🇬🇧 here, this occurs when the ‘ woodland ‘ plant that prefers a dappled shade , is planted in too sunnier position . Also plant maybe deficient of correct minerals in the soil it is in . Just feed it with the correct Camellia feed etc will help . 👋👋
Hi! This could be an algae problem caused by too must moisture and humidity around the base. Best thing to do is clean up the area around the trunk, and even cut away some lower branches to allow sun and air to circulate through. That should help with the problem.

That’s exactly what I figured. I moved mine from full sun to shady area under a tree and in a few days I could see it getting greener
My most loved big flowers Camellia leaves all turned brown and fell off. Only branches left. I am in NZ, and it is summer. What can I do to save them
But what is the neem oil for exactly?? Is it to treat fungus? Pests? What is the reason camelias get those brown leaves??

Hi! Neem oil with help with some types of fungus problems but not all. I recommend using neem oil and a fungicide for serious fungus infections.
