It must be great to experience night again. I love civil twilight the most. Measure out the length of your shadow in shoe lengths when the sun shines at midday. Then try it again in Svalbard. You'll see a big difference. Meanwhile, have a lovely stay in south Portugal !

I just realized why Svalbard feels very alien, eerie sometimes: it’s the silence, no sound of birds, it’s all so quiet, especially during the polar nights.
The absence of trees makes it very dramatic.

@@julieinak Apparently there are (one species is all year round) but either they don’t hang out around the cabins and village or they’re very quiet.☺️
No, the real reason why Svalbard feels very alien and eerie is because cats are not allowed to live there. No cats = no joy.

When you're talking about how amazing the weather is at 68° . . . I'm in South Central Texas, and it was 100° yesterday, and Summer hasn't even begun. 68° would be ideal. Portugal is stunning. I can just feel the crisp air and sunshine on my skin. Mom and Dad's house is rockin'. ❤

I observed some harsh comments about Cecilia's videos filmed in Portugal, and I didn't like it. In Sweden🇸🇪, we see things differently than in many other countries, and I felt the need to provide clarification when there are a few who mention how she and her parents are "rich". Nobody becomes wealthy overnight, right? Obviously, achieving success for her and her parents was not easy; it required hard work and perseverance. Behind every glimpse of happiness lies a story of toil and sacrifice. It's important to remember these efforts and show respect for them. Thank you, Cecilia, for reminding us of the value of hard work and dedication. This is the kind of comment I hope to see in the future. Behind every one of Cecilia's videos is a lot of hard work, but those who are not creators may not have a clue about it.
Completely agree. Middle or upper middle class maybe, but so what? If she had a life of that upbringing, how happy for her, or if her parents struggled to make that life, how happy for her. Those who bemoan another’s lot in life are miserable people anyway, they get no joy from others not being in a mess as they are, nor pleasure from seeing others enjoying life. Makes you wonder why they watch tbh.

You need a wardrobe in your cabin in Svalbard that you can step through to your parent's house. One day in the glorious Arctic, the next day in glorious Portugal. Fantastic!

I got thinking during the drone shots in this video, "Wow, a very large chunk of people have really nice coordinating yellow lights right outside of their property. And look, they just light up the front of their homes & not the back too." Than, i realized that they in fact are just good old everyday streetlights! 😂😂😂😂 Gee, they look different from above. 😂
That type of lighting is easier on night vision and less light polluting to the night sky.

Portugal is my second home, my family owns a villa near portimao and I absolutely love love going there, this made me miss it a lot, haven’t been back since 2019 - been there 15 times.

We just left Luz, Portugal and are in Spain for a couple of days then we head back to Burgau! We absolutely LOVE Portugal and are considering moving to the Algarve.

The moon can become dark red when it is in earth shadow and the atmosphere bends sunlight onto it. This is known as blood moon. The atmosphere filters out blue light more. (like we are used to during sunrise & sunset)
This bright orange version looks like the moon was in the partial shadow.
Fun Fact: The moon in the sky is pretty much the same size all of the time. But, if it is closer to the horizon, so you have a better perspective than in the middle of the sky, it will appear bigger. Essentially, it is an optical illusion. Love the videos, I watch every week!
