Merlin (bird) (Falco columbarius) - BIRD RINGING

One more surprise arrived before the end od the year in Dobříš region - a young Merlin (Falco columbarius). This smallest European falcon is wintering scarcely in the Czech Republic. It breeds in Scandinavia, the Baltics and northern Russia. It mainly hunts birds during direct fast flight low over the ground. We wish all bird and nature lovers plenty of similar encounters that you will remember for a long time. Let it fly!
