You are so right. Any serious Star Wars fan that read comics growing up about how bad ass Mandalorian‘s were fighting should be utterly disappointed. It’s hilarious that non-lethal assassins(let that term sink in) with shock sticks can take out Boba Fett.. who somehow loses every battle he gets in from after his season started. Now we get the bad ass fighters using gauntlet wires on an animal that weighs more than probably a mountain. I have six year old nephew that called that out as being stupid. They were shooting at an animal that all they had to do was fly away from. The show is looking about as pointless as bobba Fetts season. I’m already checked out of watching this guy take his bath. The writers an directors are trash.. John Favoro seeming a lot like Cathleen Kennedy lately. Lol Maybe all the bad writing was him from the start.
One thing I love about this show is how it makes the whole universe feel cohesive. We know everything takes place in the same universe. But the prequel world feels very different to the OT and vice versa (the sequels mostly feel like the OT). But I love how the Mandalorian blends elements of every corner of Star Wars and makes them feel whole. While also exploring different corners of the universe itself. The Babu Frik race was cool to see, what other show would reference something from TROS while also being filled with aspects of the Prequels and OT.

I really loved the episode grant it The Mandalorian is my favorite tv show of all time. I agree that there was no wow factor, but I didn’t need one. It set up the season nicely and I see the direction we are going.
Felt like the story telling of this episode was for kids. I am inmune to Grogu after 2 seasons, so showing him looking out the window of the ship, rotating the chair, using the force for candy, hugging the little aliens did nothing for me, Neither did the joke of Carl Weathers repeating to mando everything the little aliens said. And the Mandos trying to fight the whale was also too silly, a scene just to show multiple Mandos shooting but with zero sense. Half the episode was meh. And after seeing Pedro pascal acting in the last of us, tis sounded like he just read his lines through the phone. Andor and the good episodes of Bad batch have spoiled me.

The IG droid will most likely be used just as a more convenient means for Grogu to get around, so it will probably be rebuilt/repurposed in a certain way so as to be capable of carrying Grogu around the inside of it so that he can more easily get around/keep up with the Mando, and additionally as armored protection against outside threats…plus most importantly it will also surely be built in with some sort air purification filtering system to protect him against the toxic elements on/beneath the surface of Mandalore…basically like a highly customized mecha suit of sorts. So if they do it like this, then I might not have anything against that then, and who knows 🤷♂️ it might actually be pretty cool to see! As for Mando, on the other hand, I’m not so sure what precautions he himself will take to further protect his body from deadly environmental conditions of the planet. I guess we shall find out soon enough…🤖🦾
I think this season should’ve started without Grogu and been about Mando trying to find someone to pass down the dark saber to. Bo Katan’s disappeared in exile. He then finds someone to potentially take the throne, but that person turns out to have very bad intentions and takes the dark saber and begins gathering mandalorians to go to war and take over the neighboring territories. Mando then discovers that he’s actually a bit force sensitive. He gets injured and is saved by Ahsoka who takes him to Luke. Luke then trains Mando and agrees to have him see Grogu (just ignore Book of Boba because it sucked anyway). Then Mando actually ends up getting a lightsaber by the end of the season and fights this Mandalorian villain that he gave the dark saber to. All the while, Moff Gideon gets broken out of prison by Empire sympathizers and he discovers the location of Luke and goes after him with an army.

felt weird that despite having mando s2.5, some scenes just felt missing, like him finding the text from the jawas, that easily could have been included amongst a bounty hunt
@@NinthShinigami SPOILER The Zillo Beast showed back up. Back in Clone Wars Palps gave the order to clone the zillo beast and up until now it was never adressed again. It starts a whole big Cloning Plotline that I imagine will tie into Mando and the Sequels at some point.

IG-11 is one of my all-time favorite characters ever! I know so many fans of the Mandalorian who absolutely love IG 11!! I am ridiculously excited that he’s coming back!! 😁🎉🎉🎉🎉
I totally get what you’re saying, but I wasn’t necessarily expecting wow. They kinda had to rebuild a story somewhat after how season 2 ended, and I thought they did a good job. Still, I get your point. Some more wow factor would have been nice.
Thanks for the great video! I still maintain that Gina should never have been fired. Ridiculous. Gina is an awesome person and total bada*s fighter. As a female Star Wars fan I loved her character. Strong female character done right. Their loss.
I didn’t mind the episode, but I don’t like the fact that they assume the entire Mando audience has also seen TBOBF. Obviously, I have and most diehard fans have, but if you haven’t, you’d be incredibly confused watching this episode.
I felt like it was not good first episode. The end felt like they were moving next scene but they ended it. Like they should of went longer with the episode. It felt like a half shit job. You never want a first episode of a new season be like unfinished type of feeling.
I think when watching the mandalorian you should consider ep 5 and 6 of the book of boba Fett as ep 1 and 2 of season 3. I feel like this works very well sine ep 5 of TBOBF was quite a good reintroduction to the Mandalorian and would be a great start of a new Mando season.
That fact that Gina’s gone is gonna take away a lot of that grit that we all loved about mando. I also don’t like how geared to children this episode was, makes me worry, and honestly caught be off guard, because I never classified mando as a kiddie show.
It felt very much like a video game. Introduce fetch quests for the main hero with baby Yoda cuteness. I feel like for older Star Wars fans (people old enough to have seen original trilogy as kids) we live in a post-Andor world. I loved Madalorian when it came out, but it now feels a touch childish. I liked this episode fine, but I hope the show matures going forward.
I thought the episode was perfect, it reminded me of everything I love about this show. It just gives me that Star Wars feeling, I love what John and Dave are doing
1. *This is the way* 2. We're back, y'all!!! 3. (3:40-14:17) *SPOILERS FOR THE SEASON 3 PREMIERE OF THE MANDALORIAN* 4. My ranking of the Mandalorian/Book of Boba Fett premiere episodes from least one to favorite are as follows: - The Mandalorian Chapter 1: "The Mandalorian" (Favorite) - The Mandalorian Chapter 9: "The Marshal" - The Mandalorian Chapter 17: "The Apostate" - The Book of Boba Fett 1x1: "Stranger in a Strange Land" (Least favorite)
Love that Mando is back. Still questioning why Grogu is back. That first fight with the big beast was COOL! Fun episode (need to have watched the Mando Boba Episodes to get where we are as well.
How was the first fight cool? They did absolutely nothing. The blasters did no damage they might as well use bullets. It was so boring and then suddenly Din is there to save the day and one shot the croc. It made them all look so weak
I guess Andor sets the bar too high for Star Wars show now especially after disappointing Boba Fett & Obi-Wan shows. I think it's pretty hard to top Andor even The Mandalorian
This episode was complete filler. Disney has completely softened every edgy aspect that made Mando so cool. The writers did the same thing with Boba, only they did him dirtier. What idiot shoots a wired gauntlet shot at an animal that’s so much more strong. Those other Mandalorians is looking like real bad fighters in the heat of battle there. Disney’s made all Mandalorians looking like idiots ever since season 3 and bobba fett. Mando talks so much and jumps from scene to scene carrying nothing but literal story info only and no actual good character building. Literally has us watching this show to see the climax of a guy take a bath. Liam Neeson was right.. Disney deluded Star Wars
I think the comments from Favreau about the passage of time from season 2 to season 3 are being misinterpreted. I think from season 1, episode 1 to the beginning of season 3, it´s just been 1-2 years.
Everything seemed fine, except the design of the pirates reminded me way too much of the aliens from Galaxy Quest, Grogu made me laugh at some moments, and I gotta admit I didn’t even pick up that the IG-11 scene was probably a reference to terminator in its own way, but like I said those pirates just don’t feel like they belong in Star Wars
Why doesn’t anyone just use bullets? The blasters never do anything they didn’t effect I-11 or whatever that crappy droid is called. And the Mandalorians not being able to do anything to that giant crocodile was hilariously bad. And again, it seems like blasters don’t do anything at all to the croc
Was a good episode. Not great. Two issues, why did Mando turn into an og stormtrooper when he tried to shoot IG-11? He couldn't hit him from two feet away. Lol 2nd, why even bring IG back in the first place?
I don’t like the idea of bringing back IG-11 but that’s only because Thor Love and Thunder left such a bad taste in my mouth and I just don’t like Taika Waititi anymore the way he had such a nonchalant attitude about making that movie. Is he a bad actor? Nope. I just would like to see a different droid with a different actor or actress. I will admit that Terminator style scene was cool though. It was just a solid episode, nothing great. I am actually looking more forward to the rest of Picard S3 than Mando S3 right now and I never thought that would happen 😂
I actually disliked a lot of this episode. Them bringing in quippy one liners, the pirates saying they HAVE to drink at the school. The way they’re bringing back IG-11, and that it HAS to be him. This one makes a little more sense and Mando doesn’t trust droids, but still. I didn’t really like this episode
after andor this ep just didnt look amazing visually, mainly nevaro scenes, it just looked too similar visually to boba fett which worries me for some reason, don't see it topping s1

Hey Sean you said there was 1 or 2 episodes that you thought were misfires in Mando. Out of curiosity which of the episodes were you referencing? Thanks and great video!
Yeah, I personally don’t agree with Gina’s firing. Chris Pratt has posted some really homophobic tweets and yet he still got to keep his role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 and Jurassic World 3. Great review!
Chris Pratt has not posted any homophobic tweets. That is a totally false narrative. All of his co-stars who know him in real life have come to his defense. Even the claim that he's homophobic doesn't come from tweets. The actual claim (which was also debunk) was that he attended a church which had ties to a different church which used to do conversion therapy. But even that was bogus as he never actually attended the church.
This episode was pretty Ok but can we talk about how good that Mandalorian child actor’s acting was at the beginning was? Amazing performance with such a small role from a young kid
A ‘just average’ episode for the opening chapter of such a massive, extremely highly anticipated season is in a way almost more frustrating than just an overall bad episode. I totally understand the need for setup, but they could have done several things to tighten it. Even Mando himself felt like a plot device specifically meant for exposition and rehashing things we already know with all his very useless lines pointing out the obvious. Pacing was off. Way too short of an episode in general. We’ve already seen just about almost literally the exact same scene we saw in The Book of Boba Fett as we got here in the opening of this episode directly after the title card where he visits the Armorer once again and she tells him the only way to redeem himself as a Mandalorian is to bathe in the springs of the mines beneath the surface of Mandalore, blah blah blah. It’s whatever, just a bit aggravating that Disney never seems to learn their lesson from mistakes they’ve made in the past and time and time again continue to make those same exact mistakes, despite all the complaints from the majority of the audience! They either just don’t care to listen, or they have heard the pushback, but it means seemingly nothing to them… 🤦♂️ 😒 Pretty generous 7/10, only because I have faith things will pick up very quickly soon enough and get very tense/exciting in no time at all. I will say that I was entertained throughout most of the episode though, of course, just not quite thoroughly satisfied enough as I wanted to be or was expecting, that’s all! Can’t wait to see more and thanks for the great review and sheer honesty as always! ✌🏼
I feel like now that they’re releasing The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch on the same day, The Mandalorian is going to overshadow The Bad Batch. Personally, I enjoy The Bad Batch for what it is, but I don’t think it’s a great show, just a decent - good show. The Mandalorian on the other hand has been amazing
Hey Sean, not sure if you remember but I believe the actress for Cara Dune said that being in Biden's America was the equivalent to being in the Holocaust. That's more than just a "Not on my side" kind of thing.
@@doiclips7892 No, I’m not. I think the Chris Pratt hate is unjustified. I was just pointing out something she literally said and posted to HER OWN instagram. A reason as to why she may have gotten fired instead of just summing it up to a general statement that paints things in a certain light. If you don’t think that’s an insane statement then I don’t know what to tell you.
The reason this feels like the 4th episode in a series is because it is the 4th episode. Last 3 episodes in BOBF were just mando episodes.
That's a pretty good point.
My thoughts exactly!

be built in with some sort air purification filtering system to protect him against the toxic elements on/beneath the surface of Mandalore…basically like a highly customized mecha suit of sorts.
I’m excited for the return of Coruscant and seeing more Mandalorians.
All the while, Moff Gideon gets broken out of prison by Empire sympathizers and he discovers the location of Luke and goes after him with an army.
lol oh my you wrote your own story lol

*_'TWO THOUSAND SEASONS'_* , Ayi Kwei Armah (1973) 📖 :
Every time I hear a character in 'The Mandalorian' speak of *_"The Way"_* , I can't help but wonder if writers/producers Jon Favreau or Rick Famuyiwa (Nigerian lineage) ever read Ghanaian author _Ayi Kwei Armah's 'Two Thousand Seasons' (first published in 1973)_ and that book's constant conceptualization of, and reference to, _"The Way"._
*_"...the rediscovery and the following again of our way, the way...Know this again.....The way is reciprocity. The way is not barrenness. Nor is the way this heedless fecundity. The way is not blind productivity. The way is creation knowing its purpose, wise in the way of withholding of itself from snares, from destroyers...."_*
felt weird that despite having mando s2.5, some scenes just felt missing, like him finding the text from the jawas, that easily could have been included amongst a bounty hunt
This was a great episode, but man that Bad Batch episode was even better. That payoff was 13 years in the making ^^
What payoff? I haven’t decided to continue watching Bad Batch but I don’t mind getting spoiled on it…
@@NinthShinigami SPOILER
The Zillo Beast showed back up.

Their loss.
It was alright. It wasn’t the most exiting, but I can tell it’s all necessary set up
👍👍
Enjoyable premiere but weakest of the Mando Premieres.
@@louisberry4403👍
@@louisberry4403 best Mando premiere by far and was really enjoyable!
@@do-not-subscribe Chapter 9 is the best premiere episode.
I really enjoyed the first episode and I loved the action!
This was a bad season premiere
Honestly in my opinion that was a horrendous first impression for the series.
Yeah, I got that vibe too.. 🙄🙄
1. *This is the way*
2. We're back, y'all!!!
3. (3:40-14:17)
*SPOILERS FOR THE SEASON 3 PREMIERE OF THE MANDALORIAN*
4. My ranking of the Mandalorian/Book of Boba Fett premiere episodes from least one to favorite are as follows:
- The Mandalorian Chapter 1: "The Mandalorian" (Favorite)
- The Mandalorian Chapter 9: "The Marshal"
- The Mandalorian Chapter 17: "The Apostate"
- The Book of Boba Fett 1x1: "Stranger in a Strange Land" (Least favorite)
Love that Mando is back. Still questioning why Grogu is back. That first fight with the big beast was COOL! Fun episode (need to have watched the Mando Boba Episodes to get where we are as well.
How was the first fight cool? They did absolutely nothing. The blasters did no damage they might as well use bullets. It was so boring and then suddenly Din is there to save the day and one shot the croc. It made them all look so weak
@@jakekayden4061 boring is they can just kill it right away .. your opinion makes no sense so you're wrong nt though
I felt the same way not bad it just felt like “yeah more mandalorian”
I definitely enjoyed the episode a lot you’re right though there wasn’t anything that wowed me but I was just happy to be back in a new season
I guess Andor sets the bar too high for Star Wars show now especially after disappointing Boba Fett & Obi-Wan shows. I think it's pretty hard to top Andor even The Mandalorian
We got terminator in mando and alien/aliens in bad batch 😂 (bad batch was somehow better even though I liked both!)
The Terminator scene was hilarious!! 😂
Felt like this ep lost a bit of the magic. It was weirdly paced imo
Lol
2nd, why even bring IG back in the first place?
My take. I did have the wow factor with the purgils and thought it was a 8/10
I don’t like the idea of bringing back IG-11 but that’s only because Thor Love and Thunder left such a bad taste in my mouth and I just don’t like Taika Waititi anymore the way he had such a nonchalant attitude about making that movie.
It’s been 2 years so maybe I’m a little off on how she ended Season 2 but it kind of felt like a Luke Skywalker TLJ turn for Bo Katan there.
Jon Favreau’s two years excuse makes absolutely no sense, so much so that there’s no way it’s true.
Love your content
Thanks for watching
I actually disliked a lot of this episode. Them bringing in quippy one liners, the pirates saying they HAVE to drink at the school. The way they’re bringing back IG-11, and that it HAS to be him. This one makes a little more sense and Mando doesn’t trust droids, but still. I didn’t really like this episode
Really enjoyed the episode a lot. Was pretty good
It was a lot of fun, and we got tons of Grogu scenes!! The main thing I didn’t like about the episode was that it ended. 😆
after andor this ep just didnt look amazing visually, mainly nevaro scenes, it just looked too similar visually to boba fett which worries me for some reason, don't see it topping s1
Last we saw Grogo went with Skywalker. I'm confused is to how he is back.
Book of Boba Fett. It's weird that it wasn't shown in the opening recap.
@@thehallowayboys They really should’ve recapped that and I would’ve liked to have seen a much longer recap. Even though I know everything that happened 😆

Hey Sean you said there was 1 or 2 episodes that you thought were misfires in Mando. Out of curiosity which of the episodes were you referencing? Thanks and great video!
I have a video ranking all 16 episodes of the show. The bottom two episodes.
I liked this episode bc it reminds me more of season 1 mando and I don’t mind there’s a big suprise
Not sure how to feel about this one. Nothing to critique really, but also nothing to talk about.
Grogu is cute and funny, but I don’t feel like he serves this story at all so far
I love the movie clips in the intro
Hey sean why nobody is not talking about the bad batch because it comes on Wednesday too
IG 11 sounds like a phone 📱
Honestly I felt that episode was bang average. The episodes are too short so doesn't give enough time to develop stories properly in the season
One of my favourite things about Andor is nothing felt rushed and all the payoffs felt deserved
dude! his name isn't BABY YODA
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout Ok, fair enough, my bad
Boring is all I have to say 😴
This episode was pretty Ok but can we talk about how good that Mandalorian child actor’s acting was at the beginning was? Amazing performance with such a small role from a young kid
I don't want to be too critical of a child but I wouldn't be calling it amazing
what did he do? barely remember the kid
Lets not forget acting is remembering lines and he just had to repeat what the adult said lol but I get it.
Better than usual for a child actor but nothing that special.
Huh? That was the most mediocre acting Ive ever seen. Are you his relative or something?
Review on the next episode?
They either just don’t care to listen, or they have heard the pushback, but it means seemingly nothing to them… 🤦♂️ 😒
Pretty generous 7/10, only because I have faith things will pick up very quickly soon enough and get very tense/exciting in no time at all.
I will say that I was entertained throughout most of the episode though, of course, just not quite thoroughly satisfied enough as I wanted to be or was expecting, that’s all! Can’t wait to see more and thanks for the great review and sheer honesty as always! ✌🏼
yep exactly
I feel like now that they’re releasing The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch on the same day, The Mandalorian is going to overshadow The Bad Batch. Personally, I enjoy The Bad Batch for what it is, but I don’t think it’s a great show, just a decent - good show. The Mandalorian on the other hand has been amazing
Episode 3 of bad batch and the 2 episodes in Coruscant were much much better than E1 of Mando S3
@@enriqueguang9843 I agree. I was mainly commenting about the shows as a whole, not Mando Episode 1 compared to season 2 of The Bad Batch as a whole
"No need for spoiler warnings" is a spoiler warning 🙂

I loved this episode in my opinion
That was such a boring 30 minutes. So tired of the style and the way they have Pedro Pascal act
