As I’m watching this video I’m surrounded by cardboard, glue and wooden sticks. I’m making my first ever miniature from scratch because of this channel. It’s a very basic little house but I’m proud to be making it anyways. Thanks Boylei ☺️
Howdy. You probably won't see this, but I LOVE your train videos! The landscaping you use is always so creative and I love the unique design you do for every single one! Greetings from Texas, have a fantastic week.
I genuinely always wonered what the numbers referring to trains meant. . . Now I know it is the wheels! This isn't just a modelling channel, it's educational too! Thanks for that!
Man, I love this universe a lot. This is an awesome addition. Also, you've now mentioned mermaid chupacabras (threat to boats) and chupacabras (threat to trains) so I imagine there to be aerial chupacabras as well.
My Fav Scale! HO, for me it seems to be the perfect size for building with NEW IDEAS! Man I can't wait for your NEW world to come to life! Sunday Coffee Waffles a BHT! HECK YEA! I also Live in Colorado! WOOP WOOP!
I love how that train turned out! Appling the new paint with a sponge really gave the new colors a lot of texture/dimension. I've seen a similar effect done by "dabbing" with a short, stubby brush, but I now want to try the sponging techique. Looking forward to seeing the new WIW layout for this wicked cool train. I know however cool I think it'll be, you will make it ten times better. Keep on keeping on!!
Awesome build. Awesome story. And awesome video. Here's a small rp from me to offer flavor. "People from the cities always say that the train is the best way to travel. Well, I don't know what you east coasters know about trains but we in the west know them for what they truly are. Monster baits on tracks. Those things cause so much noise and movements monsters will move to attack a train from miles around. Even those big fancy guns of theirs ain't going to do squat when a giant-sized sandworm or ant lion destroys the tracks. Or the train itself!" "My brother was a coal miner. He witnessed half a train get swallowed by a sinkhole caused by one of those big nasties. Took two days to repair the tracks. Took bloody two months until a replacement train arrived." "There is a reason why they need those fancy supply carts with extra supplies, it is to repair the tracks every time a monster damages them. And guess what happens when they drive back to the east coast after finishing repairing the tracks all the way here? The exact same thing. Time and again. Rinse and repeat. All for the fat cats greasing their pockets with the oil and blood of trains and people." -From an interview with a local monster hunter in Colorado
You should make some kind of train engine/mech that places train tracks down for a new railway. May or may not get attached by some kind of beast that doesn't want more railroads 👍 great video!
You are the man. It has never occurred to me to put tape over old blades like that. I used razor blades at work & have found old ones the hard way when I've had to find something I threw in the trash. That tip alone is AWESOME!!! Also, the pics you shared of your followers' creations were all fantastic looking. A lot of creative people out there. On the layout, I'm really looking forward to see what you do with your amazing looking new train set. With the circle, I wondered if it was going to be some kind of prison/holding spot for dangerous cryptids with the train circling for extra protection. LOL
I find it rather amazing, the way thing are with everyone being connected, we can watch someone bring the stuff they see in their head out into the real world! Also how so many people support the creation of stuff like this train set, also the filming and editing of videos explaining what you did and why
It's just a guess, but I imagine there are many of us Model Railroaders that keep tabs on your channel just hoping you will eventually make the leap into the hobby in earnest!! A themed railroad similar to Dave's over at Thunder Mesa Studios but only based on the Imaginary Wild West. It would be epic and wonderful to see. Love the Denver & Rio Grande!! Thanks for providing inspiration to all modelers! ~Dennis at the OC&RG
First thing I noticed is that I’ve been saying Colorado wrong my entire life. I can’t believe I’ve never really paid attention to how you say it before. Great work. My husband and I love your channel.
So excited when I got up this morning to see a new video. Love the west stuff particularly and this train turned out really cool. As a writer, I live for the lore.
Your train video was the first video I ever saw from your channel, after that I was instantly hooked and have been watching every week. I can’t believe it’s been a year….. Keep up the good work and funny commentary, I’ve enjoyed every second!!!❤
I want to thank you for sharing other crafter's works with us, especially those with YT channels. As you probably know, youtube algorhytm always suggests same people again, again and again (or it suggests those "entertaining" crafters like nerdforge) so its kinda hard to find new good channels sometimes. Thanks a lot!
Probably disappeared in the comments somewhere on a previous build, but I had offered the idea for a variant of this. Glad to see you had come to the same thought set. My older comment was it was an old confederate train the Pinkertons ended up with. After "tactically acquiring" it from it's previous owners.
This is awesome. Just as an idea, I’ve seen the Big Boy locomotives referred to as ‘the train that conquered the Rockies.’ If the railroads are having so much trouble, maybe a massive, heavily armed and armored war train is just what they need. It’s a little anachronistic, but I think it’d be cool.
Having had to suture many a crafter's finger, I confirm what Boylei said about using a sharp new blade on utility knifes and such. Not only do you need less force and have thus more control but should you go over, the cut will be nice and defined, easily made good with a few stitches. On the other hand, a dull blade will have you put more force and when the accident happen you are putting more force on a blade that will cut as much as rip into you skin and flesh. These wounds are much more painful, take longer to heal and, even if i'm careful and delicate, will leave a nasty scar.
I tinker in building and weathering scale models most are 1:35 scale. I came across your you tube videos while getting ideas so I'm hooked, I had an idea for your next, next build. "What IF" Christpher Columbus had to cross the prairies with his ships, Santa Maria, Nina, Pinta, using wagons with the ships strapped to them, sailing across the grass lands.
Definitely tape your blades before throwing them away, or place them in a hard container! Stops them from potentially ripping open your garbage bags, or worst case scenario, accidentally cutting yourself 😅 I had a job cleaning offices in uni and when emptying a bin at an architectural firm, the bottom of the bag tore open from all the old blades someone dumped in it. I didn't know and tried to stop it spilling, wasn't wearing gloves either so sliced up my fingers pretty good!
In real life we had the silk trains. Fast engines with priority routing and the only passengers being armed guards to protect the precious silk cargo. Insurance was that expensive that getting it to the mills meant speed was king. Seeing these armed cars brings that to mind for me.
Awesome work. I feel like the train needs some kind of ram in the front to push objects out of the way so there's no need to stop and clear it manually. Leaving them exposed to whatever might be lurking around.
It’d be cool to se a semi- streamlined locomotive. It would totally fit the aesthetic. Just a little cowling would look incredible and it’d be fun to add little greebles and a custom paint job 🔥
Love the train! Wouldn’t it make more sense for the gun on the last car to face backwards tho? The train is vulnerable to attacks from the rear as is, especially from raiders with fast vehicles
You take things that are already cool...and you make them so much better! What a great world we would live in if everyone did the same thing!!! Thanks for inspiring us Boylei!!!
I really love the world you've created! It sounds so cool with huge monsters in a wild west setting. Can't wait to hear more about it in future videos!
As I’m watching this video I’m surrounded by cardboard, glue and wooden sticks. I’m making my first ever miniature from scratch because of this channel. It’s a very basic little house but I’m proud to be making it anyways.
Thanks Boylei ☺️
Honestly, the confidence to scratch build my first model cabin is due in large part to this channel. That's so cool that you're working on one too!
Hey, best of luck on the build!
Hell yeah
You go my guy! I feel second hand pride for everyone who has the courage to try new things
i made my first thingy because of this channel too!
The train turned out amazing, can't wait to see what the terrain will look like when it's finished!
I genuinely look forward to these every week. Love when you add to the wild imaginary west. Can’t wait to see part 2 of this project
Couldn’t say it better!
Howdy. You probably won't see this, but I LOVE your train videos! The landscaping you use is always so creative and I love the unique design you do for every single one!
Greetings from Texas, have a fantastic week.
Spoiler: We saw this
@@AshtonLim-wc2cq I know it doesn't seem like much, but seeing that little fish with a heart made my day.
I genuinely always wonered what the numbers referring to trains meant. . . Now I know it is the wheels! This isn't just a modelling channel, it's educational too! Thanks for that!
Dude, shoutout to Adam Hills, that F16 looking CLEEEEEEEAAAAAAANNNNN!!!
I love every bit of lore we get for the Wild Imaginary West. Can’t wait to see what you do with this project!
Man, I love this universe a lot. This is an awesome addition. Also, you've now mentioned mermaid chupacabras (threat to boats) and chupacabras (threat to trains) so I imagine there to be aerial chupacabras as well.
Or maybe an in-universe saying could be "When Chupacabras fly!"
I'm still waiting to see the mermaid chupacabras.
I'm picturing a branched family of chupacabras that reside in different ecosystems, like eevee's evolutions
My Fav Scale! HO, for me it seems to be the perfect size for building with NEW IDEAS! Man I can't wait for your NEW world to come to life! Sunday Coffee Waffles a BHT! HECK YEA! I also Live in Colorado! WOOP WOOP!
If the train turned out this awesome, I can’t imagine how awesome the scenery will be!!!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
I enjoy the train based Wild Imaginary West updates
I love how that train turned out! Appling the new paint with a sponge really gave the new colors a lot of texture/dimension. I've seen a similar effect done by "dabbing" with a short, stubby brush, but I now want to try the sponging techique.
Looking forward to seeing the new WIW layout for this wicked cool train. I know however cool I think it'll be, you will make it ten times better. Keep on keeping on!!
I love this so much. Makes me wish the Durango Silverton Narrow-gauge RR was like this instead of the pleasant ride it is XD.
What a treat this was. Really looking forward to seeing the new layout for this one. The world building continues!
Awesome build. Awesome story. And awesome video. Here's a small rp from me to offer flavor.

Respect to boylei for having the patience to do all of this the train turned out really cool good job boylei!

I use a lot of blades where I work. Any hard pill bottle works great too. Something small and plastic.

Congrats to the patron contributors, I am always impressed

That sketch deserves to be in a fine art museum! 🤣
So excited when I got up this morning to see a new video. Love the west stuff particularly and this train turned out really cool. As a writer, I live for the lore.
Good job, the ideas and creativity you have is outstanding. I like how you add backstory too. Thanks!
I wanna buy stuff just to kitbash because of your channel, thanks for the creative boosting
Cool to see Durango's train added to your wild imaginary west!
Train looks sweet!!!!!👍🏼 Looking forward to your next video.
**Kudos to your patrons the Artwork was awesome!!!
The way I was JUST thinking about your channel this morning and this is the first video on my feed, makes my day!
Your train video was the first video I ever saw from your channel, after that I was instantly hooked and have been watching every week. I can’t believe it’s been a year….. Keep up the good work and funny commentary, I’ve enjoyed every second!!!❤

Nice! A fun new wild west train . Looks awesome, and can't wait to see the new layout. Looking forward to it!
I love your kit bashing, but I was glad to see you talk about blade safety 😀
I love the rail gun on the top of the train, that was a nice touch
This reminds me I have a train model sitting in a box I bought to modify nearly a year ago 😅 Great work!
Oh yeah! I've been waiting for a new train build! (Something I never thought I would be interested in lol)
Amazing video as always. The lore kind of reminded me of the Tall grass episode of Love, Death and Robots.
Thank you, Boylei!
Larger train, larger diorama, larger area for monsters to be hiding in their monster hiding places. Looking forward to it!
That looks so great can't wait for the finished product always look forward to seeing what you create.
Nice way to take one of my favorite starter train sets and turn it into something creative
Can't wait to see what new terrain this train has to traverse and what beasties it has to fend off :)
Amazing work as ever. As a TTRPG player and GM, I also appreciate the world-building details.
You are such an inspiring builder. Thank you for sharing all your talents and tricks. I want to build stuff like you one day.
Great work!
As for used razor blades, I resharpen mine with a knife sharpener and almost as good as new.
Love his videos would also like to see cowboys on horses running around a multicolored firenado that would be so awesome
Uuh, can't wait to see what intricate design you'll make for the terrain!
Lovely start!
Great job on that train. I figure the diorama will be awesome.
This channel reminds me of when I was a kid and used to make those model kits of planes and cars.
Probably disappeared in the comments somewhere on a previous build, but I had offered the idea for a variant of this. Glad to see you had come to the same thought set. My older comment was it was an old confederate train the Pinkertons ended up with. After "tactically acquiring" it from it's previous owners.
That was GREAT!!! Love the paint job. Thank you Boylei for doing another art challenge!
This is awesome.

Thanks for all the tips! It seems like more than usual. I always appreciate new info and good reminders.
I love your videos, they are a highlight of my week! Thank you from an Irish Viewer
Always happy to see some Boylei.
I really loved how this train turned out! I can’t wait to see the brand new layout!
Really looking forward to the rest, lore and content alike.
Another very well done project Boylei. I enjoy watching your videos, gives me ideas for my models I've built
Looking forwards to the finished project.
Another excellent video. Looking forward to the layout/diorama for this train.
New Boylei vid brings me great serotonin :)
Great build sir. Can't wait to see some of your ideas for small monsters.
Much love
Yay! Consolidation-type locomotives getting more love and attention! :)
Amazing as always, Boylei - can't wait to see more!
Very reminiscent of The show Firefly. That blend of space western literally and figuratively.
I love how the train looks. I really want to see the new layout.
Train turned out sweet, can't wait to see the layout
armored trains, while being very impractical from a military strategy standpoint, are always cool to watch
I tinker in building and weathering scale models most are 1:35 scale. I came across your you tube videos while getting ideas so I'm hooked, I had an idea for your next, next build. I didn't know and tried to stop it spilling, wasn't wearing gloves either so sliced up my fingers pretty good!
I like the idea of this new train. Especially the railgun part! P.S. that green mat has got to be the biggest cutting mat I have EVER seen.
Your Wild imaginary West is such an incredible world building project!
Interested in seeing what a larger city (like NYC, Chicago or St Louis) would look like in this universe too
In real life we had the silk trains.
A train station for the town would be a great addition :D
I have a newfound love for Emergency Crafting Supplies! And that horseshoe will totally come in handy!
As always your work is incredible and amazing.
That's amazing! I can't wait to see what else you do with it!
This train reminds me of the one in Indiana Jones 5 / Dial of Destiny. Because of all the guns on the roofs.
Great imagination with the kitbashing stuff, you make it look so easy. Good stuff man.
It’d be cool to se a semi- streamlined locomotive. It would totally fit the aesthetic. Just a little cowling would look incredible and it’d be fun to add little greebles and a custom paint job 🔥
I'd love to see Boylei kitbash a bullet train as a prototype for mountain tunnels.
I'm endlessly entertained at a railgun encased by a railing. As always a wonderfully fantastic job!
Love the train! Wouldn’t it make more sense for the gun on the last car to face backwards tho? The train is vulnerable to attacks from the rear as is, especially from raiders with fast vehicles
This video, and the most recent from Mustard are really making me want to get into model rail.
You take things that are already cool...and you make them so much better! What a great world we would live in if everyone did the same thing!!! Thanks for inspiring us Boylei!!!
A couple of people recommend a tornado with a Thunderbird and lightning.... I agree with them! 😂
I really love the world you've created! It sounds so cool with huge monsters in a wild west setting. Can't wait to hear more about it in future videos!
I live in Colorado so I see this train everyday anyway this movie was super cool
Looking forward to your next video.👍👍
The rail gun reminds me of a thought I had a bit ago of an alternate ww2 where battleships have rail guns to fight kaijus.
This was nicely built
I’ve always wanted to see some kind of a giant vampire bat from you really enjoy your videos
Pretty cool seeing the train that rides being my work everyday turning into something like this! Love it!
This reminds me a bit of Iron Council by China Mieville. Which is about an armoured train in a kind of imaginary wild west setting.
It's giving Firefly vibes and I love it
can't wait to see what you come up with for the lay out!keep them coming!now off to work on a model now that I'm inspired to tinker.
The project looks so beautiful ☺☺
Thank you for the laughs. Much needed
Can't wait for this one's track to be double the size of the last one.
