Sully Erna's solo album is one of the greatest musical masterpieces I've heard in my 14 year long life.

When memories come back, it's overwhelming I dont want to forget one more past life love forgiving is no thing but never forget who we are. At our core being. We are rainbows in the dark babe... Thankful things did not happen like it could have happened. However I was creating a perfect world to ascend to for I am servent to none master of all. Sully I remember our past life together. The comments here are great. Sully is Pagan, which comes through very clearly in other songs on this album and the symbols in the art work. The great thing about Paganism is that one can believe in other faiths and practices, and integrate them into one's own practices so just because he is talking about Jesus doesn't mean he has changed his beliefs.
Tara Graves agreed. it is a symbolic metaphor... he is wise. there is a message important enough to him that he purposely choice to use an icon that is globally recognized and accepted. fucking a don't see the religion... see the belief and faith

There has been no decrease in all of that i just saw 5 homeless people yesterday! Just in a street asking for food and money... Violent crime has not gone down by far! There are shootings, Armed robbery's, Ect. Sexual assault as not gone down either if not gone up! We are in the end days my friend all of those struggles have been leading up to this! I might be wrong and I admit it! But i trust that God And Jesus Christ are real.

well i have got to admit that even though i am a big fan of godsmack i wasnt a fan of this cd the first time i heard it. but i got to say i had to give it a chance because of Sully.i gotta say the more i hear it and hear the lyrics it is a awesome cd
My teen age son lost a friend to leukemia today. Sully speaks how the whole community feels right now. Angry, sad, confused...this pain is like no other.

He started out as a drummer. As a matter of fact he plays drums on all of the songs on Godsmack's 1997 album All Wound Up..., except for "Whatever", which features Joe D'Arco. He also plays the harmonica in Godsmack's song Shine Down.

I have to say, i was expecting this album to be heavier given his Godsmack origin. But this is really awesome.
He clearly says "Light the flame; hands are turning away" It makes perfect sense.
Sully is just plain awesome person, with feelings and a big heart. Very talented as a musician, a person, and a love for the world. Check out FREEDOM TO ROCK...

Also Sully is a realist. His songs are geared towards the *norm* There are *most* who do not accept Wicca/Pagan as a religion because theY *THINK* it is devil worship when it is NOT. So he writes his songs for the Norm. Why? cause he loves music and not trying to throw religion into his music. I applaud him for it.
@lilcook67 I think he sees the value in music brought to the world from cultures like Native American and Wicca as well as being open minded. I don't think Sully is like a Satanist but rather just open to how other people life and express themselves through music rather than being closed minded. I'm Catholic for one but I totally admire his courage for this.

I'm a rocker and I'm also a Christian. Jesus/Yeshua is the best thing that ever happened to me. It's not about church. Church is cool depending on if it's one that will let you really worship, but it's really about simply knowing HIM. Church will let you down in certain ways if you let it. Jesus will never let you down.

@mattyshipM Don't worry, they have'nt broken up, sully just did a solo album but hes still with godsmack. It's a good thing too I would not be a happy camper if they did break up.
@tinachipp I have been a die hard Godsmack fan for years and have seen them live and Love their heavy rock/metal songs from Re-Align to Awake and everything else. But I love Sully's new ablum too. I haven't felt a completely pure acoustic vibe since they released "The Other Side". Sully seemed to just want to realize music that was more personal for him and I have total respect for him. He's my hero...

@chunks132 Not all of it. He does get most of the ideas, but when they were on tour writing their second album I believe, the entire band had phrases they put in. For the most part, it is a group effort....the way a band should be.

@bikergirl15 So true! It's partly why I don't really have religious beliefs. I suppose I'm Agnostic? I believe there's a possibility there are Gods and such, but not quite sure I believe in God, Jesus Christ and all that. I've went to church as I've grown up. I've went to church as an adult. I've messed with Wicca as a teen. I know there are supernatural forces out there. I also have learned that I can't tolerate going to church with people that are so closed-minded, naive and such hypocrites.

@Kiertiana To be fair most of that is probably just ignorance. If people are taught about religion at all Paganism is not included. It is considered blasphemous to the "major" faiths to pray to the old gods. They just don't care enough to learn the differences between something considered "evil" and beliefs that encouage the same basic principles that their's do. That is where the biggest flaw (imo) is in the major religions. They require only devotion, not a desire for further knowledge.
well i'm not arguing the existance of God or the writing of the bible. I'm talking about the meaning of God, and trascendation wich means if you feel okay with keeping your individuality or mind withouth believing in God its okay man. I have nothing against that. I keep my individuality and mind too and I believe in God. I see him like a wise father or something is my way to trascend and feel okay. and I don't see how it affects my individuality. may be it that faith had conflict with yours. ;)
