damage to small terminals, hope this helps
I had the same reaction, I hope that's just the price in the US, otherwise it's a ridiculous ripoff. There's nothing special about it over many other models w/same specs in the $20-$50 range.
If you're going to have a race I think the advantage will go to whomever doesn't have the Speede II, as the other person will be having to deal with the psychological trauma of having parted with more than 200 quid for a screwdriver!! 😪😪😪
As a tool creep I really want to like the speed e (1/2) but could never justify the price for something I’d be too scared to lose or abuse daily. There needs to be more hype about the Wera Turbo. Battery free, Costs a fraction of this and is a normal usable screwdriver until you turn it on. Great informative video regardless and still some very cool kit. Nerd rant over. 🤘🏻
I did not know about the Wera Turbo! Very interesting product, thanks for commenting! Though I think I would prefer the motor drive. (I have the Miniware ES121 which is awesome, but have not tried the Weha speedE nor the Wera Turbo)
Oh dear, Wera Turbo and Wiha SpeedE are competitors my friend XD I tried one of those cheap chinesium screwdrivers (WowStick 1F+), and the thing broke real quick.. they're just too fragile.
I'm late to the party but I have a Wera turbo and don't find its party trick very useful - it's a brilliant and very well-made screwdriver in itself, but I'm yet to find a situation where I want the extra speed AND the torque required is low enough to allow use of the geared mode. I have a serious Wera addiction too, so I really wanted to love it.
i use my wera turbo for socket faceplate screws and consumer unit face plate screws. where there is little resistance. gets screws in or out without the tedium.
Nice bit overpriced luxury, Personally I think the handife is a better choice, got mine a couple of weeks ago and I can’t fault it I love , it’s ideal for faceplate screws and fixing ceiling rose to the ceiling as well as fitting back box’s. The speedy i or two I like the look of but would I buy one know I would not . And how many people will keep it in that silly fancy box not many , it will go in the toolbag / toolbox with all the other screwdrivers . Fantastic video as always Joe 👍👍❤️
We sparks seem to have completely forgotten about Stanley pump screwdrivers they were the dogs bollocks for speed when 2nd fixing housed I reckon pump driver would easily beat any electric driver?
The Stanley Yankee - yeah you're right they were great, I could pommel screws into the wall all day long, no batteries, no fuss? Have we really moved forward? Think of all the needless waste of plastic and lithium.
The price just blew me away, but I persevered, then I was informed that this driver does not accept 1/4" bits? WHAT ? Well, that's the end of that then. Was a close one, I nearly brought a v expensive paper weight. Why did you not say anything? Thx but no thx.
Have they still got that the really cheap rubber band for holding in the driver bits.... That comes out when you change the bit? I'm still waiting to hear back from Wiha, nearly a year... Their customer service in the UK is rubbish.
They spent more time thinking about the case than they spent on engineering a screwdriver that would be even the slightest bit useful in real world settings 🙇♂️. I like wiha products, but don't try to sugar coat such a useless piece of garbage. The best parts of this is the ring light and the packaging 😂.
Let’s do a head to head can’t wait. I already have mine on order from Germany using a German supplier but wiha have had issues in supplying it’s been nearly 2.5 months of waiting. I don’t need to carry so many screwdrivers it lightens what you carry. Also the repetitive strain is reduced. Moreover doing up screws is a boon I would have liked an insulated magnetic tip holder attachment that would allow easier holding off screws. Don’t you hate when you drop screws half way up a ladder!!!When you do the review it’s not just about tightening but also about how fast you can loosen screws especially in sockets when you have longer screws and box fill of conductors is pushing against the direction of loosening making it harder to loosen. So please do both tightening and loosening tests.
I was liking this, i thought nice packaging, then i thought that comes in a nice case, then you opened the box, a bit of a let down with only 2 screwdrive bits, for this price i would expect a lot more than 2! well overpriced for what you get.
I suspect this is targeted towards electricians who already have a full set of Wiha insulated driver tips, so including only the two tips needed to make it minimally functional is more than appropriate.
I need a small electric screwdriver for wall plates I can put in my tool belt. How much does it weigh compared to the first? I can only find online that it weighs 2 lbs. If that is true it is just too heavy where every ounce matters
In my view this is an exceptionally expensive waste of money. It is just an electric screwdriver if you must have an electric screwdriver there are many cheaper and better options. The worst part of the design is the fact that it is a TWO handed operation to use it correctly. The other thing the elephant in the room is the crazy price. Do not be taken in, once it hits the bottom of the tool box you will not go looking for it, just like the other one you bought.
I appreciate the review and I was not aware of this tool, so thanks for the video. I have a suggestion for you to improve the video quality. Please right a script, or at least reshoot segments if you feel they’re too wordy. There was a period there from about 5:40 to 6:15 where you basically said nothing. It was devoid of any information beyond “let’s look at the technical specs and see what’s new”, but you said that multiple times in like 100 words instead of 10. Makes people turn off the video
Joe: So just be careful pointing at your eyes. Joe 5 seconds before: Pointing at 1.3M pair of eyes. 😂😂 But the video is very well made. An early flash warning will be helpful in future.
you said exactly what it was designed for, repetitive work, then, like in the first review, you are talking about a race. In the real world there is no way you would be screwing up accessories like that for 8hrs, if you want speed you would use a small 10v or 12v driver.
Are they not available in the Uk yet? I’ve searched and I need one. The first model had an issue with the O ring the holds the bit in, do you know if this has been modified?
I’m just going to say now I’d never use a tool like this or any sort of torque screwdriver, totally pointless, sparkys have managed without them for years and will do so for years to come.

Powertools are not for speed the are for not wearing your body out doing up hunderds of fasteners.
Shhhh! ... electricians have a bad enough name for being the softest trade without argueing that doing up terminal screws wears your body out!
