I just won with him for the first time after trying multiple times (against prince John and maleficent) and I did so by using the trap! I made sure the balloon hero card and sabotage were discarded, and if basil is at the same location there is almost nothing he can do to break the trap without those cards. It’s so useful for saving on power as well- used it to defeat Toby earlier as well
Hey! Love your videos, especially on the Villainous series! 3 things from me - 1. Ratigan is super fun and unique compared to the others (great design). The only thing that would make him perfect IMO is if he had another activate spot somewhere else in the realm. 2. That said, the Ruffians > Activate opened my eyes to some new stuff! I honestly would only play Ruff to a spot for either 2/3 power or a play action if I had a lot of cards to play. Thanks for that! 3. I would always play to the 2nd goal just in case. Every single game of Ratigan I would play, my opponent (very competent player) would never get rid of Robot Queen and instead get rid of Airship or Tools to slow my game down. Side note, I'm gonna try the discard actions more to get RbQ earlier rather than playing/holding what I have to combat what comes out of the fates. Thanks again for the videos!

Your videos are INVALUABLE to helping us learn and master each of these characters. Again, thank you so much for you videos and great documentation.
Ratigan is such a fun villain because of all the gadgets he has access to. But the best part is that unlike other villains, when he's about to win, you can't really stop it. Once the queen is out, it's game over in a few turns meaning you have to fate him in the midgame when his items are just hitting the board.

Lord of the Board I believe that you are running out of villains, so put your strategy guides in practice, show some game plays, and comment them, show tactics, and card combos in real game play. You have many options to expand your guides, that’s my advice ;)
I love your videos man. My wife, best friend and I have watched all of your videos covering Villainous. One thing I know would help us out a lot, is if you could post videos covering how to counter every villain. Like you post "How to win" vids on all these Villains. It'd be great to see "How to fuck over anyone playing as ____" lol For instance, I won game night as Ratigan last night. But no one knew any good strats to keep fucking me over. (Thank God lol) and one question I have is, what if they play the Mouse Queen but stop fating me after that? How am I suppose to defeat Basil if no one fates me after the Mouse Queen is played? Lol
glad you are enjoying! and appreciate the comment! I have been asked that a lot. It would be another long series. but i am concidering splitting up the villains into groups. About the Mouse Questions i believe there are ways to force basil out with others fates.
The mouse queen fate you can just defeat with heroes and/or items. The only way for them to get rid of the robot queen to make you the rat is with Basil so he’ll be on the board when you flip.

With Frollo, Lady Tremaine, Shere Khan, Madame Mim, Gaston and The Horned King.

(Hades, etc.) The 2nd in July So the 3rd one doesn't even have an XD date By cons I am mega happy because at the Cannes board game festival it was announced "Villainous MARVEL: The infinite Power" 3 villains out of 5 known so far (Thanos, Hela and Ultron) Note: this is not an extension
David Gutierrez yeah it truly is a great card. I personally don’t find myself using it that much as I find my group discards it real quickly 😂 but I love hearing other strategies
@@LordoftheBoard I find it very useful as well, when I already have the robot queen down or more than enough power to play it, I start putting down traps, then I activate them when needed
The only problem I have with it over just using Felicia is it takes a turn to remove basil as opposed to just playing Felicia. Cause you activate it and then at the start of next turn it actually removes. I can see using them in addition, but I usually am able to just use Felicia.
It just means you will have to fish him out of the fate discard. So try and position basil while getting the Queen to Buckinham. that way you are ready either way.
Thx it was my first time playing but I looked at the card in my hand and saw it I went from the toy shop to Buckingham palace and discarded cards until I found the robot queen the I was lucky to have fidget capture and the robot queen
Hi Sam! I am loving this game every single time I play! :D Just have a general question for any Villain you are playing as: when you have a play a card action, and you have a Condition card, does playing that card count towards that action, or can you play that condition card and one more card?
Condition cards can’t be played during your turn but must be played during another players turn. So it doesn’t need a play a card action. Just the conditions on it must be met for you to use the ability :)
If Ruffians are played to a location other than Ratigan's, you may perform one available action at their location. You cannot use Ruffians to perform Fate actions. That means you can activate their effect once a turn?
I have a question about Uniform. I put Uniform on Ruffians.Can i use other allies with that Ruffians to perform the Uniform's Vanquish action?sorry my bad eng :(

Wait, are you saying that if you play Ruffians at the secret lair you’re able to use the “activate” symbol every turn that Ratigan is not at the secret lair? Or are you saying that you have the ability to play Ruffians to the secret lair every turn in order to use the activate symbol? Your wording makes it seem like you can use Activate every turn once the card is played there, but the wording on the card says one action can be used when the card is first played.

I know marvelous trap is a little bit of a risk-reward, but should I play it if I have it in my hand and activate it to kill Basil instantly if the Queen gets discarded and I don't have the allies to kill Basil at his location?
I find that one to be situational. I don't use it most of the time because 3 power for an item I have to pay 1 power to activate to maybe use once doesn't seem worth it. I really only use it when I don't have Felicia or the bell and I need to get rid of either Basil or the queen. Since I need a lot of power to play the queen, airship, activate the airship, and Felicia, it doesn't often get used. But it is incredibly strong if a bit situational

I used fidget then put the toy guy in captured him played robot queen and then used airship all in three turns

Only one objective to win. But if the robot queen is removed from the board then your objective changes to defeating basil :)

Not every turn. Just that one turn you can use an activate action back to back.
