It's not even really the secondary though. Wiggins drops a coverage every now and then but the two main guys that are botching assignments are Marcus Williams and Trenton SImpson. That and the lack of pass rush pressure they're getting, it's clear they miss Queen and Clowney badly.
As a Ravens fan, what's frustrating about the defense is that there are glimpses, even stretches within games where they look competent, even good. In the first half, after the Ravens went 3 and out on their first drive, the Bengals went for it on 4th down and turned it over on downs. The Bengal's next 3 drives were 3 and out, 3 and out, and 3 and out. Then their 5th drive was the TD drive just before half. So that stretch kept the Ravens in it when the offense was struggling. In the second half, after the Bengals went up 21-7, their next 3 drives were fumble recovered by Roquan, punt, turnover on downs, and the Ravens were able to turn the deficit into a 28-21 lead. So they did well at times during the game but all anyone will remember, understandably, are Chase's first 2 TD catches and other WRs making wide open catches in the middle of the field.
As a Ravens fan, winning is good. But we cannot keep giving up on defense. We just aren't as good as we used to be on defense right now. And I'm not sure it can be fixed this season. Marcus Williams gotta go though. Dude got burned so many times.

This is how ravens won, I almost jynxed Baltimore by posting them on my story before the game, saying GO LAMAR MY FF QB🎉, when they were down 21-7 I was like wtf is goin on?! So I deleted that post off my ig story and bam, Lamar went from 9 ff points to 48😂
If Tylan Wallace was in Braveheart, he would throttle it right down their sideline too and he would've stiff-armed, to the ground, the guy with the painted face and put the Ravens up 6🏈
As a Raven's fan, I would be remiss to not mention the "fumble" by Cincy with the ball, driving, and a 14 pt lead. That play was Marlon Humphrey being more physical than the RB, ripping it away violently, and flipping momentum, in essence doing exactly what he did in the first matchup with his brilliant INT of Burrow while covering Chase; putting the Cincy offense on hold and allowing #8 to get rolling toward a brilliant 4th quarter comeback. Lamar in 4th: Perfect rating, just under 200 yds passing and 3 TDs. Say what you want about Bengals gifting us that win, but Lamar did his part brilliantly once again. Back to Marlon. He also stopped Baker in his tracks leading to our comeback with his 2 INTs to switch momentum. He has been one of about 6 players on defense who have made differences with pure effort, physicality and talent. But, oh yeah, that final Cincy drive leading up to 2 pt try was by far Marlon's WORST effort all year. But, 4 INTs, a forced fumble and top 5 in overall takeaways and top 10 in tackles for loss are not bad for an over-the-hill all pro guy.

love me an offensive shootout....if the ravens dont fix their defense issues they are going to have to score 40 points a game in the playoffs, they have time though
Ravens fan here: Yes we’re worried about Tucker. But we’re more concerned with our defensive regression. It seems like we promoted Zach Orr too soon. If our defense gets it’s ishh together we won’t have any need of a game winning 50+ yard kick.
I know the missed calls probably hurt for the Bengals but any player would tell you that you can't put yourself in a position for one call to decide the game in the first place. Our defense sucks, the Bengals defense sucks, it was bound to be a close one. If the Bengals ended up winning it then people would be talking about how the Iosivas 4th down conversion hit the ground instead.
I disagree with the two-point conversion at the end. We'd been "aggressive" in the play calling all game. Cost us 3-points early on by not going for a field goal in Evan's range. Throwing two bombs on 3rd and 2 and 4th and 2. At some point you should do the safe thing. I'd take the odds over the coin toss over the odds of a single play in goal-to-go (which we struggled against all game; it took a pass interference on a Failed 4th down play to give us an extra shot at a TD earlier). I like being aggressive, but not Every time the "aggressive vs. safe" situations arise.
the choice to go for 2 was correct, but the execution seemed bad. Once they didn't jump and Cincy had to burn the TO, you can't come back out and try it (at least not with that basic/obvious a play) That said, the 2 no-calls on that conversion were ATROCIOUS.
As a Ravens fan, the Bengals were playing aggressively all game, they made the right decision to go for 2. We got lucky….Burrow and Chase are a major problem.
The Bengals were carried that whole drive by the refs. Gesiki flopped. No call on the hold on Van Noy. The only ground to complain is the hands to Burrows' face mask, and acting like that changed anything is bush league.
What you're saying but not saying is this was a high-scoring game because defenses was abysmal. So the offense wasn't really tested but just let run loose.
Originally the Eagles pick. We weren't coming off Wentz at that point. And I really do like Jalen. But I never stop going through that sliding doors scenario where the Birds picked him. I didn't see 3 mvps before 30 but i thought he was going to be great.
@@anthonyanderson9303 Likely twice - once in the last 30 seconds, and then probably again in OT. With 2-point conversion only would have to stop them once. And the 2-point conversion rate is down this year but it's usually around 47%.
@anthonyanderson9303 Just putting the numbers out there. Neither defense was stopping either offense and both teams had the same chance of winning the OT flip... 50% ..51% and 41% are still better odds than 30% in my book.

This is how ravens won, I almost jynxed Baltimore by posting them on my story before the game, saying GO LAMAR MY FF QB🎉, when they were down 21-7 I was like wtf is goin on?! So I deleted that post off my ig story and bam, Lamar went from 9 ff points to 48😂
Until the stealers get it together this the new AFC rivalry. Not the knock down drag out fight of yesterday but a shootout. Love it!
If Tylan Wallace was in Braveheart, he would throttle it right down their sideline too and he would've stiff-armed, to the ground, the guy with the painted face and put the Ravens up 6🏈
Likin’ that Munich set there, Rich!
POLL QUESTIONS 1) Who wins more SBs with Andy Reid in 10 years, Jackson or Mahomes? 2) Who wins more SBs with John Harbaugh in 10 years, Jackson or Mahomes?
It is great to see our offense finally get something going but us Baltimorians are so sad to see our defense so weak
1:10 If this is true then going for 2 didn’t matter. They left too much time on the clock.
If the ravens had a good DC. I like Zack but he's not experienced enough yet. I know we lost like 4 coaches on D in the off season but still.
U answered your Own Inquiry
We lost "like 4 coaches".
Think About That
@@julianotis4236 Yeah but we do every year and it not this bad. It's not like they hired cheerleaders to replace them, they're NFL coaches.
I be doing what Lamar does on madden I can’t believe I actually saw it happen in real life lol
Rich “On Tilt” Eisen
When Jackson took a knee, a family member won close to 900 Dollars on a 40 dollar parlay! 😂😂
Nice. I need some luck like that
That defense is gonna be the ravens downfall. Swiss cheese 🧀
I am afraid you are right and the Ravens are wasting Lamar’s best years!
I thought he was gonna say off the chain 😂 I’d have died 😂
I’m a raider fan but I’d be disappointed if bengals missed playoffs, they’re such an exciting team and explosive! Hope they can make it! I also believe they can take out kc
Question: Who was QB when Cinn won the 1 game out of 7 tries???
love me an offensive shootout....if the ravens dont fix their defense issues they are going to have to score 40 points a game in the playoffs, they have time though
Right now the actual number in 33
Lol we’re gonna lose 52-49 to the chiefs or something crazy like that
@@surfingbird5227yall aint putting 49 up against the chiefs 😂
Tylan Wallace only knows big plays.
Eddie George DEFINITELY never played the Ravens. That was the enemy. Lol. He’s got to be talking about Jamal Lewis.
Ignoring the definitely offsetting penalties on the 2pt, dont let teams come back down two TDs with less 20 minutes in the game 🤷
Exactly 😂 and Ravens had 11 penalties to Cincy 3
I disagree with the two-point conversion at the end. We'd been "aggressive" in the play calling all game. Cost us 3-points early on by not going for a field goal in Evan's range. Throwing two bombs on 3rd and 2 and 4th and 2. At some point you should do the safe thing. I'd take the odds over the coin toss over the odds of a single play in goal-to-go (which we struggled against all game; it took a pass interference on a Failed 4th down play to give us an extra shot at a TD earlier). I like being aggressive, but not Every time the "aggressive vs. safe" situations arise.
Lamar Action Jackson is Awesome! GO RAVENS FLOCK NATION 💪 💯🏈🖤💜🏅🥊
Someone please ask Rich to stop hitting the desk because those mics are picking up everything and its super distracting
I agree Comic..at least get a better shock mount for that mic!!
the choice to go for 2 was correct, but the execution seemed bad. Once they didn't jump and Cincy had to burn the TO, you can't come back out and try it (at least not with that basic/obvious a play) That said, the 2 no-calls on that conversion were ATROCIOUS.
Excution was bad, yes bad calls, and there was an obvious hold by #71 on Van Noy. I would have thrown to Chase, he is a beast.
The mistake was the timeout. They had the matchup and should have thrown to Chase on the first play.
As a Ravens fan, the Bengals were playing aggressively all game, they made the right decision to go for 2. We got lucky….Burrow and Chase are a major problem.
The TE obviously flopped.....hell no on that and if you wanna call the hands to the face call the holding by that OLineman. Bengals got calls ALL game
Everyone said they should have gone for two. Because they couldn't stop Lamar Jackson. They stopped them in the 1st. half.
2024 season- 2 pt conversion success rate =30%
OT coin flip = 50%
W coin flip winner = 51.8 %
W coin flip loser = 41.9 %
You think their defense was stopping the Ravens offense at that point?
@@anthonyanderson9303 Likely twice - once in the last 30 seconds, and then probably again in OT. With 2-point conversion only would have to stop them once.
And the 2-point conversion rate is down this year but it's usually around 47%.
@anthonyanderson9303 Just putting the numbers out there. Neither defense was stopping either offense and both teams had the same chance of winning the OT flip... 50% ..51% and 41% are still better odds than 30% in my book.
@@JamesKennedy-t9h I'll take one play from 2 yards away against the worst defense in the league over relying on a coin toss, analytics be darned. The strength of the Bengals team is their offense.
The threat of Henry helps the ravens offense. I suspect that the running backs demand and money value will be rising after this season.
Stop! You. Can give Lamar any back in the league
Who do you think is the QB burrow hates the most? Jackson or Mahomes'?
I feel Fields could have pulled off a similar QB scramble like Lamar did, its just Fields cant do too much more
Why worry about Tucker. The offense is scoring now. That has been the problem and sad part of the Ravens. We've had to depend on kickers too much. Ever since the first superbowl in 2000...smh
Lamar the Best ‼️‼️😈
What that game told me is those two teams have QB’s that are electric. It’s a shame the defense’s will stop them from hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. Go Chiefs!!!!!!!!
The Bengals are the new Chargers, they keep Chargering games.
first CIN TD was on a BS call from the refs. The no calls at the end evened it up
Bruh. Ravens had 11 flags. Bengals had 3. Bengals fans can go sit their salty butts down
@@LuCifer-f3xand each of the flags were fuckin legit, sit down lil boy
I’m not even a bengals fan but this is all cap. 3 missed face masks and missed defensive holding? Botch job
@@matthughes1332right. The ravens earned all of those flags
@@TheForbidden_1neravens earned a W too
Yeah I’ve seen this MVP Lamar movie about 3 times now. This is the point of the year where they are unstoppable, Lamar’s gonna win his first ring. I’m not hopping on the wagon until he knocks off Mahomes in January who cares about these MVP regular seasons.
Take a shot every time rich says on tilt.
Burrow has a 14 point lead late in the 3rd quarter this is completely on him not the defense
Sad too see bengals ownership not go after defense at the trade deadline and in the off season, but not surprising! They are wasting Joe Burrow in his prime with suspect defense. They need to start paying guys and be more aggressive in the off-seasons, trades etc..
Bengals got screwed on 2 pt conversion try....absolutely a flag on roughing Burrow.
Ravens Steelers should be very good. Lamar legit rarely plays against Pittsburgh, but Steelers defense has done well against him.
Lamar Jackson is the greatest Quarterback to ever play this game
Someone tell Rich " on tilt " is not a good thing..
