So..there is so much to unpack here. Dare I say this is the edit of my dreams? I've been waiting for a long time to actually feel like I'm good enough at editing to even attempt something like this. The mini script I had in mind is basically a mix between Gotham, his comic book origin and Batman Begins. You can find the whole miniplot below the regular info!

► Plotline: Jonathan Crane is a professor of psychology who is obsessed with fear because of his his traumatic past and childhood. He wasn't experimented on by his father in this version but has an abusive family background coupled with being bullied when he was younger. After he gets fired for his unusual teaching methods it goes downhill. The nightmares and surreal visions that plague him get worse.
Prior to becoming the Scarecrow he kills his abusive grandmother and the parents who abandoned him. He gets apprehended but escapes shortly after because..well, it's Gotham. While the GCPD is on the search for him he finally puts on the costume and becomes one with the Scarecrow. He develops his toxin, kidnaps people to conduct his experiments and perfect his formula. That's when Batman gets involved after Gordon asks him for help once traces of the toxin are found.
Crane will kill some of his test subjects, others he'll let go to tell the tale since he views killing as a side effect rather than the goal and his victims incoherent reports would spread even more panic through the entire city. His true end goal is one massive field experiment on Gotham with his fear gas. He takes over ACE chemicals with some of his surviving test subjects who surprisingly turned into his followers and view fear as kind of a religion with Scarecrow as the god of fear (that's what they'll refer to him, they are basically completely crazy and even Crane didn't expect this side effect but welcomes it). Chaos spreads through the city along with the detonation of a fear gas bomb. Batman follows his traces to stop him from doing further damage. During their last fight he'll wear the more traditional costume with the hat.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk, hope the universe will give us a Scarecrow movie because I've been thinking about plot ideas for over 10 years and I'm tired lol

I cannot even find the words to describe how much I adore this. Cillian's scarecrow was my favorite and I'm always bitter we didn't get more of him on screen. This concept trailer is really one of my dreams.

I always felt that Cillian Murphy deserved more screen time as Scarecrow. I would have had him be the main villain in Batman Begins and have Ra's al Ghul come back in The Dark Knight Rises along with Bane.
Exactly my thoughts! Ra's is a good character but I never cared much for his plot in Batman Begins, considering his endgame was using Crane's gas anyway they could have just used Scarecrow as the main villain lol
@@alanacrane Nolan originally had no plans to make a trilogy and maybe that's why he decided to finish the story of Ra's al Ghul in Begins, I think that if Nolan and Warner had planned to make a trilogy from the beginning, maybe Nolan would have saved Ra's al Ghul for a next movie. Ra's al Ghul's mentor plot would keep her in Batman Begins.
Cillian murphys scarecrow was underrated he did such a good job, fantastic edit!

Awesome job, as always! If he doesn't get his own movie, we NEED to see Pattinson's Batman face off against him. Scarecrow fits the darker feel of the movie and is definitely good enough to be the main villain in a sequel.

I feel like most writers use Scarecrow as a plot device to force Batman and his allies to face their greatest fears. Shame because Scarecrow has the potential to be very interesting.
You nailed the problem. A solo Scarecrow movie would have infinite potential

Hell yes! They probably won't since we already had one masked villain with the Riddler but they could introduce him in the Reevesverse Arkham show first

Super cool! I do love, how you used a shots from other movies with Cillian. Such a great actor. To bad, he had so little time in DK trilogy. You know, that's actually cool idea, a spinn-offs about Batman's enemies. By the way, I wonder. If Scarecrow appears in future Reeves-verse, What is your dream cast for him? Mine is actually super strange, but at the same time, I love it - Andrew Scott. There's just something in his gaze, thats looks super creepy amd sinister to me.
Thank you so much! Andrew Scott is an interesting pick, he was great as Moriarty. To be honest, I have never really looked at an actor and said "wow, he would be perfect for Scarecrow!" so far. When it comes to talent and potential I think both Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Jake Gyllenhal could perform really well

Scarecrow is my favorite batman villain, I would LOVE to see him facing Robert Pattinson Batman, the problem is RP batman takes it self really seriously, that's why it would be hard to portray propertly his toxin effects in this world, but if the movie team made an interesting way to make it look awesome and as much grounded as needed I would be pleased. Imagine an asylum doctor that sees what batman are doing to the people of gotham, strikes fear, drives people to fobias and others madmans(like riddler) decides to play vigilanties for themselfs. Here he decides to take Batman down and to do that he needs to play at dark knight game, he needs a mask, a symbol thats strikes fear, a Scarecrow.

Damn this was really well put together for my favorite actor. I always wanted to see a standalone Scarecrow/Dr. Crane film. That character was just too awesome to be underused. Cillian Murphy is a badass and a legend. Fear is such a mysterious and an interesting element of the human being. I'm really excited for Oppenheimer. Finally gets the lead role in a Nolan movie that he has deserved for years working with him. Irish and European icon. Absolutely fantastic career. Love all his movies he nails everything no matter how much or little screen time he has. Sunshine is probably my favorite. Such a great sci-fi journey.

Thank you so much! Him and Riddler would definitely get along :) I mostly used Cillian Murphy movies from 2000-2012, the majority is from his movie Red Lights

Definitely! Scarecrow has been my favorite forever..I'd say I have never felt more connected to any fictional character, he means a lot to me. So yeah, I'm named after him lol

A bit of both, he's obviously a great character with one of the best aesthetics I've ever seen but unfortunately I can also relate a bit too much to his backstory. Villains who weren't born evil but rather shaped by their life cirumstances are the most interesting to me because of that

Cillian was just perfect BUT I think we could have a more accurate Scarecrow played by Willem Dafoe. The original character was indeed ugly and horribly skinny.
@@lindildeev5721 willem dafoe would be perfect for joker in my opinion or more of an arkham knight scarecrow, but i prefer cillians verson, it’s asif he portrays an earlier time in Cranes life before becoming a true monster, i guess it just depends on what approach the directors or writers are trying to go for, either way, Scarecrow is a goated character
Also one thing I like about your plot description is that you don’t make him a anti hero. He’s a villain who wants to hurt people.

I literally studied every Jonathan Crane moment in The Dark Knight trilogy and i know there was no scene like that, and yet that frame and line fits so well. Is that just an incredible coincidence or is there some kind of Scarecrow special?
That's from a 2012 called Broken with Cillian Murphy and it just happened to be perfect for the edit, haha. Most of the footage and voice lines are taken from his 2000-2012 movies. I used the movie red lights the most in this
