  • Today we take a look at the Black and Decker corded circular saw. This basic saw is affordable, makes straight and angled cuts, and has a laser guide. We show the details and do some basic tests to see how it performs.
    Black and Decker 13 Amp Corded Saw -- amzn.to/2IvdU8p
    Pros and Cons
    This circular saw was good at making straight and 45 degree cuts. It's laser guide was also accurate out of the box, although it can be easily adjusted with a screw driver. Blade replacement may help with performance. For around $45 it's a good saw for a DIYer or homeowner.
    I didn't like the plastic components and lack of safety trigger. It also doesn't have electronic brake. But what do you expect for this price point? If those things are important to you, my recommendation is to upgrade to a different saw.
    Overall this Black and Decker circular saw is solid. It's affordable, gets the job done for basic cuts, and an entry level option for a DIYer.

    I was skepticle of a 20 volt circular saw. But I have several B&D 20 volt batteries and the drill Works great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxjpBI8OOeUXib_iT7UomCrQ-uauwZJ62c . I saw the 4 stars and some glowing reviews so decided to purchase this saw. Well, leave your money in your pocket and run a cord because this little saw won't cut

      Well, that didn't go well. I just opened my saw and the bar where the blade goes was completely bent. I just requested a replacement and in the mean time I will see if I can figure out how to add the blades to my jigsaw. I guess I should open it first to check it.

    I just finally fried a previous model of this saw. I bought in 2008 and did a redwood deck , and many many home diy jobs. The day in July 2023 when the blade bolt inside stripped out, i had cut multiple seasoned 2" x 16 boards and several cement siding planks which was a mistake esp using the framing blade. It had a metal bladeguard and laser. This was a workhorse tool and the motor was still good. I m going to purchase the newer model while seeing if a tool repair shop can replace the stripped blade bolt on my original saw, as i love it so! As a female do it yourselfer, this saw was not too heavy and safe enough for the brave enough and not too stupid operator. I wonder why Dewalt doesnt make a comp saw with laser. Cant find one so sticking with B and D model.

    Safety trigger is a pain in the ass. No electric brake means it`s not fighting the brake at start up and during usage. 13 amp motor. These are all good things for $40.00

      I saw this model on display in a store. What really turned me off was the blade guard handle. Not because it's plastic but because it's cheap _transparant_ plastic which is the weakest kind! Other than that everything else it fine. I don't know what they wiere thinking with that one.

    • @dshillibier
      @dshillibier Год назад

      @@craighenson1682 not really, replaced it like for like and was the same. In the end I set it as far would go then put pressure to ease the plate closer too 90. Think just won't use it for cuts that need to be precise.

    18T is way too rough for a 7 1/4 blade. Even 24T is rough unless you're using it to build pallets or something. You need 40T to make smooth cuts.

      No. 18-24 tooth blades are better for freehand cuts. Finish blades work best when the saw and workpiece are both clamped....

    This tool is worthless. The blade does not have space for heat expansion, as soon as the blade heat up, the cut will be non straight. You need to spend 50 bucks on the tool and another 15 bucks on a new blade. Total of 65 dollars. You are better off buying a makita and those cut flawlessly.
