'PA PA YA' is a summer festival song - and they're going hard singing and dancing about a spicy Thai papaya fruit salad (you didn't need to try to translate it from Japanese😁).🥝🥗
Such a good live song, it really gets the whole crowd jumping and waving towels round their heads (Su, Moa and Momoko love to see everybody doing that and we love to see them happy, so everybody brings or buys a towel specially for this song).
F Hero is a rapper from Thailand. He flew in to Japan specially to perform on the first two nights of the 2019 tour in Yokohama (that was where this video was filmed, Momoko became an official member last April, the third girl in this was the Avenger Kano, this was her first show with BABYMETAL ... she was only 14).
They performed in Bangkok in Thailand as part of their world tour last year and F Hero made another special guest appearance (that was also when he asked them to collaborate on his song 'Leave It All Behind' with Thai rock band Bodyslam - that was released just a few days ago).
F Hero was rapping in this song to the same rhythm as mixing the ingredients for the salad with a mortar and pestle.
They are pretty much saying that, much like the salad, mixing the right spices in the right amounts into life will make that better too.🦊🤘
Oh yes - Su or Su-metal, Moa or Moametal and Momoko or Momometal ... Moa is pronounced Mo-ah - Mao is a member of a Chinese cover band perhaps?

    _Matsuri da!_ 🦊🤘🍠
Welcome back to the Foxhole and glad to see you around with this suggestion.
You're jumping into Metal Galaxy 2019 album.
Last year fans at Bangkok had a blast with this song live with F.Hero as a special guest for the third time performing together after this 2019 live version in Japan, but everyone were enjoying this in every concert, is a hit they don't wanna miss in any of their setlist. They recently did another new collab along with Bodyslam, a top notch Thai rock band, called "Leave It All Behind", another banger you don't wanna miss.
F.Hero is a top Thai rapper artist and he's singing/rapping in Thai language, the title is in reference to the papaya fruit used as an ingredient in a popular Thai salad.
It's a fun song to represent and celebrate the mix between these two great cultures, and fans of all generations enjoyed at the recent World Tour 2023, as well last weekend at Legend 43 in Okinawa for the first time and a couple of weeks ago at Legend MM in Yokohama celebrating MomoMetal 21 birthday.🍑❤
If you want another rare live performance with Latin rhythm vibes you got "Night Night Burn" live at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020, or with Indian influence like "Shanti Shanti Shanti" official MV, better yet if you look for "folky" vibes then you got "Oh! MAJINAI" ft. Joakim Brodem live at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020 or Budokan 2021.
This song belongs to 3rd album "Metal Galaxy" released in 2019 but this one as well many more songs are exploring a different Babymetal side, sometimes more mature, but trying to not lose their fun. It belongs to the Light Side disc of that album.
The footage of this was took from BABYMETAL AWAKENS: The Sun Also Rises 2019 in Yokohama Arena, Japan, F.Hero was invited for this, the night before he was really in panic with the amount of people and even throwing all out after the show, It ain't easy to face that crowd, especially after receiving some negative critics from BM fans who didn't like his participation on this, luckily he recover from this and received a warming welcome. Also that night they introduced the _avengers_ system, a group of three backup dancers filling the third spot that YuiMetal left (she left the group in 2018). They rotate so not always you'll see the same one on stage, usually the live official MV before 2020 is with Kano Fujihira, she started this when having 14 years old, so young like our girls back in their early days. None of them had mic or sing and aren't official members, they just dance. But remember that status recently changed in April when one of them, MomoMetal, became a new official member, but again the one you saw in this official live MV is Kano-chan.
This official MV got studio album sound unlike this version with live sound but compilation footage from different shows.
    Next suggestion:
    - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official MV.
    See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

    ⚡ 💕 / 🌶 🌞
The supporting dancer situation gets a little complicated.
As noted, the original members were Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto), Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi, pronounced "Moh-ah").
Yuimetal officially left the group in October 2018 because of ongoing health issues.
She had not been on stage with BABYMETAL for a year before that.
Before settling in with three rotating support dancers (2019-2023), they tried a few different combinations.
'LEGEND S' December 2017 (Hiroshima, Japan) - Su and Moa alone. Yui was expected to perform, but was unable to.
US/Europe Tour May-June 2018 - Minako Maruyama and Minami Tsukui. (Known to fans as "Muscle-Metal", since they were both very fit).
Japan October 2018 - The Chosen Seven- Minako Maruyama, Minami Tsukui, Shōko Akiyama, Saya Hirai and Kotono Ōmori (plus Su and Moa).
    December 2018 - Singapore/Australia - Saya Hirai
Japan/UK/Taiwan/USA/Europe 2019 - 2023 - The Avengers - Usually one support dancer for each show, selected from: Riho Sayashi, Kano Fujihira and Momoko Okazaki.
In April of 2023, Momoko was "promoted" to Momometal, an official BABYMETAL member.
The footage from this video has Kano Fujihira.
Like Su and Moa before her, Kano was Sakura Gakuin President during her senior year with that group.
She's now one of the four members of the J-Pop group @onefive.

OK, I have to say it. How do so many people get MA-Oh from Moa?? It's Mo-Ah. OK, I got that off my chest. 😅
Very nice reaction and analysis. Even their shows at small venues, minus the pyro and stages, are an absolute treat to watch live. Even for a lazy sedentary person like me its impossible not to jump around like an idiot at their shows. Those shows in Japan must be mind blowing.

Moa's name is pronounced like Moe-uh, or Moe-ah...similar to the movie "Moana" without the "na". Moa's name is OFTEN pronounced incorrectly, so don't feel bad! Also, in this video Moa is to Su's right hand or on the left side of the video. Moa has dimples and Yui (who is not in this video) has cute chubbier cheeks. In this video, Momo is NOT the "Avenger" dancing in Yui's spot. 🤘🦊🤘

Yeah, there's no such thing as overkill when Babymetal puts on one of their Japan mega shows... 2 story stage with coffin shaped runways, check.... floating platform that flies above the crowd in a stadium, check... You should checkout In The Name Of from Legend S Baptism XX concert if you want to see Babymetal going nutz on stagecraft. 😁😁😁😁🤘🦊🤘

First off, so glad you reacted to the live performance. Great choice. This is definitely my fav reaction of yours to Babymetal. Excellent comments, spaced well. Genuine enthusiasm. Just a great observant reaction all the way through. Loved that you commented on the consistency of their performances. It's one of the reasons I don't personally mind when a reactor does a compilation video. You get to see several different performances and yeah, every single one is over the top great. Really nice job on this one.

    👍 👍
    Congratulations.
You are one of the only (if not the only) reactors in the last 7 or more Pa Pa Ya reactions to actually use a LIVE version of this song.
Almost everyone reacts to official MV's which sadly has studio audio over LIVE footage, does not have actual Kami Band instrumentals or crowd noise.
HQ pro shots are the way to go because they have all of those qualities that MV's lack.
And Suzuka, the girls and the Kami's always sound better LIVE.
    Until next time.

  • @Ganimal83

Awesome! This song is, in fact, about Papaya. Specifically comparing a spicy papaya salad that brings all the people together to a spicy summer festival that does the same. Strong SE Asian influences, as F.Hero is Thai.
Additional notes to help you with typical Babymetal confusion:
    Moa is pronounced “Mo-ah”.
This performance is with Kano Fujihira in 3rd spot, during the “avenger” era. See below.
    Timeline:
*2010:* Formation with Su, Moa, and Yui (You-ee).
*2017 Q4:* Yui stops performing due to health.
*2018:* Su & Moa joined by 2, then 5 backup dancers. Yui leaves in Q4.
*2019:* Babymetal continues as Su & Moa. They are joined by “the avengers”, 3 backup dancers (no mic), who rotates into 3rd spot. One of them is Momoko.
*2023:* Momoko made official 3rd member at end of Day 1 (Black Night) of “Babymetal Begins” concert (Apr 1st). Afterwards, she has a mic as well.
    How to tell them apart:
Moa has dimples, and a headset mic. Yui has chubby cheeks. She shows up in earlier performances before 2017. All other backup dancers have no mics. Momoko was only “backup dancer” from 2021 and onwards until she became official with a mic.
    Hope that helps!
    🤘🦊

This is right. The song is about a Spicy Papaya sakad.. At that time Momo didn't exist but they had one of the first avengers on stage. No they have their crawler in place. It carries the light and smoke technique on board. No they were taught to usecstage persona. And she was responsible zo protect her sisters.. I wouldn't advise to provoke her
