Morning Mr. sled. Nice to see you have another episode out. It is good to see old boys and there toy's, because I can relate and know I'm not the only one .well besides Waylon . Well I'm out of coffee , so I hope you have a great day and will see you in the next one..
Hi Walter! Thanks for watching! We have a newer 1979 Oshkosh with a rollover plow. There are videos of that one. Looking for a V plow for this one! Do you have a Walter Snow Fighter?
@ NO, I don’t have one! Back in the 40’s when I was a little boy, my farther used to plow the local airport with one. In the last year, the tractor was completely restored, and sold at auction! A 1938 Walter with V plow & double wings. It was Beautiful. Sad to see it go!!!
That's a great question. The hood is in 4 pieces. The side panels actually just unhook and can come completely off, so you can access the engine without taking the top off. You can do most of the regular checkups through the sides. If the top of the hood needs to be opened, the exhaust is in two pieces. The top part of the stack is fixed tightly to the bottom (which is a slightly smaller diameter, so the stack slides down over it) with a clamp that's similar to a pipe clamp. You can loosen one bolt and quickly pop the stack off. Then the top of the hood can open. It's about a 5 minute job. Same idea as a farm tractor. Let me know if this makes sense! I'm not always good at written explanations. Thank you very much for your comment, and I hope to see you on my next video!
That thing is awesome!

How do you open the hood with the stack sticking out?
