Good luck and one thing that wasn't mentioned is that you need to check the ridge or the way the cardboard box has been formed,one way is stronger than the other direction. You will see what l mean when you get a piece of corrigated cardboard and see what way it bends, you want to put it in the direction that it doesn't bend for strength.

This came out amazing. I make cardboard furniture as well and I've learned that using wood glue instead of Elmer's not only gives you a stronger bond but it also gives extra strength to the cardboard. Wink! Wink!

Very awesome and impressive work. Just a suggestion you can try it and see if it works. You can make the chair even more sturdy by using spray foam insulation in between the cardboard. It expands and will adhere to the cardboard. You will have to experiment to know just how much to use due to the expansion factor

I do cardboard some cardboard sculpting for my church projects for the kiddo's and I get all of my cardboard at Costco. They are large and sturdy and they love when you take them off their hands. They are usually collecting them all day in that big orange box container in the store and I always get them there. Some are more harder than others. You can also look between the end caps, they'll put them in between there, until someone collects them. By the way, if you look at popcorn containers, there are very hard sturdy long cardboard supporters, like in a L shape. You can put two of those together and make a table leg or frame out something. When I go to Costco, I imagine what I could make with them. It's such a waist, when they toss it. The Lounge chair is Amazing.
My daughter would love this. She just bought and built her computer, and has been working on the room. She wanted a couch or one of these chairs in it.

I do cardboard some cardboard sculpting for my church projects for the kiddo's and I get all of my cardboard at Costco. They are large and sturdy and they love when you take them off their hands. They are usually collecting them all day in that big orange box container in the store and I always get them there. Some are more harder than others. You can also look between the end caps, they'll put them in between there, until someone collects them. By the way, if you look at popcorn containers, there are very hard sturdy long cardboard supporters, like in a L shape. You can put two of those together and make a table leg or frame out something. When I go to Costco, I imagine what I could make with them. It's such a waist, when they toss it.
