To be frank, believing (5:48) that our children can achieve a certain goal is what leads parents to push their children to work harder or join a course, a class or a stream. Not every modern day child today is willing to or is able to put in the "hard work and hours" that the preparation of conventional and tough entrance exams like JEE and NEET and now the CUET demand. Yet these children feel left out when they fail to make the grade or if they succeed in making the cut, then too they often wonder if this is what they wanted. I am not at all sure that the higher education and professional space is generous enough to accomodate such vacillations without a significant physical, mental, emotional and financial cost being borne by the vacillator and their parents. Getting their children to prepare for higher education in this highly competitive world and country in particular takes a heavy toll in more ways than one, on parents too. We are told right from the day the child is born to let him/her grow naturally at his/her pace, discover his/her passions etc and then suddenly on reaching high school we are bombarded with information to buy this reference material, that course book or question papers, join this class or that course to help our child ace XYZ entrance exam and ABC should be the number of hours a student preparing for competitive exams must put in. The description box of this video itself advises students to put in 4-5 hours AFTER a 7 hour school + commute to ace competitive exams. Mind boggling indeed!
Hi, I'm writing my A levels next year and would like to write NEET. What are the qualifications for NEET? Is AS Level English required? I have not taken English after IGCSE.
Hi sir my son wants to make his career in medicals which board is better IGCSE or CBSE please suggest....even if he goes in IGCSE will it be tough for him to clear medical entrance exam
With your talk it sounds that CBSE is tougher than IGCSE? My son is currently studying in CBSE and am actually considering IGCSE... what do you recommend?
Hello sir, My daughter is studying on the IGCSE board in 7th grade. Will she be eligible to appear for the NEET and IIT exams? For this reason, I joined her Allen online classes. Please advise.
I came here searching how to shift from cbse to IGCSE and found this 😂 Now almost all Indian parents want their child to get into IIT but the truth is it’s damn tough. So then instead of IIT what about those parents who wants to explore foreign universities for undergrad? Keeping the cost aside, shall I get my son into IGCSE from 9th std? Or shall I continue with cbse till 10th and then shift to IB for 11th & 12th? That’s the answer am looking for Any suggestions are welcome Thanks in advance
I would like to do A Levels and prep for JEE at the same time - starting next yr. (Am an A/A* student.) Is that hard? I do not want to move to CBSE or HSC. Are there minimum subject requirements to be able to apply for JEE - meaning should I be taking PCMB and English in ALevels?
A level is good from the concept point of view .. but you must get the hang of solving the JEE paper and its structure and time. which means the practice of past 20 yeas papers is very important you must solve on a daily basis 120 MCQs of Physics 100 MCQs of Chemistry 80 MCQs of Maths
Merit Store Thanks a lot for replying. 300 MCQs a day! That's 4 hrs approx? I will be writing my IGCSE exams in March 2018 and so will be starting AS level in 2018 which means I will have approx 20 months prep time for JEE. Does that 300 MCQs number still apply? How different are the syllabi of NCERT and A Level - wrt difficulty level/content? Does A level cover all the portions covered in NCERT? Will I find it difficult to manage school work and jee prep say if I go for jee coaching classes...planning to take PCMB - considering the practicals and such. please guide.

Hello Nethravathi, Give your daughter some time. It's just 1st grade so you should wait. You can also put her for writing classes for your satisfaction.
