Let the Islamabad adventure begins! Just minutes after stepping off the QConnect bus from Lahore to Islamabad I'm greeted by the two coolest dudes in Pakistan--Bilal, and Umair! I had never met these guys before, but my friend Brittany worked remotely with them, and helped make the connection. I couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome to Islamabad. Bilal and Umair treated me with such kindness and generosity, and they took me on an action-packed first day in Islamabad--Pakistan's capital city!
First, we head to the extraordinary Shah Faisal Masjid, the National Mosque of Pakistan, to explore, meet some local Pakistani people, and marvel at the Faisal Mosque's incredible architecture and design. After checking out the mosque and talking about Pakistani cricket, the boys take me to one of their favorite Pakistani restaurants for some insanely delicious and authentic Pakistani food.
The food at Bismillah Tikka & Chargha House was OFF THE CHAIN DELICIOUS. We ordered Pakistani chicken karahi, chicken sajji, and chapli kebab, and it was all REALLY REALLY GOOD. I felt like I totally made lifelong friends this day, and can't wait to share our other adventures from Islamabad!

You should have visited Peshawar city for authentic chapli kabab, mutton/beef barbecue and beef karhai.
And foreigners also feel the exquisite hospitality of the local people Pathans there in Peshawar. They usually enjoy there a lot more than Lahore or Islamabad. I don't know why but their culture is a bit different from other Major cities.
Islamabad is the most boring, bland place in Pakistan as far as city's hustle and bustle and food taste is concerned. It's clean a bit pampered, man made/artificial capital city of Pakistan. But cities like Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Faisalabad etc are true natural historic metropolitan cities of Pakistan.
But don't get me wrong. Islamabad is beautiful, green city in the heart of Margalla hills. But it was created to be a capital city just a few decades ago.

One word of serious advice to all Pakistanis as an overseas Pakistani, please start using underarm deodrant, that is the number one thing that bothers me, travelling in a hot humid country, requires people use deodrants. Secondly, cleaning up your cities, villages and countryside will hugely help improve tourist arrivals.
