The P831 will print on both thermal and copy paper. HOWEVER, you can remove the ink ribbon when printing on thermal paper and not waste that on the thermal. Leave the frame but remove the carbon rolls for thermal savings.
Very informative video so I thank you for that But it is terribly unfortunate that there is not one machine that does all of it. You buy this type of machine but you can't print a normal document out For example a legal document or something that has to be submitted to a company. And I suspect that type of document is the one that people need a printer for mostly. Most people aren't small business owners for example
Yea I feel your pain. I also initially thought regular paper would work until I tried it. It’s not very clear. However, it has come in handy a lot. You never realize when randomly you’ll need something printed. Having it at your fingertips is useful. The paper is slightly thinner but it’s useable.
I wasn't sure either before buying this. Then I learned that you can't print on regular paper later. That does mean extra cost, but if you're a business owner or on the road a lot, this has helped in many situations so for that alone, its still worth it.
You will pay more per printed page, however no more ink cartridges, heads and mess. I am looking forward to receiving mine next week! Excellent review!
Yea I get that. But there isn’t much yet in terms of portable printing options. Office supply stores do have them and also getting a bulk order from Amazon is a potential. Someone also commented they got some from Temu at a great price
That’s correct. BUT. This thermal printer is portable, can fit in a medium sized purse or just a regular bag and can print anywhere. That’s the perk with this one in particular. I have used it for business and personal needs so many times. And helped others. That’s the convenience factor

M08F papers 16 $ 100 sheets , and normal A4 papers 5$ 500 sheets and you say "reduced cost " !
You CAN print on normal paper with this printer! You just need to insert Phomemo Thermo Transfer Ribbon into the printer!

no app on computer so how do you use it with a regular laptop?
@@LillieMoore-d8f there is a usb cable that comes with the printer and you insert that to your laptop and it connects through that.

@ I have had this for over 2 years now. I have not replaced anything. I use it Everytime I travel which is a lot and it’s never been a problem.
@ the transfer ribbon may have to do with when you want to print on regular paper. I haven’t tried that myself so I’m not sure about that
