I hope you guys are working on a patch that will solve the unreal CPU usage. Even at no oversampling some of the presets take my CPU to 80% with only one instance of dreamsynth. And i have a pretty decent mid their new Intel unit. Still love the synth but can barely use it
@@INeedsMoneys Some of the presets are CPU intensive, but we test on a wide variety of systems. You may have to simply turn off some of the effects to see if that's where the bottleneck is on your system.
Great demo song and review. I’m a big fan of their stuff. For some reason, I thought this might be more of a 90s era take on VAs like the Virus, Nord etc. Maybe that’s on the way…
Great track! Loving the sounds chosen, and the sound of this synth. It's hard to resist buying all of the cherry audio synths for my future productions
Thank you for this very enjoyable well crafted demo of the Dreamsynth. Back in the mid-1980s, I discovered the synths of the era and saved up my money for a Sequential Circuits Six-Trak. I dabbled with it for a few years - mostly trying to recreate the lead lines of the songs coming out at that time. Oh what fun! After watching your video a few times, I am going to place my order.
SOLD!!! Loved the detailed and to the point presentation but hearing the very professional and modern sounding composition is what really sold me. What did you use for the drums though? That's another sound I'm always struggling to get right in my music and I wish Cherry Audio would consider creating a drum VST to go with the rest of their incredible synth products. Whatever you were using sounded perfect. Also, what DAW was that you were using? Thanks again for the very professional demo!
Just installed DS a couple of weeks ago, an impressive array of tools and effects to work with, which can be recombined in seemingly endless ways. The presets that came with it are more than enough to get started, but of course, more would be even better. My only complaint might be that in a few instances, the sound came out scratchy sounding, some sort of unintended noise, and also a very high pitched "hum" that would sometimes occur, but in general, it is an impressive synth engine. For $40, not at all a bad deal. I've been a Voltage Modular user for many months . . . now I have an even more elaborate virtual synth lab to work with.
Trying it out now. The sounds are amazing, but the CPU load is a little concerning. That's the only thing im on the fence with. Outside of that... Beautiful synth!
I ran into that on some of the patches too. I run into that on most Cherry audio releases but its usually only a few of the patches i have this problem with. Turn off the effects because they’re usually the worst offenders. Im running an ancient upgraded mac and i have a lot of cherry audio synths but don’t get to use them that often because they use so much processing power. When i do though i just render/ print the track. It sounds like a lot of the retro Cherry Audio synths so if you have others you probably don’t need this one. The sound is pretty nice and it does have a lot of flexibility (I would have liked a 24db filter slope though) so ill play with it a bit more before i commit.
I don't have Dreamsynth as of yet...but I do have the Arp Quadra and it has variable oversampling settings. I have a quad core PC with 16GB of Ram & the CPU usage is fine of the 3X setting. Experiment with the different settings & you should not have any issues.
I'm looking for sounds to inspire me and I love the presets. Already using choral orchestra in a song. Bought it last night and I'm very happy. Going to post the same comment on CHerry Red.
I have several of their synths. This is actually one of the best! It does a better job of the Blade Runner sound than the GX-80, and recreates the Oberheim sound too. I have created a generative patch on with Voltage Modular, and it sounds really nice with the Dreamsynth...and also the Sines synth.
It’s a shame that some (all) of the one-shot samples have a buzzy sustain to them when held - some worse than others. I’m not fond of the envelope release shape and I feel the looping of some of the sampled waves could be better. I’m surprised these flaws weren’t picked up during beta testing. There’s something odd about the reverb too - it seems to add a low level digital hash to everything (like quantisation noise). I wanted to like this but, as it is, it’s not for me. Maybe after some bug fixes.
Thanks so much for the review and walkthrough, Daniel! We're thrilled you like it!
You bet! Great job on the synth!

@@RayTheProducer Thank you Ray!
Great presentation, composition & talent. Thank you.
Thank You! I really appreciate it. :)
As a owner of them all the Elka-x is without doubt the best sounding one followed by Sines!

😆 I know what you mean!
Thanks! 😊
Thanks, Daniel. Well done, sir!
Nice demo track with plenty of DreamSynth instances. Well done.
Thanks Huston!

A must have vst😍😍
The best Dreamsynth review I have seen. Sub.
Thank you Sam! I’m glad that it was helpful. 😊
Daniel, CA are going to release their second “original” synth today. I hope you’ll have a look at it soon.
Hi Temme! I haven’t got it yet. I hope to get it next week and be able to at least create a demonstration song out of it.

Temme, I just posted a demonstration song. I hope to have time next week to film a walkthrough video.
Great review. Very classic, warm, synthwave-y. Well done to Cherry Audio devs.
Thank you Xopher! I appreciate it.
For $39.00 this is a no brainer to buy! It sounds fantastic.
Definitely! Such a fun and powerful synth! 💥

Yeah the CPU sent to the ICU the second you open the dreamsynth.

That’s great to hear! I’ve used it a bunch already. Great synth by Cherry Audio! 🔥

It's very hard for me not to buy stuff from Cherry just on reflex after the Eight Voice and DCO-106. :D
Guess if I got it?
Did you? I'm guessing yes. :)

Wasn't as keen on this one, can't figure why.
So... buy or pass?
Buy! 😊💥
Buy!
Why is that a question it's cheap
I made the mistake of buying this synth, its crap. Lots of glitches and CPU spikes. Totally unreliable. Save your dough and get Surge.
Total nonsense. It sounds wonderful. Go and buy a decent computer. 🙄
