I also think it's a good idea to have such a different concept and vibe. I mean, not only do we have options, but it shows that they CAN do both! Plus, the performances we're gonna get with this song are going to go CRAZY! I like all the experimentation. I feel that way about the whole album too! The production is so full! @@VG24601 I don't hate Kep1er's lightstick, especially since you can customize it and make it your own! ZB1's ring lightstick is just *extra* cute... I'm jealous - I admit it! No blame on either group though ❤️; all shade to W1. They're the real culprit, after all. 😒
The “Yes Sir” line caught me off guard lmao. If you take the lyrics at face value, you can totally interpret it as them singing about having a crush on a guy and I LOVE that that’s even a reasonable interpretation.
I love the fact that all Zerose became basically Yujin mothers lol It's always "Oh my god, they're so hot", and as soon as Yujin hit the screen it becomes "Yujinieeeee".
Well, I mean, I'm with you, it's great that we have collectively embraced Yujin as our son, but let's maybe not forget that Gunwook is eighteen years old, and Ricky and Gyuvin are both nineteen. They may not be minors, but it's just under the wire, and as a fandom we should probably be more chill about these literal teenagers. Even if they look like THAT.

They say gosh because it's a play on words. Gosh sounds like the Korean pronunciation of the word thorn (Kashi), which is the Korean title of this song that's in brackets next to "CRUSH."
Every time I hear it I die a little inside, because no matter how it's pronounced "gosh" and "crush" DOESN'T ACTUALLY RHYME!!
zhang hao just went on lee mujin service and it was incredible - he sang always, taeyeon’s rain, stayc’s so bad, and jin’s epiphany…he also spent 26 minutes flirting with lee mujin which was adorable. i’d love if you guys checked it out!

I think this was a super smart move, and somehow it feels like they're already a building a ZB1 'sound' cause those lighter parts of the track like that twinkling sound idk, keep it grounded in ZB1 so cleverly. It's really cool, maybe a bit more conceptual in sound than In Bloom, they're giving VERSATILITY. I'd love your reactions to the rest of the songs, OH AND ALSO Zhanghao was on Lee Mujins Service and he was so awkward and wonderful
guys there's a fanfiction out there called "The Sun Prince" by fruitsoda, its a royal setting with kings and knights and swearing to protect and amazing world building, highly recommend to everyone. i was going CRAZY when i saw the concept photos cause it felt like they stepped out of that world!!

@@TheAmpliverse his duality is actually mind blowing. Like, he's not quite to the level of the demon line in Ateez, but he's already pretty damn close and I think w/ the right choreo and concept he could totally pull off something like Guerilla or Halazia.

the fairytale christmas-y vibe of their album was so good and the production omg 😳
I agree that its smart for them to do something quite different to their debut, but not so far off that it doesnt still feel like them. That high, tinkling sort of drum and base beat is still there from In Bloom, its just a little faster and the rhythm is more interesting. They didnt really go darker, just upped the intensity and power while still keeping the vocals quite bright and boppy. It weirdly kind of reminds me of Xikers' song Homeboy bc both have quite emotional vocals and lyrics juxtaposed with a strong electronic sound that somehow work really well together.
I also think its smart for them to show off their dance more, and for me at least this choreography suits the style of dance of most of the members. I actually thought the mv sped up their dancing via editing, then i watched their comeback showcase and was like "daaayum, they really are moving that fast and sharp".
I hate to open that can of worms, but it seems that unlike Kep1er someone on ZB1's team actually knows what they're doing as far as their artistic direction.
That quick percussion beat you were talking about is drum and bass genre which was present in In Bloom as well. It is very y2k futuristic sounding. NewJeans uses it a lot too which slay. It’s in that jersey club-tinashe sound. I love it too and gravitate towards it.
Did anyone watch the movie Percy Jackson ? Idk why but yujins cast on the arm reminds me of how Percy’s best friend was on crutches but really he was a satyr and the crutches were for disguise as Percy’s protector. Yujins cast on the same arm as the armour just hit me like WOAH maybe they’re connected idk

Have you guys had the chance to listen to the album? The ice fairytale concept is definitely there! All throughout the mini, you can hear those crispy synths, quick percussive beats, and sooo much ambiance. It honestly sounds like I'm racing against time in a frozen tundra trying to make it to the snow castle to save the loml 😭
People are hating just to hate at this point. We can't expect ZB1 to do the same thing over again.

Although the initial beat drop of the chorus of the song is very different from what we've seen, the post-chorus and final chorus are very similar in style to In Bloom. The songs compliment each other, like In Bloom was Daytime and Crush is Nighttime. I'm also curious to what the album covers will spell out as they get further in their career. For now, the cropping makes it say "You Had Me", so I wonder where it'll go from here.

I love our boys so much, they are always killing it and doing all that can possibly be done with what they are given, but honestly? The song is kind of a mess. They are saving most of it with vocals and charisma, but the NCT-esque noise section in the chorus is straight up bad. Also, the styling is weak again (I only like the street style looks), screentime distribution needs work and there's too much cgi. They did put Ricky on a motorcycle though, so I suppose we have to thank their team for this contribution to the culture.
Over all, it's not cohesive enough for me. The comeback doesn't build on anything that's been established about the group in the debut (except maybe a style of choreography). It doesn't tie with any of the concept shoots, or the name Melting Point, or the general wintery-ness the pre release content was giving. I'm kind of mad about the arthurian legend and knight stuff, it came out of nowhere and doesn't add up to anything in terms of story. Not everything has to be lore, but you can't start with Hao suddenly holding a sword and then do absolutely nothing with it. I don't mean to be a hater, but there's just such wasted potential! In the end the creative vision over at WakeOne isn't strong enough (which is fair, making good art is hard and they aren't a kpop centered company, they don't have the in-house talent and on top of that the release schedule is crazy).
Once again the best thing about a ZerobaseOne release is the choreo, which is still interesting and distinct, though less consistent than In Bloom. I do look forward to seeing them perform it. It's still gonna be great, mostly due to the sheer starpower of the members, and everyone looks absolutely god damn incredible. I'm also SEATED for the flood of variety content we are in for.
Thank you Adam and RJ for staying on the Zb1 madness journey with us. Watching you go feral over these boys together is a joy in my life ❤.
Let's hear it for the boys, lets give the boys a hand. This song keeps a similar sonic genre while giving us a taste of a slightly darker concept. The MV, the styling, the whole concept and the album, let's just say whatever creative WakeOne hired for them is swinging big and hitting it out of the park so far, and for them that is saying a lot. My favorite is the leather and button up combos, and the armor mixed with school outfits is just UGH. Anyway, love every second of this comeback so far.
I really can't wait for you to watch the comeback stage with the FURS, it is really all too much. I am sending you some cash to get a lightstick, I really expected better from you RJ.
