I have a players edition double cutaway white falcon (the exact same as this but in white) from 2014. It’s always been my fav guitar since I got it in 2018. The binding however is awful for such an expensive guitar. They must’ve used a different poly/process to coat the sparkle binding and it peels on the neck so when I slide my hand it peels right off which is so frustrating.
i have a Gretsch Black Phoenix, I love it but I might have to put some tape over the sparkle binding on the neck because it can blind you with stage lights reflecting into you face
I've got this same guitar. Do you think I should put in some tv jones classics? I play praise and worship primarily with it and I'm wondering what the TV Jones Classics would do to the tone
I think you'd notice a a difference with them, absolutely! I find that they're slightly more clear and pronounced but it's not a massive difference. The High Fidelity pups from Gretsch are their attempt at that Classic Gretsch sound similar to the TV Jones
Had the panther, sold it for the Silver Falcon. Panther is definitely more understated in styling which many might appreciated, but the Falcon is construction was several notches higher.
Sorry if I was unclear; I did swap out the bridge but I do not have to send this guitar back. I ended up purchasing it from zZounds after the borrow period
I had a starplayer for years. Finally sold it a few weeks ago. It's a great guitar. It's a fantastic guitar actually. I didn't love the middle position. It was also pretty heavy. The neck pickup was not great. The bridge was. Hated the glossy neck. Really confirmed for me that glossy necks will never be my thing.
Been borrowing one for months (what a good friend!!) and it's one of my favorite guitars I've ever played.
This guitar very much seems like the type of guitar that would compliment your playing style Sooze!
Avenge eightfold 😂
i'm on the fence about this or a double cut broadkaster
@@Walkerbjj I like the broadcasters a lot too!!
Amo la parte en donde tocas metal con la Gretsch, todo mundo debería hacer eso en los videos con las Gretsch, más contenido así por favor! 🙏
This guitar is like having an all black 78 trans am, it’s mesmerizing to see the curves in black
The “attempt at metal” sounded really awesome dude
Thank you!
lol we love old As I Lay Dying
Absolutely but some of their new stuff slaps too

Great sound samples but those typing sounds are brutal through headphones.
Thanks for letting me know! Too shrill?
@ZachBrobstMusic it's pretty strident. 🙂
I am holding out for a Penguin or Panther.
I want to try a Penguin as well!

@@jeffwatson7811 good to know.
@@jeffwatson7811 good to know...thanks for that
Wait you replaced the bridge on a guitar you're demo'ing and have to give back?

@ gotcha!
these are made in Japan, right?
@@MrTimcoronel yes they are!
I have a white falcon, but I'm selling it. I'm going for a duesenberg star player tv instead. I'm just not a fan of them.

the neck pickup tones are amazing on those (shocked the other commenter said the opposite)....i've owned several....they feel and sound great
