Not to forget the 90's-era "bio" wiring that decomposes to crumbs

Thanks Pierre! I love it when you talk about the diesels! I have a 1970 220 gasser that I really love, rusty but trusty. It would be cool if you addressed these little gems 💎

I thought MB used the parallel type glow system starting on the W 116 300sd. Seems like that big large chunky glow relay was only used in the 116 series diesels and 1980 only w123 models. Then they switched over to that smaller, more common relay.

Isn’t it a good idea to upgrade the serial type glow plugs to parallel type pencil ones?

Hey! I have a question! I have a old 73' 406d om615 engine. I changed the series glowplugs to more modern once that are parallel installed. But i still have the old dashboard glow wire indicator, now this indicator glows 1/10 times.. i think its broken ..now ,could i just take it out of the system? Its a 9volt system and the new parralel plugs are also 9volts. Or will i burn something out?. I have a pull push button for glowing and i start the car with a straight wired in push button. Many thanks in advance greetings from the Netherlands 🖐️🤠✌️

Speaking of diesel issues, I have seen in forums, for a while now, people having difficulties to find vacuum pump rebuild kits and replacement pumps (piston type). Are they NLA, are there reman or new pumps or are we SOL?

I’m so sick of those running these cars into the ground too. An especially those that harvest the engine to put it into a POS Cherokee!
