about 3k , its doing fine thanks, recently had a rebuild due to a crappy crank but it looks pretty much like it does in the video mainly because I hardly use it and I look after it
Thanks very much! Will do, planning to take it off road soon and store it. I don't use it and selling it would be pointless. Quick restore and it should be a nice shelf ornament for a few years
Very kind of you,i just offered more as a token of appreciation,as I have no leads as to where to get the cover. I though of buying an YZ or some other, but there's a big chance it would come out short since DT has a biiiiiiig seat.
well done mate nice bike thinking of getting the newer model dtr(2006) myself and this is just made me want it even more wicked custome job mate powder coated tank and fram is a mint touch
The way it looked at the start (standard) I have that exact bike, same year but in green and black, could never do something like this to it, for that money you may as well buy a new bike ^^ but I must say the final piece looks amazing
Sick bike fella very nice work you did right there !! I'm looking to get get a new-ish dt125r sm very soon ! I been saving for quite a while now .. CANT WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON ONE ;D
For everyone asking about the rear fender and all plastics, check the link in the description and look at the sellers items, he still does them just find your colour
I got the seat cover from a car upholstery shop, usually at the back of some industrial estate. Try places like that before spending loads in a shop. It cost me £15 fir enough material to do at least 4 seats
The seat is some kind of rubber, id be lying if I said I knew exactly what type of material it was. The spokes I got from Hagon wheels and they came to £122 as they were stainless steel, 4 yeras on and still no sign of rust or corrosion. You can powdercoat it, it was more a warning that it will cost a bit to put it back together (bearing etc that only Yamaha make)
Yeah man you bolt the bottom adaptor to the yoke, then the top adaptor over the bars. When you order them make sure they have the correct size for your bike
@HaztaUK I have on my bike. I've got USD's on my bike with rs125 wheels on. But seiki's used the wheels that come off the yamaha dt125x. So as long as he's got the spacers for it it all fits. It's the easiest supermoto conversion you can do. Ranging to probably almos anything. So long as you know what you're doing.
My DT does about 120 miles to the tank. Cost about £15 to fill the tank nowadays. Was a tenner when I first got it. It is a two stroke so it's going to be a little bit more to run but £15 a week is nothing.
Got ya. I cant get the bearings or collars out on my swingarm anyway and i destroyed the oil seals on removal.Ordered new seals but everything else can stay in there.
No mate I sold this bike maybe a year ago now, I stopped using it after a while and the choice was bring it back inside and store it or get rid of it. I didn't have the space so got rid of it
Swingarm is powdercoated, I was just saying it costs more by doing that cause you have to replace all the bearings, which in the long run is good though. No point in powdercaoting the shock tbh. Engine is better left alone as it gets hot and dirty too easily. Good luck with the build
THanks,I have like a million questions for you,I need to rebuild my DT as well,so next one. Where did you get the non slip (gripper seat) for it? I can only find the YZ,KX ETC ones,I don't know if they would be big enough
The plastics are called HPires, I just looked on ebay and can't find them anymore. The YZ plastic will need modding to fit the DT, it won't fit straight on. I made the seat myself, its pretty easy
I got t from a local car upholstery place. You usually find them in the back of Industrial Estates. I just used shit loads of staples but you can use glue too
That a amazing transformation. Iv got the same model dtr that has been converted to a supermoto , where do you get those fork sleeve things to replace the gator ? As they look a lot tidier
Thanks for the link.Much appreciated. I see that you switched out the rims to super moto type and respoked the original trail type hubs. Where did you get the rims? Are they from the dt125x sm?
Yeah I meant it more in a warning way, as in cost me unexpectedly to replace bearing etc. It's more of a think hard if you want it done because it costs more than you think
is it a special name for those plastic, front, side, rear fenders? can't find them at ebay. can i take some from a yamaha yz 450 and place it on the dt? the seat, did you made it yourself or came it along? your bike looks so cool, i want to do it myself like yours :P
@SeppJuice handlebar is renthal fatbars man. Theres 2 sets in the vid, the first one is the Carmichael or whatever version. The second is just straight fatbars.
Just because it costs quite a bit replacing parts you have toy remove from inside. Bearings, collars, bushes. If you can get them out in tact that's cool but the bearings will at least need to change. It would have been cheaper to rattle can it lol
@Mugensieki cheers man for some reason i couldn't get the other sites to work!! but this one does!! Will have a look through and see if i can find it all :) cheers for the info
what did u use to thinning down the back of the seat??? i tryed it and runined my seat, gettin another seat so don't want to mess it up a second time?? thanks
very nice job lovely bike, ive got 3 x kmx200s rebuilt 1 of them not quite to your standard, 1st rebuild, id love to fit fat bars to it, in your video where you fit the bars, it looks like the fat bar clamps, bolt on top of standard bottom handbar clamps, if you can follow that, cheers kmx|Gary
Hi man, when i had seen this video i said only one think "fu*k"... you are amazing and this is pretty nice bike... I own one if this wonderfullmachine and i want to rebuild it too... so you gave me inspirations for that, thank you for this video
Very good job guy!! congratultion ;)
Video 6 years old and im still amazed with what you've done!
+Pizdzirynka1 damn only feels like 3, still on same tyres lol
best project ever seen !
Ghaith Briki garage
about 3k , its doing fine thanks, recently had a rebuild due to a crappy crank but it looks pretty much like it does in the video mainly because I hardly use it and I look after it
That is one beautiful restoration job, congrats :) Keep those old two-strokes alive - the world will thank you one day ! Loved the music BTW :D
Thanks very much! Will do, planning to take it off road soon and store it. I don't use it and selling it would be pointless. Quick restore and it should be a nice shelf ornament for a few years
MugensiekiYes please continue the dt story
Mugensieki I'd ride the wheels off it and keep it looking and feeling good, but hey I understand your choice - and a fine ornament it is :)
@@Thabronx_965 how long did it take to restore it? How many hours?
Nice job man! The most beautiful dt125r!
WOW ! Amazing job ! Your project is a best in the world 😉! Congratulations from France .
The best tuning story of a Yamaha dt I had ever see nice bike ! :)
Amazing work bro !
You have to use the DTX forks with them so you can fit the big brake conversion. Easy to do once you get the parts. The swingarm doesn't need changing
Bro i can say u a very good enginer and video sound maker too, u great follow your instintc, peace.
+Miguel Machado thank you
Very kind of you,i just offered more as a token of appreciation,as I have no leads as to where to get the cover.
I though of buying an YZ or some other, but there's a big chance it would come out short since DT has a biiiiiiig seat.
this is just beautifull. have a dt 125 from 99 myself. and am converting it to a supermoto. congrats man. awesome vid
bootsmanaa btw . what did you do with the engine? thnks
bootsmanaa Thanks a lot, the engine was rebuilt a couple times and is currently in the bike, same one from 88 but with a few new bits inside.
That is the coolest dt125r I have ever seen! Great Job!
This bike is a dream , absolutely AMAZING, YOU ARE A GOD ! xD
Been there before mate when i did my supermoto. You done a lovely job there pal nice work fella.
wow thats great, did you need wider forks for the super moto tyres ? or did they fit with the standard forks?
fantastically done unbelievable attention and care well done
well done mate nice bike thinking of getting the newer model dtr(2006) myself and this is just made me want it even more wicked custome job mate powder coated tank and fram is a mint touch
Very nice job indeed. Looks gorgeous!
You gave that bike a new life. Amazing job !!

I cant believe that this guy still responds even after 10 years.
It's an old channel I dont use now, my son uses it but every once in a while I check in
Love it! Nicest DT i have saw by far
Simplesmente fantástico. Parabéns ao projeto.
Pretty awesome job i have to say.. Im shocked on how good it looks!!!
You did a fantastic job with that bike.

Im not going to lie, you got skills and good taste bro that bike looks fucking sick!
Well done
Nice machine mate well done
I remember this on BCF! Can't believe it was nine years ago! It was an awesome project I wonder if it's still going?
No mate I sold this bike maybe a year ago now, I stopped using it after a while and the choice was bring it back inside and store it or get rid of it. I didn't have the space so got rid of it
BenTV
yea i know it does need some work like the shift lever sticks and the carb defiantly needs a cleaning but she runs good
Swingarm is powdercoated, I was just saying it costs more by doing that cause you have to replace all the bearings, which in the long run is good though. No point in powdercaoting the shock tbh. Engine is better left alone as it gets hot and dirty too easily. Good luck with the build
Yeah they are shorter but not that much, they only drop the front which actually helps the rear look a lot higher.
THanks,I have like a million questions for you,I need to rebuild my DT as well,so next one.
Where did you get the non slip (gripper seat) for it?
I can only find the YZ,KX ETC ones,I don't know if they would be big enough
did a good job of that mate well done
The plastics are called HPires, I just looked on ebay and can't find them anymore. The YZ plastic will need modding to fit the DT, it won't fit straight on. I made the seat myself, its pretty easy
That's will always be 1 sick tool !!
very nice, i only hate that it's completly white , but it's your bike :D, and i really love the rims :D
I got t from a local car upholstery place. You usually find them in the back of Industrial Estates. I just used shit loads of staples but you can use glue too
One more question. Ive taken off the swingarm from my 2007 dt125re today. Its got a few rust areas. Why do you not advise to powdercoat the swingarm?
Best dtr I've ever seen

I had/have paperwork just fine, it only becomes tricky when dealing with insurance
that is NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!, maybe a few vids of it ripping around?
best looking DT 125 R i have ever seen :)
Good job :P
Bow! Really perfect.. True motorcycle love. :)
Yeah I meant it more in a warning way, as in cost me unexpectedly to replace bearing etc. It's more of a think hard if you want it done because it costs more than you think
Very nice DT and video too.
I see you're still talking, now it's 2024, I'm watching this video and I'm wondering where you got the rear fender, what engine model is it from
tres beau dt je l'adore
du tres bon travail
How much do you have sold for all ?:D i want that to:D
Totaly awesome mate well done ;)
Lovely dt! But I think if you kept the original light , and got a dt sticker set , it would be a lot nicer I think.
Also did you cut those side panels down ? Or did you buy them like that ?
Nice. What model rims are those? Do you know where to buy a new ring of plastics?
@aL3410 wheels are from a DTX125 an, good luck with the build !
is it a special name for those plastic, front, side, rear fenders? can't find them at ebay. can i take some from a yamaha yz 450 and place it on the dt? the seat, did you made it yourself or came it along? your bike looks so cool, i want to do it myself like yours :P

Great Job mate!
What was the ASV Lever supposed to fit? Is it just a YZ one?, Going for the gold lever myself!
CRAZY restore! really good job man :)
wow! awesome job. I have the same bike, but I don't know what to do with it. I'm sure you spent a lot with that bike.
sick end result man
Sehr sehr gail weworden. Gratulation
Oh my god! its looks amazing, for fuck sake!! I have a DT myself, and i love to ride it, it been done alot on it but this was just amazing :)
Just because it costs quite a bit replacing parts you have toy remove from inside. Bearings, collars, bushes. If you can get them out in tact that's cool but the bearings will at least need to change. It would have been cheaper to rattle can it lol
thank you
Yeah just the standard Haynes manual I used for reference. The most important thing was taking pictures so I knew where everything went
Holy shit dude. You have awesome bike!
@Mugensieki cheers man for some reason i couldn't get the other sites to work!! but this one does!! Will have a look through and see if i can find it all :) cheers for the info

Mine is in an awful state.
Sick bike man dosent look like a dt ha I'm thinking of doing my 96 dtr turning it into an SM was wondering were you got them wheels from?
