    I literally only watched this because I recognized one of my favorite musicians. Ended up being entertained and learning some stuff about that shiny thing that holds up her guitar.

    I viewed one of their music videos and commented to my wife wondering how she was able to hold the guitar without the foot stand and still maintain such great technique and clarity of sound w/o looking like a pretzel at the end of the piece (ok I’m ancient - C. Parkening was my idol when he was 24). Now I know... may get one myself and try it. Thx...

    I have been using the guitar lift since a few weeks( home made because I did not know which on would be convenient for me but I am sure I will buy one one day). I also remarked that my guitar sounds louder!

    I recently watched some videos of Stepanie Jones' videos' with other students. It looked like they balanced the guitar on their right knees. I then watched Andres Segovia and John Williams, who both used a prop under their left foot and rested the guitar on their left leg. I am so pleased to know the students used a new invention rather than just holding the guitar wrong.

    Yesterday I saw Valeria Galimova for the first time and I thought " She holds the guitar the same way I do ! " ( in a flamenco stylee ) . After getting a new microscope I spotted the guitar support . I'm glad it hasn't taken me too long to find out what it was, and this is the first advert I've ever seen on RUclips that I want to watch over and over .....

    The scene at the end where they are walking off into the “sunset” with their guitar cases slung over their shoulders... the adhered Guitarlift makes their cases look like they have sad faces.

      I did some research and this is what I found out there are 3 different cases in the video. Karmen has a white Crossrock case, Stephanie has a black Altamira carbon fiber case and there is a third case that can be seen in the background in minute 4:20 that one is a Visenut case. I hope that helps.

    damn it, I wanted to have invented it myself, because it is so simple and so well functioning at the same time (probably it would not work on crocodile lather case, but that's a borderline scenario), but above all because I could have given it to two angels of the classical guitar like you.

    I actually really like the concept of the guitar lift but at the end of the day it's of no use for me because the guitar keeps falling off. The surface of my guitar is lacquered and absolutely even and the suction cups are new, so I have no idea what the problem might be. Does anyone have an idea?

    • @matthewmcnabb
      @matthewmcnabb 4 года назад

      Some instrument finishes are somewhat porous and suction cups don't stick well to them. Try getting some cling vinyl sheets and sticking those to the spots where the suction cups will be placed.

      @@Urbina930 I have seen some really positive reviews of this support, so I'm sure it's very effective. Like everything I'm sure it's not perfect for everyone. I just recently got a Sagework support and I'm a huge fan of it.

  • @JamesDavidWalley
    @JamesDavidWalley 5 лет назад +7

    It looks very useful, but I have to wonder about the effect on the instrument's finish of sticking and unsticking suction cups over and over, or of having those "foils" sticking on long-term, especially considering the manufacturer's disclaimer on their website rejecting any responsibility for damage to a guitar's finish from their product. That would make me rather hesitant to use it on a multi-thousand-dollar guitar.

    • @disemwu8895
      @disemwu8895 2 года назад

      Totally agreed with you. The guitar support is useful but must consider the effect of those "foils" on your guitar surface. If your guitar apply French polish like me, once you remove the "folis" from your guitar, irreparable marks will be remained on the guitar surface. Of course, it won't affect the sound, it's just cosmetic issue. I emphasisd that the product is good and useful. I just shared my experience to those guitar lovers whose guitars have French polish.

    • @mistaowickkuh6249
      @mistaowickkuh6249 2 года назад +1

      You can plug your belt sander and remove all the polish from the back plate of your guitar. It still won't change the sound noticeably. Protect your front and you're good. If you want a once and done kind of deal, have some strap buttons installed and use a good strap. You can even play standing that way which is better for your skeleton. However, if you're worried about your finish and the appearance of your guitar, you shouldn't even touch it and display it behind a glass cover. Any guitar that is used will look "used" eventually.

    Pochi giorni fa una piccola crepa (causa secco) mi si è formata proprio dove di solito alloggi la ventosa del mio supporto, coincidenza quanto mai strana, ma comprensibile.
    In quella zona infatti il legno viene sottoposto a stress tramite la messa sotto vuoto di una sua porzione
    I supporti sono un'ottima innovazione, ma la tecnica deve ancora migliorarsi. Il prossimo sarà privo di ventose
    Ma applicare delle ventose sul fondo, inoltre su una superficie così grande, lo trovo inefficiente a livello strutturale per lo strumento
    Il danno è riparabile e non voglio commenti sull'evento, in quanto personale e riportato solo come exemplum, commentate solo riguardo alla questione supporto

    I recently purchased a "big" Guitarlift after reading and watching lots of glowing reviews. I cannot say how bitterly disappointed I am. Not only has it NOT alleviated the back pain I was experiencing, as promised, but new back pain has been added to the existing plus pain in my right wrist. Unfortunately, as this was purchased mail order I am unable to return it for a refund. Let this be a caution to others: don't buy before you can try, make certain a refund is an option, don't believe all the positive reviews, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. I am now stuck with an overpriced piece of plastic.
