Thank you for the tribute, I have just now discovered this video after reminiscing. Grace was my grandmother who I was very close to. It’s nice to see these pictures and all the nice comments about her.
Oh! Lucky you. I hope you saw her often. Memories of grandparents are among my sweetest and I saw them all too seldom. They all grew up on farms and that culture was strong in my family even though I’m a lifelong city boy. At 69 I’m a long term trek fan and your grandmother was a strong part of that even though I don’t think she was on enough.
Nice tribute! I was glad to see you included a clip from the Outer Limits episode “Controlled Experiment”, which also starred Carol O’Connor and Barry Morse. It was excellent and Grace was sexy and gorgeous in it. It was also the only comedy episode in the series. Unfortunately, Grace had a pretty tough life after Star Trek but apparently it improved later in life. Cheers! 👍👍👍 ~ John
I met her once at a Star Trek convention in Seattle back in 1978 and somewhere have an autographed 45 rpm record of a song she was selling at the time. I was happy to see that she kept showing up in Star Trek movies and TV shows like Star Trek Voyager and Star Trek New Voyages.
I remember seeing her on an episode of Death Valley Days where she played a saloon owner who was looking for gold. Great story that had her as the star and she did an amazing job. She needed more roles like this.
very nicely and artfully done. Thank you. She was really done wrong my question has always been: whose decision was it to can her? Roddenberry? Network execs?
It's been a while and I asked for this thank you very much, it's really a shame what happen to Grace because of her drug addiction she seems to be a great actress, you didn't have any clips of her from Star Trek 6 but still it was very nice thank you
ONE OF THE WORST decisions to take her off Star Trek.....they should cast her in the role of nurse chappel.......to make better use of her prodigious acting ability. ALSO, I read in her autobiography, (A MUST READ) THAT she had a persona issue with the director of the first Star Trek movie....he did his best to make her look old and unattractive.she was not happy with that .......!!!!!!!!! she had an INCREDIBLE life, lived life really hard.....super girl girl with a heart of gold...please buy her book, it is a must read.
God bless and tks my 1 st tv love, class act .
Grace Lee Whitney was a very sweet, beautiful, and talented actress. Because of her beauty, many people underestimated her great talent.
She’s one of two of my favorite TOS characters. Yeoman Rand and Spock. But she was amazing in everything else she did.

A fine and underrated star; both as Grace and as Janice, she is not forgotten.
I will not forget either of them, Philip - never, my sir.
Heart throb, one of my favorites
Thank you for this tribute. I always had a crush on her as a kid growing up. I liked the music you chose as well. Very nice. RIP Grace.
I Will Always Love You, Lady Grace Lee Whitney as Janice Rand of The Starship Enterprise
Started watching ST The Motion Picture and I had to check. Ended up here and I had no idea of her work. Beautiful tribute! Thanks Sagittarius A.

Christina Applegate???
I know why they removed her from Star Trek (they wanted Captain Kirk to be a ladies man), but i hate it that she left.
"Miri" was coronavirus; it affected the adults, not the children
