We played this for my all county wind ensemble, it's one of my favorite pieces ive ever played on F Horn. Copley has a way of making me feel emotion unlike any other composer. This song is so tense yet there is this tragic feeling of hope in it as well, its like someone is fighting until their very last breath. During our performance the flute solo near the middle almost made me tear up. Backlash is very underrated. It needs more attention!!!!!!
Got the privilege of playing this piece for the man himself last weekend! I thought it went pretty well for the band only having like two days or less of practice, I was even able to get him to sign my sheet music right before the concert!
Katahj Copley knows what he is doing always this music piece is like one of the many music pieces that I feel the feeling of backlash it’s so perfect he makes everything sound so good. His music pieces need a lot more attention though. Because all of them are perfect!
